Sonal your videos are amazing, I wish I saw your video at the early stage of my career. Due to our fear, perception and lack of preparation, I have realized that I have lost huge money during my career even by working hard, performing better than the average, being loyal and being integrity.
After 17 years of my career, many recruiters overlook my potential because just because my salary is much lower than the average industry standard for my role and for my experience.
All my close friends with similar experience as mine have much higher salary not because they are better or because they work harder than me, but just because I was accepting the salary as it was offered to me.
But I have negotiated hard in my last job and got the salary I was expecting. Presently looking for another job and looking forward to negotiate to the best with polite, and use my negotiation skills I have learnt from you.

Sonal my experiences have not be good enough on the Salary advice you shared for the below reason/scenario.
After going through multiple rounds of interview including meeting the CMD finally after much negotiation with lots of phone calls, messages & exchange of emails, the salary was mutually agreed for a Net XXXX salary with the designation as posted on LinkedIn but the Offer letter had a comparatively junior designation and a XXXX Gross Salary. ( Obvious same figure Gross Salary will further reduce the AMT after taxes which is a loss to the candidate)
The candidate requested for the necessary correction and the offer letter got rescinded.Thks, OSR9

Hi Sonal, your videos are very insightful and have helped me gain confidence.
I have a query regarding dealing with dominating HRs.
I have interned at an organisation for a month post which I had job assignments and interviews at the same place and have been selected. Everyone in the team is quite nice and understanding. Th HR, however, is very dominating. She doesn't allow me to speak my mind and doesn't consider my financial problem either. (I faced this during my internship extension when i asked for a stipend hike which she rejected directly and after that I applied for job)
I am a fresher and talking to her always intimidates me. I will receive an offer from the company in a couple of days post the finance approvals.
Could you please suggest what I can do in scenarios like this where I am not being properly heard but love to work at the company?

Hello maam, I cleared all 5 rounds of interview (UK offer) and asked around 50% hike from what they provided they did not get back after that. In fact in the same call, HR said It is not possible for this role and its way too high expectation. She said a good bye. I asked 50% because currently in India i'm paid the higher band. Hence i checked the higher band for the same role in UK and asked for it (Higher band as per what displayed in glassdoor considering inflation and economy. In fact i asked lesser than what i'm paid in India). But they said its not possible. did i do any mistake? or shud i follow up with a lower ask?

    hi sonal!
so i spoke with my manager about a salary raise for the end of next quarter (promotional salary raise) and she said that the max they can do is going to be 1million because i'll be moving from junior to mid-level. in other case, mid to high level, the raise will be bigger.
my question is: is that number negotiable?
im currently working on projects for the promotion and i aim to to good work.
so far ive presented my manager with numbers and she said ive been a good addition to the team since i was making positive impact. she saw the numbers (prior to the projects for promotion)

I am at the final stage of my hiring process and the HR have asked me three times for the expected salary. First time I did not give them a figure but a scale. second time they asked for a figure and thankfully I had done research and knew the going rate, HR did not ask any further questions, they only said that they did not know the figures themselves:) (multinational company and HR are located in the current country I work and I will be moving to another country for the job). then another HR person called and asked for the figure again. I gave the same figure and no questions were asked. I am wondering why? am I underselling myself? or overselling? no negotiations are taking place at the moment.

Hi Sonal! Thanks for all your great content and advice. I wanted to see if you could offer your opinion on a salary negotiation for a promotion. I was offered about 25K (which was my MAN) as a raise obviously for a position that requires way more but I know the person before me was making about 12K more than what I was offered - because at one point they used an offer from another company as leverage but before that leverage they were making what I was offered. Is it OK for me then to still attempt to negotiate for the exact salary my predecessor was making? I followed your advice and made an attempt, my fear is they just remove their offer or if they come back and say thats was the final offer and they cant budge - do I accept since my MAN was reached, do I say I need more time to think even when I know I am still going to accept ?

For companies where people move internally. What are some of the tips on how to negotiate it?
The usual answer that we get is lateral move. Why?
The process for internal mobility move is the same..
    1. Apply to the job
    2. Get an interview
    3. Prepare for interview
    4. Clear interviews
I don’t understand why companies get away by saying internal or lateral move..
    Please advice.
