Glad you asked Patrick! Actually the adhesive seals the rabbit hide of the zonker strip, leaving only hair to absorb water. The hair alone absorbs little to no water and what it may absorb sheds almost instantly on your first back cast. That’s the magic of this fly! In the water the hair fluffs out and gives it a big profile, but out of the water it’s extremely light and easy to cast. 😎👍
Any suggestions of what you might like to see? I specialize in big streamers, so I tie everything from small streamers for trout and bass to huge pike and musky flies and everything in between. 😎👍
Depends on the species. With trout they like to short strike, they’re not as aggressive as other fish like Pike or Bass. In that case it’s easy to tie a head hook on this design. 👍 I don’t agree with double hook streamers, I either chose to tie a tail hook or head hook and for this streamer I was targeting browns. It has an exceptional hook up rate for trout! 😎👍
Also, this fly is designed to be fished fast. So when a fish is chasing it down (especially trout) they tend to swipe the tail in my experience. I got tired of seeing big fish slash my streamer and not hooking up. This was my solution to getting those weary fish that weren’t fully committing to the entire fly (head hook). 😁🎣
Isn't this going to be a little heavy to cast whe fully wet?

Amazing
Looks so neat❤
Thank you! A lot of passion goes into my flies. 😊
deadly pattern! gonna hook into some tiger musky and Pike!
Those Pike can’t resist! 🎣
Why is the hook at the very back and not the head? Most fish strike the head of a baitfish
