Here is a tip: if children feel sick on a plane give them a mint or some kind of food with mint in maybe even mint lip balm. Mint is proved to help calm down stomachs . Perfect if the little one has been sick!
I'm 14 and the youngest in my family but these help me, like mega recipes videos or the diy videos are really cool, and I love Elle's videos. They were addicting
Ur correct about that the air hostesses won't give a lot of milk because my mom told me once when she was on a flight with me and my grandmother (mom's mom) I cried and cried for milk at first they gave me milk but after sometime they refused to give milk and I started crying so then there was a lady sitting next to us and she said u stay here I will make sure ur child gets milk and she went and fought with the air hostesses for them not giving me milk so what Elle said is true and I would like to thank that lady for helping complete strangers and I know she might never she this comment.
Not a mum, but a sister with lots of cousins and a little sister. My family is Chinese but we live in New Zealand. We fly from New Zealand to Shanghai (10-11hrs) and then to Dalian (3hrs) to visit family almost every year. We have nearly always booked night flights so that my little sister and me (when I was younger) would sleep through them. It's always worked for us, and plus, we are normally so tired that we sleep through the next flight as well. Another tip is to try to pack all electronics, liquids, passports and everything that needs to be taken out to go through security in the same bag. This way, you only have to open and rummage through one bag which saves a lot of time. A stroller, especially one that can fold up, is really, really useful. Some airlines will allow you to put the stroller with your luggage in the overhead bins if it's small enough. I know that some airlines offer special kid's meals that you can pre-book. It's normally something like chicken nuggets and has a much smaller portion. You book them at the same place you book vegetarian or halal meals. We found out this by accident when the flight attendant offered my little sister one. Also, some airlines have a special harness that attaches to a parent's seatbelt so a kid can sit on their parent's lap. It's only for kids up to 3 though. We found this out when my little sister was being fussy and refusing to sit in her own seat for landing.
I know this video was made a while ago, but I thought I would add another tip. If you are travelling with an infant your best bet is to simply purchase an extra seat and carry their car seat on board. It buckles into the seat just like it does in a car and it makes it easier so you don't have to hold them the entire flight. In fact from what I remember some airlines are requiring that you do this with small infants because it's safer.
a recommendation that you didn't suggest would be to make sure to be in the airport with plenty of time. you do NOT want to feel rushed in getting to terminal.
Our toddler group teach recommended it to us and it was awesome!! I feel like the flight attendant looked a little nervous until we cleaned it up though.
Eek I needed this - I'm leaving on a 25h+ journey around the EARTH back home and hadn't thought of a few of these. The milk boxes, painter's tape and extra ear plugs - genius!
Omg I'm traveling with a 15 month old when my fiance and I go on our honeymoon and it's an eight hour flight. I feel like this is going to help me A LOT. Thank you so much for posting this, it's awesome!
These are such great tips -- just sent this over to a good friend who is flying for the first time with her 8 month old.. I think these will really help :-)
9 years later, and i'm looking back at this for nostalgia purposes; little did i realize, but elle was going to be on my wallgreens ad i got before watching this video! you were beautiful 9 years ago, and you still are 9 years later, elle! ;)
Im a mom of 3 (2 baby girls, 1 teenage boy) and me and my husband recommend sitting as far in the middle as physically possible, its always been the best for for us and I always sit in the middle, the girls at my sides or in my hands and my husband close by with my son ☺
I should be making a video about air travel with kids. I have traveled with my kids (infant age, toddler age and preschooler) over 25 hours internationally. The most important rule with your little baby is to keep them comfortable, happy and fed. With older kids, definitely pack surprise toys (many of them) and get them excited about flying. Domestic flight is seriously a cake walk
Another tip is to select a really good plane for the trip planes like the 747,757 and 767 have great cabin air to keep your toddler and yourself refreshed,it also helps with brain development. And in case of the 747 the really smooth landing gear and ride through turbulence can really protect pregnant mothers
Love your videos. But, please don't suggest to people to bring nuts or peanuts as a snack on a plane. Food allergies are on the rise and if nut residue gets in the air it can send a highly allergic person into a life threatening allergic reaction. Especially because air plane air is circulated. Also, whole nuts to children under 3 is a choking hazard. NYS doesn't let it be served to children under 3 in certified childcare settings for this reason.
also would like to add that a lot of planes will not allow you to bring nuts on to the plane for this very reason, so make sure to double check to see what kind of snacks are allowed on the flight before bringing anything.
that is true. some do some don't but at the same time they sell nuts inside of the stores inside of the airport. so how can they tell you no.nuts when they sell nuts in a store in airport?
Hah I know I am 10 but I just watch them because first of all the kids are so cute and second of all it can possibly give you information for the future
My fiance and I are expecting our first child and we live in Israel but my family lives in Sweden so this tips will be really helpful for us! Thank you love your videos!! 😊❤
My ears always hurt really badly on flights, but to rupeduce the pain I suggest putting in your earplugs 10 minuts before entering the plane and remove them about 30 minuts after the flight. That way the pressure in your ears changes slowly reducing pain. (I got the tip from the place where I got the plugs)
Here is a tip: if children feel sick on a plane give them a mint or some kind of food with mint in maybe even mint lip balm. Mint is proved to help calm down stomachs . Perfect if the little one has been sick!
Also,
If they have a cold, try eucalyptus and if they have sore ears when flying back, then give them some gum( preferably mint).
+We Are Phamily Oh and if they are crying, Just throw em out thd window. Works perfectly everytime!
+Shazia Hassan wtf
Shazia Hassan You can't open airplane windows! Also , that is just out of order , unless you are making a joke which i think you are :)

A lot of companies will allow families with small children to load the plane first. I find it very considerate.
Awesome, I'm so glad!! One more tip I should have added, get plenty of rest the night before flight!! (which of course, I never do.. ;)
Yes!! We will definitely do this!! I'm going to get Connie on board for this. =)
RIP Connie 🙏
