Out of them all, this is easily my favourite Final Fantasy. Fast forward to today, and I'm ready to dive in once again. Thank you Nintendo, thank you Square Enix. Seriously, thank you.
@kel petch Not the entire game, necessarily, just its engine, as the assets can still be reclaimed through retail copies. Not a small feat to rebuild an engine, but probably easier than an action game with heavy physics, Definitely more than they may find worth it, though. It may still happen (or be happening), but I won't count on it too soon. But I do hope, someday.
I rather Square Enix remake it with new updated assets but still keep the core battle mechanics. I'm not a fan of what they're doing to FF7's battle mechanic where they're trying to make it more in the style of recent FF's like FF13 and FF15.

Melodies of life is beautiful, specially with all the context between Garnet and my boy Zidane. FFIX is definitely one of the best of the franchise and that ending still take some tears of my eyes.

This is the best video game for me forever and all time, even now that I'm 30 years old. The definition of my happy, carefree teenage life. It's always a nostalgic feeling everytime I remember all those countless hours as I played this in my PlayStation One after school hours wayback Secondary School and from noon to sunrise if it's weekends. 🥺💙🥰

It would not be efficient for them to put a small sized file on the cart, but I think they have carts that also use less memory which will maker it a bit cheaper for them to manufacture. Even then though, I'm not sure it would be cost efficient compared to other games, but I get what you mean. I'd still buy it though lol
I thank God that this port exists because if it didn't I never would've found this game, and honestly... I can't imagine life without it, it truly is a work of art... at least in my eyes
Still have and play this and 1 through 9( minus 3 obviously) on my ps1. It's great that kids these days who dont have access to the original games can still play them.
I loved the game. It has good characters especially Zidane and Vivi, the story is well written and emotional, the soundtrack is worth listening, and it has everything RPG. I truly hope Zidane would be in Smash as a different Final Fantasy rep other than from 7.

The most underrated FF with such a heartwarming story and the best soundtracks. Nobuo even said many times that FFIX soundtracks is his proudest work.

Yep, the song was done by Yoko Shinomura, who had experience with Mario's RPGs, as well as Kingdom Hearts.
