@franklauria6846 I'm not sure what your trying to say ...I gaffed the cudas but I didn't need to gaff the sharks they were too small to gaff
@@JETTIEROCKSFISHINGwithMIKED no worries. I like your videos. I was watching last night and kept saying just gaff the sharks instead of bare handing them. And then the 2nd one the lady caught you were very close to getting caught/bit. Go back and look at it. You’re keeping them anyway, just head gaff them. Don’t you need to gut and dispatch those sharp nose to keep them from tainting the meat? I know when I’ve kept them they smell horrible. Worse than the cudas.
@franklauria6846 it's a misconception about the meat getting tainted if you don't gut them immediately.. I've kept then ungutted in a cooler for three days on ice and the meat was perfect...the only thing with them is get them cold quick and keep them cold and the meat will be great..

Yes..depends on the area though
You can buy they straight up smell like a garbage truck and your best chance of ciguatera lies in the meat of the barracuda. I have friends that have eaten them for 30 years, but you couldn't pay me to eat one. Paralysis would really f()ck up my paycheck
