    Also another thing to be said about Samsung's notification is that their is a notification history that you can turn off or on. So in case you accidentally swipe away at a notification you didn't want to clear, you can still go back and review it through the notification history.

    I definitely like how she's very unbiased and considered a lot of features both phones have. The only thing missing to me when it comes to speed is that you can speed up the S22 ultra or almost any android at this point by going into the developer settings and drop the window animation, transition animation and animation duration to make the S22 super fast.

    • @metanoia3824

      That will only speed up windows transitions not the performance of the phone🤣

    • @skankytrick
      @skankytrick Рік тому +17

      @@metanoia3824 Oh yeah? And then what about when you go in and change the processor speed to "maximum," which is two settings above the default setting? I suppose that changes nothing either, huh? If you're an Apple fanatic, that explains why you don't understand technology. As for the transition animation scale, the point of the commenter is that, when performing head to head tests against the iPhone, the S22U would be much faster in a real world UI navigation test, since it wouldn't take all that extra time with animations. Fortunately for dumb Apple people, Apple doesn't trust you to change any settings, so you don't have to worry about the possibility of any of these settings features, because you just do whatever Apple tells you because Apple knows best and Apple rightfully doesn't trust their customers to be able to make intelligent decisions on their own.

    • @metanoia3824
      @metanoia3824 Рік тому +9

      @@skankytrick funny😂. FYI I'm an android user ever since and "ALREADY PLANNING" to switch to iPhone because I know how android works and its limitations. The commenter pointed out about adjusting the animation speed not the processor speed lol. And I've been to flashing custom roms maybe before you were even born don't lecture me about processor speed lol. With regards to setting the processing speed to max, if ever that option is available in developers settings, it means overclocking the cpu which could heat up the phone and eats up a lot of battery. too much heat could kill your phone specially the battery. One of the reasons why it's not enabled by default. Also if that's the case then it would mean Android would have to do overclocking just to keep up with Apple's processing speed😂. Transition animations alone should not be counted when comparing phone speed. We have benchmark test results that shows valid data lol. And yes there are so many user customizations that could be done in android compared to iPhone but do you really think all of them will be used specially by ordinary users? Most of them don't know they even existed Lol. comparing these operating systems is like choosing between quantity and quality lol.
      PS: Android has so many background pocesses that slows down the phone and eats up a lot of battery. I really can't see Android beat apple in terms of speed because of the difference in architecture 🤣 sorry but it hurts at first specially to an android fan boy like u😂

    S22 Ultra is better 🥇. We can say that iPhone is better in Videos and Battery life but S22 Ultra is more flexible in Photos. When you see videos or movies, pleasure is better with S22 Ultra. It also adresses more people needs : Android give S22 Ultra easier connection to Windows laptop whatever the brand (Most people own Windows laptop). It's also more user friendly with features or specificities with Android like Android Back Gesture, A number row key to write text easier, Cloned App for both personnal and professional account, Multitasking with Split Screen. You can unlock your phone without a useless extra swipe, with fingerprint scanner, same for Samsung face unlock. Samsung OneUi is great. Samsung Ecosystem is good too with Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Book. Even if 4 years of OS Update/5 Years of Securtiy update is less than Apple, it's still amazing for most users : 5 years guarantee. Iphone 14 Pro is an amazing smartphone but S22 Ultra is more complete🥇.

    Ella, thank you for another informative, balanced and professional comparison review. I have found little to switch from Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones over to Apple iPhone. In fact, for me I would be required to give up features that have become invaluable in my everyday professional and personal life. I do believe if I had started with Apple iPhone rather than a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, I do not think I would switch to a Galaxy S smartphone.
    I say this because I believe a person does not miss what they do not have when it comes to tech features if all other things are equal or competitive. For example, for all the time spent on camera photo/video, battery, processor and display performance, these features are all competitive between Samsung and Apple smartphones in everyday use. The most valuable features that offer a true impactful difference and are of high value to me, are the Samsung One UI, S Pen, Samsung Dex, Split Screen and customization. Apple iPhone does not even compete in the features that are some of the most important to me. I’m not sure why Apple is not thinking of these features and I guess that is OK considering I do not see a mass shift from Apple iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S Ultra. But to me they are features that would be worth switching from based on my experience.
    But I also believe what is more familiar to you also has a huge advantage when comparing smartphones along with a community of users within family and friends. In my case I have both Apple and Samsung users I communicate with, so no need to switch. I think both products are world class when comes to the best smartphones on the planet. You really cannot go wrong with Samsung Galaxy or Apple iPhone. But it is always fun to see how they perform against each other. Again, fantastic review!

    - Camera is better on S22 ultra for sure. 10x~30x~100x zoom is just amazing, especially if you are living in a city.
    - Ecosystem is also personal preference. iOS integrates better with apple’s own hardware and software. Whereas, Android is more open and compatible with everything else.
    - Rest, I agree with you.
    I used S22 ultra as my daily driver for the last few months and then switch to 14ProMax for the last few weeks, I can say this - If you want a reliable flag ship phone with the best battery(can probably last 2 days), get the iPhone. One thing to consider about the camera performance is the raw quality, not by look straight from the camera but by their ability to produce images after editing which the working with these files is all about. Raw file image is not expected to look good straight from the camera after all. Also I am curious how about the performance looks when two apps on the phone work simultaneously for example watching twitch stream in minimized window and writing documents at the same time which can be very stressful for processor. Hi Ella. One thing I noticed is when you compared the raw pictures. Samsung does have a multi frame capture RAW app, called Expert RAW, which captures the same amount of dynamic range in a photo as the usual JPG ones. They are equivalent to the general photos and have very high dynamic range. I feel that comparison is a little misleading as people who would really want to click RAW pics would use that app. Which is of course, by Samsung themselves.

      But you only lie to yourself if you compare those together, just think back when they released their Note series with the iPhone, Note 20 released as the direct competitor of the iPhone 12. So when you comparing the S22 to the iPhone 13, that is +2 generation vs +1 generation, and this is the same if you compare the iPhone 14 with S23 too, but if you want to lie to yourself, it's fine, but remember what they try to hide it, when they just not releasing their Note with the iPhone anymore. Basically if both had an even series (Note 20 and iPhone 12), and you add +1 for them in every year, you only make a fair comparison if you compare the even series with even and the odd series with odd..

    Qualcomm comes out with a new chip every year and android manufacturers have to build around it while Apple has direct control over everything. I think this is why Google and Samsung have started creating their own chipsets - they have more control and integration will be easier across their phones. That being said, the ability to customize almost everything with your phone is why I have been with Android for as long as I have. My work phone is an iphone 14 and I'm constantly annoyed with missing "quality of life" improvements Android has. Even if the iPhone is technically faster you're very limited, often to one specific method, of how to do anything.

    As owner of both phones I agree with of few of these. I have dynamic island on both phones, it's gimmicky at best. Don't find as useful as most do. Always on Display, after the latest 16.2 update, it's finally fixed. As for screen, the 1440p with only the small camera hole punch is sooooo much better than the island. Watching video in full screen is fantastic on the Sammy and horrible on the iPhone. The cameras are subjective depending what your preference may be. Normal colors, excellent video quality goes to the iPhone while high contrast colors with really good video for the Sammy. Video stabilization on the iPhone is far better. People say the iPhone build quality is superior with the stainless bezels and glass, but I find the Sammy to be right there. So I use my iPhone Monday to Friday for business whole my Samsung is for weekends and Holiday's. The iPhone performance is not even close, it's just a more solid device than the Samsung. I'm too deep into the Apple ecosystem so the Samsung would never be my daily but both are fantastic.

Try turning off animations in settings and watch how much snappier it is than the iPhone. The iPhone doesn't even really feel like 120hz to me. The animation speed on iOS is cringe.The iphone just feels like a chore to use with it's terrible keyboard and predictive text and lack of settings. There's always some work around I have to do to get something done on iOS. iPhone has better battery life but the ultras will get most people thru a whole day and they charge in about half the time. Let's not even talk about how buggy iOS 16 still is I've never seen so many lags and stutters/ crashing apps on an iOS device before. I thought Android was always supposed to be the cheap laggy device lol. It is also nice for doing things in the phone: password auto fill in browsers, authenticating Apple Pay, and especially apps that just use Face ID when you launch them to get in

    This was a really good review. Really thorough. But one thing nobody ever mentions is it doesn't really matter how well the iphone performs because it's literally limited in it's functions via software. Apple gives you this really nice looking, premium phone and limits it knowing the major demographic of VSCO pumpkin spice drinking chicks and non tech savvy wanna be fuckboys are gonna use it just so they look cool and have a certain color chat bubbles. The s22 on the other hand is built to where we can actually use every bit of that power and it has a lot of ease of use and simple function features that apple just won't do. If I was a social media person that just watched youtube videos, edited pics for my insta and messaged people then I'd get an iPhone. If I did anything more than that I'd literally get any other phone that runs android even a midrange one. Apple could kill android if they fixed there software to be less restrictive but because people keep buying it theyre gonna keep selling people shiny tofu blocks at 1.5k and being successful 🤷🏾

Also I prefer Samsungs portrait mode better especially on the front camera and the other camera features on the Samsung such as the food and other items. Both are amazing. I believe with Samsungs new chip next year it will have the processing power for handle the cameras. Also not to mention the Samsung handles ram management better with not having to refresh apps like my iPhone 14 pro max, I more often have to restart my iPhone apps. Samsung also has much better and faster Wi-Fi connectivity to include Wi-Fi 6e and better cellular antennas. I’ve also had better gaming performance as the gpu in the Samsung is better than apples while apples cpu is better than Samsungs. Also when it came to Home Screen apples arbitrary app placement and having to use short cuts for the customization features is very tedious and annoying and not even worth the time. Also certain apps like Zedge on iPhone for ringtones is very annoying to use. Having to go to garage band for every ringtone you want and exporting files and what not just for a ringtone is very frustrating. Ease of use with waaaaaaaaay less steps on the Samsung is huge when talking about day to day use. Thanks for all the tips. Didn't know what my phone is capable of. KDE Connect is awesome. Now I can sync all my devices including my Steam Deck.

    I really like the curved screens in smartphones, it looks nicer and I have no problems with it at all. The iPhone is better in color accuracy: I put my s22 ultra next to the iPhone in the store and the iPhone showed the real colors of the table, the ultra does not + the iPhone is also clearer. But the iPhone is rather clumsy and boring I think. Both are top smartphones, but the iPhone in Belgium is much too expensive, even with a subscription it is too expensive. The S22 Ultra is easier to buy and is cheaper than an iPhone.

    The one thing alot of these reviews leave out or don't know is your doing all the s22 ultra reviews based of minimal settings.... 😐
    What I mean is when you get your s22 ultra the system has 32 gb or ram separated on 4 8gb ram sticks. From factory only one of those ram slots are unlocked thus limiting your overall processing power.
    To unlock the rest you simply need to call Samsung support, s22 ultra are all pre installed it's literally just a call.
    Most gamers go with unlocking two for 16gbs of ram. 😀
    Truly hope this helps and would really love to see an adjusted review with more of your ram slots unlocked. 🙏💯😉

    Wow Ella! How awesome that you got to see Blackpink on their North America tour. I wanted to go too, but the tickets were too expensive for me. Couldn’t afford paying $700.00 per ticket. Hope you enjoy the concert.
    Always enjoy your videos and hearing your thoughts on tech products. Looking forward to your next one 😊

    Concert goers seems to really appreciate S22 ultra. was not much into cameras [bought it for the pen] but I'm happy it has that much zoom because I'm for sure going to use it when i get to attend concert.
