I like secrets with a lotta difficulty, but not to the point where it becomes tedious and not worth it. It seems like some games don't know the difference between "easter eggs" and "secrets". For example, The ray gun is an easter egg, and the Death Machine on Ascension is a secret. Easter Eggs are fun little things to find in the game, and has now been replaced with finding collectibles and other weird objects that the game has. It doesn't require much effort, and is more about just being in the right location. Uncharted uses this formula very well. Secrets are not upfront and take time to find. They require a lotta thinking, creativity, planning, and can take some time to activate. Battlefield uses this formula very well. Both additions are great, but they tend to be mislabeled.
"Defend the command center by any means necessary" is the reason why the ray guns come out, the Japanese troops need to protect the command center by any means.
Plan D I know I'm late but what if the Germans gave this to Japan to ensure their victory and defense. But the facists soon found out it was a mistake. "By any means necessary '' meant that if all else fails they would take out the Ray Gun. The Japanese would use this technique but they were far too late. If the Ray Gun was ever used,War for us would be inevitable.
Go to 4:00 minutes for the translation. "...So even for a single second we have to try our best to hold the enemies back. The ??? forces are likely to reinforce, our army must stop ??? completely. I repeat, defend the command center by any means necessary. Don't let the enemy forces...(Radio stops)"
Rissole Rissole, I was reading some stuff online when doing history homework, and I came across and article that mentioned the allied soldiers found an incomplete and ripped up telegram in a Japanese communications bunker.
+Anonymemes Racing I assume you must have started zombies at black ops 3. Because the ray gun was like the best accomplishment in zombies up until black ops 3.
Edit : basically what I'm saying is, what if that was just his reaction to seeing such a powerful weapon in a dimension where such power doesn't exist. Idk honestly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I always thought it was reversed. Also, “Defend the command center by any means necessary” probably refers to the troops needing to protect the mentioned “command center”. Which is also why the ray gun appears from the stone that rises. “If all else fails, use the ray gun”.
I have done quite a bit of audio recording and editing over the years. It's definitely reversed. There's an old audio trick where you reverse a vocal line, add reverb to the track, and then reverse it again so the reverb is reversed but not the vocal. I think this technique was used here except ending up with a reversed vocal line with reversed reverb. It's a very distinctive, ghostly delay leading to the spoken dialog.

No more enemy...!!" (これ以上敵軍を… (No more enemy...!!) The sentence is incomplete. The recording of the announcement is interrupted while saying something.)
Nice job, I'm surprised this hasn't been noticed before, or at least not put out to the public. I was also under the impression that it was aliens, because that is what I had been told. Very interesting stuff, good job!
Hey Rissole I gotta say, I really appreciate the fact your videos focus on the more mysterious aspects of the zombies storyline- it's right up my alley and I love your videos! Keep up the good work!
You could easily correlate this with the nazi zombie campaign, since in the times where the WWII was still fought, the people behind the experiments on the wonder weapons would have most likely tried to keep their secret bases from falling on enemy hands. Maybe this is a recording that got "stored" somehow in the statues themselves (along with the Rayguns) before one of those secret bases was overrun by "???".
***** And why do you think the COD community is so toxic right now? Little kids screaming and cursing, crying for other people to use snipers, making inappropriate player cards. I know not every child is like this but a big majority of them are.
So I had a further idea on how this easter egg could be related to the zombies mode. Remember the building you fight in on Nacht der Untoten? It's also present in the multiplayer map airfield, though some of the walls are blown out in the multiplay version of it. Since the mission that that multiplayer map is based off of is directly after little resistance (l can't remember the name, sorry), maybe the easter egg was originally meant to that mission, instead? or it was made to be in order, due to the fact that little resistance and the latter mission both take place on the same island, and the building you fight in is present in the latter mission? Just a thought.
"ST" is the studios nomenclature for Station. pel is peleliu which is the map, IGD is most likely In Game Dialog, JAS Japanese soldier or Japanese army soldier.
Davos Nobody deserves shit, but it's just one of those things you gotta accept with UA-cam and life I guess. Always gonna have haters no matter what. So you just gotta ignore them, block em if you have to, and move on. :)
Frédéric Acord Well it wouldn't have anything to do with zombies because this easter egg was in the game before any dlc was released and zombies had no story until dlc 2 where it introduced the main characters. The first zombie map and dlc 1 zombie map was just random soldiers.
RTG Hammerhead yeah but I thought maybe they'd planned some if the story out and thought the zombies and aliens link would be in future games and connected to wwii. It'd be cool if this was foreshadowing a crazy world beyond earth in cod that'd be in a really cool sci fi call of duty revealing weird ancient aliens stuff or something like that and zombies just being a huge fireshadowing to it

ha ha I knew the voice was speaking Japanese. my friends always said it was just speaking back words lol. Awsome video by the way I've been wondering what the voice was saying for a long time.
Saw this in my recommended, I figured it was a couple year old video I've never seen, but it turns out it was 5 days ago. Anyways, thanks for the thorough explanation, I enjoyed the video, and you shed light upon a question that has been bugging me from the back of my mind for quite a long time.
Damn, I thought it was deciphered already due to it being so old. I also figured out it was Japanese from the first I heard it ( I do not speak Japanese but know how it usually sounds 0.
I believe the dialogue is used later on in the campaign. In the last American mission you enter a bunker where Japanese officers are arguing, given that it's last mission the dialogue would fit the tone (since the line mentions defending a command center). I dunno, might just be another red herring but that's my guess.

on that level, before calling in the airstrike, if you walk back into the river, you can see lines of dots and bars which look like morse code writing. wondering if anyone had discovered it or if anyone has already translated it, but theres not much on the web to suggest otherwise.
Loved the video man really glad to see a UA-camr sticking up for themselves in the comments you deserve a lot more subscribers appreciate you taking the time to find this out
WALLe COOKIE I dont mean they made it i mean it looks much more american than german it has the stereotypical lazer gun look of american cartoons of the time period and it has flames doesnt look anything like a german made weapon to me
I wanted to explain the thought process behind it, and I did explain in the video there is a written post you can read instead of watching. Much quicker.
+rissole It says to protect the base right it maybe wants to say shi no numa and when it says with any cost it also maybe means evem after death (becoming zombies) thats what i think
Maybe it was like a secret weapon to defend against enemy's and they hid it from the americans and the quote is saying to defend, possibly with the ray gun. Who knows tho
Or maybe it's just a Easter Egg, that was just put in for fun, using distorted(So anyone that speaks Japaneses doesn't completely understand it if at all. ) Cut Quote to give it a air of weird. But Hey that's too reasonable of a reason right.
I could have sworn the man said something about death twice shine (she~ney) means die and I heard something about kuroushtae sry or however you spell it(I sounded it out) why don't you contact someone who speaks Japanese to get another opinion
So I do a lot of coding work and anyways interrogate japenese soldiers isn't even a removed objective. I learned some extra facts from transcripts of interviews with the game creators. It was placed in the manuel specifically as another easter egg. Meaning it was never meant to be in the game anyways. The statues and ray guns are there for decoration and to look fancy. The quote was originally meant to play loudly over an intercom when you rocket the island and run on. It's telling the soldiers to stand guard and not let the reinforcements from your team break through while you guard the shore and push forward. And that's it. Just a cool easter egg!
the 4 lion statues maybe represent the 4 characters in zombies and with the ray gun just supports that its related to zombies since the first zombie map looks like the building in the campaign after you get the flamethrower ;)
The Ray Gun blueprints were made by Division 9 (Japanese) and kept in the Rising Sun facility (Shi No Numa) where they planned to one day make the weapon and use it in their war. Maxis visited Rising Sun and took interest in the blueprints so he stole them. Back at Der Riese, he edited the blueprints to his desire and made the Ray Gun that we use in all Zombies maps. This was the start of the Wonder Weapon program that gave birth to most other Wonder Weapons that we use in Zombies. So really, the Ray Gun is both German and Japanese.
the model of the zombie crew is the same model used in the waw campaign so that's why it looks like Tank Dempsey same goes for the other character. Think why make different models when it's easier to use the same model for everyone
I was reading through some old theories and some people even think its Takeo from the Black Ops zombies? Some theories were saying that this was what he was radioing to someone before getting teleported to zombies. I honestly love the idea of that.
This was one of the best easter eggs back in the day before things got too crazy and over thought.
Battlefield in a nutshell: everything is an Easter egg and they are all SUPER difficult to activate.
I took so long to do that

WALLe COOKIE I dont mean they made it i mean it looks much more american than german it has the stereotypical lazer gun look of american cartoons of the time period and it has flames doesnt look anything like a german made weapon to me
Codename:END3R
it kinda looks like something jetsons would use
WALLe COOKIE I agree with that entirly and i will never see that ray gun the same again
Jesus christ this could have been a 2 minute video without all the stalling.
I wanted to explain the thought process behind it, and I did explain in the video
there is a written post you can read instead of watching. Much quicker.
I demand a remake of this game for 360 and newer.
Vincent Sluga One and PS4
Dankus Memus I think he went full retared and didn't even realize it was originally for the 360 lmao
ps4 is trash
Vincent Sluga don't forget a remake 4 ps2
Vincent Sluga this game came out on the xbox 360…
+rissole It says to protect the base right it maybe wants to say shi no numa and when it says with any cost it also maybe means evem after death (becoming zombies) thats what i think
Holy shit dude, I unsubbed when revelations came out to dodge some spoilers. You got 4 times as many subs since. Congrats dude.
It might actually be a reference to sombies because nacht is the command center. it is visually the same as nacht, just without an accesable upstairs.
Fernando Chavez The Raygun was a weapon crafted by a Nazi group named Group 935
aw true i forgot, natsume probably right it might just be a easter egg

huh, dragonGJY,i though he was only published cod zombie video in China, but still you are glad to meet someone that was skilled
I could have sworn the man said something about death twice shine (she~ney) means die and I heard something about kuroushtae sry or however you spell it(I sounded it out) why don't you contact someone who speaks Japanese to get another opinion
Kuroshtae aru* (how I sounded it out but spellcheck messed it up)
Defend the command center any means necessary.
its about this
The ??? Army are likely to reinforce. The Zombie Army are likely to reinforce
I'm not complaining about the length, but you should put a timestamp at the important part
Not that bad of an idea.
jord3444
Cause 7 minutes is so close to 10 minutes? Shut up.
Thx
how did this video get on my sub feed im not even subscribed but awesome video dude
Haha cheers man.
I kinda got scared watching this video
Peleliu was a pretty dark event, that could be why.
This vid deserves a sub it looks like it would have took a while to make
its just a visual glitch guys dont worry
Anyone remember seeing a Japanese soldier with a gun over his head running towards you and then spamming knife?
the 4 lion statues maybe represent the 4 characters in zombies and with the ray gun just supports that its related to zombies since the first zombie map looks like the building in the campaign after you get the flamethrower ;)
so maybe they used that audio clip because they are trying to say that the ray gun was made in Japan and it's super OP
.
nah it was made in china
the voice is in japanese
The Ray Gun blueprints were made by Division 9 (Japanese) and kept in the Rising Sun facility (Shi No Numa) where they planned to one day make the weapon and use it in their war. Maxis visited Rising Sun and took interest in the blueprints so he stole them. Back at Der Riese, he edited the blueprints to his desire and made the Ray Gun that we use in all Zombies maps. This was the start of the Wonder Weapon program that gave birth to most other Wonder Weapons that we use in Zombies. So really, the Ray Gun is both German and Japanese.
Thomas The Dank Engine finally someone who pays attention when they play the game 😀
The voice sounded like the Japanese Sargent in semprr fi
Rissole? What is your favorite EXOTIC BUTTER?
One that contains Eggs Benedict.
Rissole made by an angsty teen
Peyton Dawson sister location 😂😂😂
5:43 that is Tank fucking Dempsey
But.. but... Private Polonsky
the model of the zombie crew is the same model used in the waw campaign so that's why it looks like Tank Dempsey same goes for the other character. Think why make different models when it's easier to use the same model for everyone
Christian Micheal well yeah, all of the characters are really just reused models. Especially noticeable with Nikolai, who has Chernovs model.
This gameplay is hard to watch
I was reading through some old theories and some people even think its Takeo from the Black Ops zombies? Some theories were saying that this was what he was radioing to someone before getting teleported to zombies. I honestly love the idea of that.
no shit it was Japanese, how the fuck does it sound like Alien language
Because of the distortion in the voice.
BlacKkMatter because this guy's stupid :p
This deserves a like, good job!
