Woow! it's truly a hard work! my question is;can't they do it the way coconut oil is done?coz they r almost the same except this ones looks abit smaller than coconut itself,if so.. it will be easier 4 this ladies.
Well one thing for sure I"ll never look at shea butter the same way again after watching this. Thanks for the women's hard work, for something I really like using every day!!! God Bless you all!!!!!
I thank these ladies for making Shea butter. This is some serious back breaking work that I know many people would not want to put up with....it isn't easy. Respect is 100% due to these Ladies in Africa for doing this. Also, it is nice to see once again the natural colour of Shea butter when it is done and not that fluorescent bright yellow stuff (which I know is also Shea butter, but with dye added to give it that ultra deep yellow color).
Venusstar22 keep looking, the color comes from the tree root!...the root is put on simmer in pot with water until the water is out and only oil is left...then mixed with the shea...

This really breaks my heart seeing these lovely people working SO HARD just to make Shea butter and to produce it to the USA for cheap. I buy organic pure Shea butter from a dollar store near my house, and I have to say now that it's not worth $1 for a 3oz of Shea butter but worth like $100 an oz. god bless all the ladies and men that do this on a daily basis
Ihsan Deeb would u pay HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS for just ounces of Shea butter? People love to talk about proper compensation and fair trade practices as if people woukd be willing to pay for the price jump. I’m actually African and a teenager with a minimum wage job woukd be earning a 6 figure salary in Africa. $100 is 10,000 Kenyan shillings. And just $1000 is 100,000 Kenyan shillings. And for Nigerian currency the gap is even bigger. So $5 shea butter would be the equivalent of hundreds of dollars over there. I’m speaking in general terms of the African countries I’ve been to but I don’t know what the exchange rate is for Ghana specifically. And I’m not saying these women shouldn’t be properly compensated, they probably are behaving taken advantage of😣 but we should also be realistic and consider every factor.
The goodness of the Shea Butter comes from the love that is put into producing them. These women along with their children are pouring their hearts, love, sweat and voices into all this work! Thank you!
i can supply shea butter direct from our village to anywhere globally. sample is available for free contact. wechat/whatapp +2347060727672 or call.......... facebook.com/olurotim
The guy standing in every camera shot was unnecessary; hope the Ghanaians don't have their subsistence stolen from them. Shea is big business now, I feel nervous for these African's resource. Lord Jesus, please protect the inheritance you gave the Africans.
You know that would be a doggone shame and disgrace. I pray with you too @Gobber Fries. May Jehovah shine his merciful light of protection upon his African children. The camera man did skip two important steps though. He could have skipped 2 more steps if you ask me.
Who are you selling these products to? How are they exploiting it if it's a business deal? They could easily not sell the products and keep it themselves. Interruption and greed, funny considering U.S. donated hundreds of millions each year in HIV drugs, food, and aid.
Alan Scott u should read about African history a bit. Read "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe if u want to know about the exploitation of native africans by the "West" who by giving the excuse of "civilizing" third world ppl loots their resources . The western factories buy shea butter in a very low price ,the workers are paid awfully low amount . But the first world companies r selling it to ppl like u in a high price.
Valerie Valerie I’m an African immigrant in America with family in the states, Europe, and obviously Africa. Just came from Kenya this summer and trust me, what we consider peanuts over here is A LOT MORE back there. Just $5 is 500 Kenyan shillings. And I think $1 here is like 320 Nigerian naira. So yea. Of course we don’t want these women to get cheated but trust me it isn’t peanuts to them😌
I almost cried watching this video with the efforts put in from these hard working women and they goes through by singing omg I love the togetherness to may God bless every hands that had put into making that miracle butter and bless your families great video btw thanks for sharing to
i have a newfound respect for the hard work these ladies put into making this product that i use so very much of. i only hope they are adequately rewarded for their labor. god bless them! thanks a lot lades mwah!!
Me and my young goddaughter who is 3yrs old just watched this together. She is always talking about Shea butter because she loves it on her skin and hair. I already knew of where and how it's made but I'm glad I found this video. Those women work so so hard for us. And shea butter isn't exactly cheap. I'm from Britain and its widely used here too.
Soo Much respect to these women, they really don't make much out of this, all their hard work is benefiting the middle men Thanks to these beautiful and strong women, without shea butter , my skin will not be looking this good. I love it and cant do without it
Woooow!!!! They really bust their ass making shea butter!! This definitely makes me more appreciative and grateful. God bless these beautiful hardworking women
This is amazing and I appreciate all the hard work they do just to keep our bodies naturally healthy....I look at Shea butter different now because I didn’t know the long process that goes into making it...I won’t complain about the price anymore cause every dime is worth it
im so proud of my people ,i love all of us with a passion✊🏾👏🏾 beautiful hard working woman, they deserve to be very rich!! i love it!!! we get so much hate but we are solid
Wow! I started really loving this beautiful stuff, after years of holding back thinking it would be sticky and annoying, now I shower and lather myself up with it, even deep conditioning my hair ✨ and the results are more than fantastic 😍 so thankful and grateful for Shea and the hard work behind the extraction we wouldn’t have the quality without you ✨👍🏻💕🙏🏻 oh and I love how it is done with love, singing and good vibrations how can you not!!!
Africa is an entire continent, not simply a region . . . my question eludes to specificity of country and tribe. . . could it have been the Bassa or Gola people of Liberia for example.
+Nana Dufie Well apparently you are unaware that you began the tone of condescension with your reply to my commentary and exuberance regarding this precious commodity. Perhaps you could have given the response that you have given now, take a moment to teach rather than berate and belittle some one who is learning. This UA-cam space is not just one for experts like yourself but others who are unafraid to express themselves. Before finished the video and continued my research I made this joyful comment, contrary to popular belief as a knowledgeable Ghanaian not everyone in the diaspora knows the details and specifics of where shea/nut butters origins come. I pray you find more positivity and openess in future exchanges. And also you might research my name as well to not belittle me in regards to my own background as well. God bless.
Oh wow...so much work ..I never knew ..thank you ladies for all the hard work...I have a new found respect for shea butter and will always use this product..
A team of hard workers showing hiw its done. I hope the Presenter is well now and thank you for taking the time out to film this and upload it on to UA-cam for our information.

I do often wonder who was the first person/people that were like “let’s take this nut, boil it, crack it open, fry it, pound it and grind it, then boil it again, and then sieve it.” It’s such a lengthy and intense process and obviously one that came about over a long time. But many natural products we have today - I wonder who decided to do something with it first. 🧐

I am so appreciative of the persons who make the Shea Butter.I agree with milly b, It kills me when people are looking for this product to be sold at a cheap price. It this was made it the western world shea butter would cost an arm and a leg. We sell organic Shea Butter and our customers want it for the same price as the cheaper (less quality) brands. It makes it hard to resale quality products when people do not appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of a product.

We should appreciate how munch working goes in our things in America and see how hard working people did a lot of it over seas so America has it so munch easier so we should have respect for every little thing
I will never again complain about the price of shea butter, seeing how hard these women work to extract it from the nuts.

It's amazing how you learn to do this , like how did you know that many steps of making it before the final process? Bless these hardworking women.
I do often wonder who was the first person/people that were like “let’s take this nut, boil it, crack it open, fry it, pound it and grind it, then boil it again, and then sieve it.”
It’s such a lengthy and intense process and obviously one that came about over a long time. But many natural products we have today - I wonder who decided to do something with it first. 🧐

Exactly what I was wondering. Like we don't even get their names.
In the other Peace Corp film, in French, the two women are featured in the credits. This one doesn't do that.
amazing God given talent and knowledge to know these processes 💪
great hard work .. those ladies get really tired to make it ... we appreciate your effort
Waow so beautiful, and more beautiful to see the hard working woman. I am so proud of them ❤️

Hi Scott, Thanks for the video. Making Shea butter is a lot of hardwork and not sure if the women are compensated fairly for their labor.
Much respect to those who produce Shea butter..
