    Those who thought Whitney was denying her black roots didn't listen to her live performances. Live Whitney always showed her Gospel, Soul, R&B, Jazzy and Funky sound/background.

      Yes! She took her live performances to the next level. I actually prefer her live recordings to her studio recordings.

      Interesting how this was done resorting more to British testimony rather than american one...precisely those who mostly put her BLACK ROOTS into question...her own people...just like they did to Tina Turner...amazing importance to Mica Paris testimony here, probably the only artist of Whitney Houston's generation who actually could had rivaled with her during her prime period, although being British...

    Whitney Houston - The human instrumant, THE voice. Still the greatest to ever do it. I miss her a lot! But, equally, I am glad to have grown up around her music. Her sound is imprinted in me and everyone who grew up in the 80s or 90s will remember her as part of the soundtrack to our lives. I love her, and always will!

    This is one of the best documentaries about her that I have seen. Thank you Whitney Houston was truly a unique artist whose voice and presence left a profound mark on the world of music. Yes, there were others with beautiful voices, but none were as beautiful as Whitney and none had her talent. In countries you may not have even heard of, everyone knew her and she was loved by both young and old; she evoked a maternal love in women. No one has ever been as beloved in the world as she was. Her ability to inspire and touch people's hearts speaks volumes about her strength as an artist. If it weren't for her, I would never have been interested in R&B, nor would I have heard of gospel. Hats off to everyone, but there is only one Whitney.

    Whitney did not destroy herself. The harm (mentally and physically) too many bad people have done to Whitney since early childhood caused her addictions and untimely death.

      @@ShadowNightWarrior Your comment is based on Whitney's life after she married Bobby and Bobby's increasing bad behavior from 1995 on. Whitney had many issues before Bobby came into her life. Their relationship started in 1989 when Whitney was 26 years old.
      *Whitney's brothers Michael and Gary brought drugs into her life when she was 14 years old.* They both admitted to that and also said they feel responsible for enabling Whitney for most of her life and contributing to her untimely demise.
      *Both Whitney's parents, brothers cousins and other family members smoked cigarets around her from birth on.* That influenced Whitney and resulted in her smoking problem.
      Whitney's demise started the day she was sexually abused as a very young child and all the other violations against her that never ended!
      Whitney had many very painful childhood and adult trauma's that pushed her towards numbing substances. People kept violating her till the day she died and many vile scum are still doing it!😡😞
      Though Whitney had everything when it comes to talent, beauty and more, her personal life was a far cry from that. On the surface it seems like Whitney had it all, but as private person she didn't. Whitney fought a life long and very hard fight against her demons that she couldn't win!
      *Substance abuse is an illness in Whitney's case and also millions of people suffering mental/physi issues.*
      *Some of the violations Whitney had to live with:*
      - No little girl wants to be a victim of sexual abuse 👉 Whitney was.

      *Also never forget* that Whitney had a very demanding career that also had a major effect on her mentally, her voice and entire body!
      Whitney did 130 concerts for 'The Bodyguard Tour', Award show and other live performances, recording, work, countless interviews, photoshoots, and many other professional work in 1year and 4,5 months. That's just 1 world Tour!
      *Conclusion:* Too many psychological traumas and an extremely demanding career caused Whitney's downfall and early death.

    They keep painting a bad picture of f and in the end. She didn't do that to herself. The Truth is out now. I'll leave it alone. RIP Whitney, God knows, all and, whoever, is the cause of this death. Will eventually be revealed. We now know, God didn't take you, nor was it your addiction. RIP Queen I will Always, Love you, Whitney, my favorite, entertainer and singer. No one in the World can top, your accomplishments. RIP and thank you, for all your hard work. The stage was set in that room. God knows the Truth, and now cause of Leolah, Bobbys sister and others, we do too. You did not unalive yourself. God see's all and I hope, they pay. If not here the afterlife.

    • @johnbailey667
      @johnbailey667 4 місяці тому +5

      Among the barriers she broke, she joined MJ, Tina, and Aretha to be the first black artists to break the racial barrier on MTV and segregated radio stations in the 80s. Pick any young black female artist or any female artist cite her as their inspiration. People like Beyonce [called her the blueprint], Kelly Rowland, Mariah Carey [listen to her Apple Music interview], Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, and more broadly even Lady Gaga and Adele cite her.
      Aside from that she is the ONLY black artist to achieve 3 diamond albums. She was also the first FEMALE to debut at number one Billboard 200. She did this an a pre stream era.
      At the time of her debut, the musical landscape was entirely different and there were doubts if it was the right time. Rock was dominant at the time. Whitney and MJ were major cross over acts and the rest is history.

    • @rachybaby72
      @rachybaby72 4 місяці тому

      @johnbailey667 Michael was one of the first black artists on MTV *(edit:* Musical Youth, not Michael Jackson was the first black group, and they were in heavy rotation) a year after MTV was on the air. Had nothing to do with Whitney or Aretha. _(And no one who was black cared about MTV anyway, but I digress since this has nothing to do with Whitney)._
      We're not talking about singing inspirations - we're talking about breaking RACIAL "BARRIERS."
      It's sad and pathetic that you had to stretch and write long paragraphs in an attempt to say that Whitney Houston of all people was a victim of institutional racism. Smh.

    • @ShadowNightWarrior
      @ShadowNightWarrior 4 місяці тому +3

      @@rachybaby72It's also about her image.
      She was the only black woman who was America's sweetheart. This title is normally for blonde haired female superstars like Brooke Shields, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift...
      She also was the (1st black female) biggest star in the world at a point where her albums were more bankable than Madonna's and Michael's.
      She was mostly hated by black people because those fools thought she "sang too white" and they were jealous of her success.
      No black female artist before or after her reached her level of success. No Aretha, no Tina, no Diana Ross, no Billie Holiday, no Ella Fitzgerald, not even Rihanna or Beyoncé.
