Quick Tip: After you bond with your bird and teach him a few tricks. Teach him how to forage. It'll give him something to do and cut done on the screaming. And when your baby's wings grow out flight train him. It's healthier, safer, great mental stimulation by training, strengthens the bond, and it's cool. Watch Wings n Paws, FlockTalk, and Parrot Wizard they all have great videos on flight training and foraging.
love my sun conure. they’re the best. she was just like yours when i picked her up. my mom was a bit skeptical about whether it was a sun or not, since the green on her back. i told her to wait and see. now she’s got that vibrant yellow on her back ☀️
I recently got a baby sun conure, and she is the sweetest thing. We got her from a breeder two hours away, and she was hand tamed already, although we did not hold her the first day. Her favorite show is Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood! 😂 She was just watching it. But she has a biting problem, so every time she bites, we put her back in her cage.
Bell Iron Fist Have you tried the earthquake method? It helps for my two conures. Just wiggle your hand a bit to make them have to catch their balance. It forces them to let go. They begin to realize the earthquake won't happen if they don't bite.
Withdrawing your attention/affection is the only form of punishment that is effective with birds IMO. Biting = playtime is over. It certainly worked with my conure.
Lulu Is Amazing LOL NOPE. That’s not what it means. This is a baby, it’s almost a little too young to be taken home. The “bobbing” means it’s hungry and is begging to be fed. It still thinks you’re gonna shove food down its throat.
Did your sun conure arrive via an airplane? I hate the thought of any animal flying, I dont trust the airlines to care for the animals and birds properly. Glad it worked out for you. The shopping cart is adorable.
Yes. It is a stressful thought, but this was the only way because traveling by car could be more stressful/longer for the bird. The bird seemed pretty okay and there wasn't too much poop (from fear).
i brought a sun conure about one month ago now and he can eat from our hand sometimes let us stroke him but he sometimes bites and if we put our hand near him so he can step on he would get ready to bite, what should we do?
Try other methods with hand-feeding the bird. If biting is an issue, it's important to enforce correcting behavior. This includes putting the bird back in its cage or refusing attention because attention/treats/love is what the bird seeks.
@@sfc2234 Yes, this happened to me twice when attempting to reach out to Cindy. Remember, she may be in a different time zone than you and she is very busy with all of the birds on her hands:)
These animals are WAY to needy! If you want a good bird prepare to give up everything! They just aren’t worth the headaches and all the other bull that comes along with them......
if the breeder told you that this Sun Conure was a baby they did not tell you the truth. A baby Sun Conure will have all green on wings and as they get older the green is replaced with yellow. My Sun is 9 months old and does not have near the yellow that yours has.
shelleyb1967 Actually it is a baby/juvenile. They loose most of their green by time they are around a year old. My Sun Conure is about Ten and bright orange-red on the head, yellow body and wings, and about halfway down his wings are green then teal/royal blue, and his tail is the same as his wings. Any Sun Conure that has alot of green on the body and wings is a young / baby. I hope this helps! Have fun with your baby!
Jessica Budnack That's true too. I hadnt thought of that. Probably depends also on the rate each baby matures. I know my betta fish babies are the same age but one has grown slower than the other.
shelleyb1967 Well that really depends on the bird, I have 2 sun Conures and my 8 week old baby has more yellow in his wings than my 20 weeks old conure. And it really does look like a baby
Dont buy your first parrot with out experience.or ur a bad owner start with a budgie love bird or cocketiel train it keep it for 8 months and ur ready for a parrot a parrot talk budgie love bird cocketeil dont so there called a parakeet need any tips comment down
No, you don’t just keep it for 8 months and then get rid of it, Idiot! They live a few years. Conures can make great first time birds. I should know. My first bird was a sun conure. Why don’t you do some research about it.
Bell Iron Fist hey I was thinking on getting on Conure for my first bird I’ve done lots of research and I’m wondering if there’s anything I need to know before o get one
See this sun conure again at the end of my "Sy's Piece of Heaven Sanctuary" video with his girlfriend, Molly, a pineapple conure:)
That Sun certainly acts and walks like a baby even though it has a lot of yellow already.

Druidae D. Actually yes! And it has been working! Thanks for the suggestion!
Bell Iron Fist You're welcome. I'm glad it works for you.
That's great:) Our conure had a biting problem and we had tried the same method you do, and it works!

What a sweetheart
Beautiful bird. Glad you're happy. Would have been nice to have heard the bird instead of the music which was obnoxious.
Thank you. It is unfortunate that the bird did not make much noise at all. As a baby, he just bopped his head before truly vocalizing.
He’s so cute
Adorable baby
I want one sooo bad 😩😩
This video is so sweet
How old was she the day you picked it up? I have one I’m tryin to figure out the age.
when he/she tilts his/her head down it means it wants a head scratch

That's so cute. Can you put an other video to see how it looks now? 😊

Where did u purchase ur Sun Conure? It’s rly cool
Cindy's Parrot Place:)
太可爱了!!
谢谢
how much did it cost you?
Nallely VCute $500 (not including food, toys, etc.)
Pets Palace its so cute and i did not know it cost that much and that is true i did a lot of researched about sun conure.
Pets Palace Your bird was wayyyy overpriced. The highest you should've paid was $400 But it doesn't matter if you love your bird.
Mine cost like $250
500!??! Mine was 150
Is this the Cindy’s parrot place in Chesapeke Virginia?
Yes
Melody's Pet Videos I called them months ago and never responded did you call them to?
@@sfc2234 Yes, this happened to me twice when attempting to reach out to Cindy. Remember, she may be in a different time zone than you and she is very busy with all of the birds on her hands:)

shelleyb1967 I'm so sorry I read your comment wrong! Yes you are correct. My bad! Not sure why my brain read it wrong..
doesn't depend on what type of bird it is? some loose their green slower than some sometimes I think
