In the lore, GDI chose to retire all of their mechanised walkers except Juggernaut. Only Steel Talons get those walkers. You can read about Steel Talons in Intelligence Database in the game.
The fact you posted this 15 years later is just amazing!! and I totally appreciate it as I am only just now getting round to kanes wrath lol liked and subbed your a star!!!
@@ghost1895live they also do in KW. KW even added the railgun skin im pretty certain both gdi and ST get railguns on rigs and guardians in the basic KW without any community patches. Some community patches might have changed that but in the last developer Patch it should be like that
In Tib Wars (the version I play, at least) the Rigs and Guardians don’t have railguns at all. In KW, they gain the upgrade when you get it in the Tech Center
Steel Talon's problem seems to be that even in what is supposed to be their forte (ground-based heavy armor), they don't even excel over vanilla GDI. Those mechs are supposed to be mighty glacier, but they are more glacial than mighty. And even lategame GDI can beat the crap out of lategame Steel Talons because they can put Zone Troopers inside the MARV.
Slight correction: vanilla GDI also gets the railgun upgrade on the Guardian cannon, although there is no icon when clicking on it that tells about the upgrade.
Steel Talon is at best the subfaction of GDI that is a reminder of the Second Tiberium War. If anyone here played Tiberian Sun, you know what I'm talking about. Zocom however is another story
Honestly for me the least favorite or less flexible sub faction of GDI is the Steel Talons, I kinda didn't like using em in gameplay. Me personally kinda split between GDI and Zocom, because one is a good all rounder z and the other is good but more specialized against Tiberium radiation/weaponry and sonic spams.
I like old school Talons but their mechs lack punch. Played a friend and while their units look beefy, they kinda dont do much damage? It felt weird. My TibSun brain cant handle that
It’s shame that steel talons suffer from being *before* the events of cnc3 being a prequel-sequel faction meaning they don’t get the stuff like sonic weapons
They’d be a lot more viable if they at least had the Mammoth Walker and some advanced infantry. Think of like, Zone Troopers with Gatling lasers (straight out of Fallout). Or maybe cloaked walkers and tanks. Think of the horror of a Mammoth Tank battalion being stealthed. The advanced/experimental weapon division of the GDI aren’t all that advanced/experimental.
@@azzythechristianfurry yea I was thinking ion weapons as well ion troopers and maybe switch sonic weapons for ion weapons for the mammoth walkers (think mammoth mk4 from the last custom tib ensense mission) and make unique late game aircraft like a Kodak (under a different name) would of made the faction more unique however sadly wouldn’t have happened as Kane’s earth seems very rushed
Very disappointing that steel talons didn’t bring back other classic infantry as exclusives for steel talons like disc throwers, jump jet infantry and heck why not a unit similar to the ghost stalker but a GDI version using the same type of weapon that was shown in a Tiberium sun cutscene when that one GDI trooper used a powerful blaster that one shotted the cyborgs.
Easier way to explain 1.Vanilla Gdi 2.Zocom -No artillery -Shock Weaponary -Aviation -Counter scrin 3. Steel Talons -Walkers -Adaptive armor -Pls buff Behemoth -No f****** sonic emitter -Titan that can Shoot behind any building and can step on any unit
it is a crime against humanity that Steel Talons didn't get Mammoth MK2 walker. instead they still use MARV.

I could've sworn vanilla gdi rigs and guardian cannons benefited from rail guns
They did in normal cnc3 not kane's wrath

@@TheDude50447 It's back in the most recent 1.02+ patches. Rig can get rail guns as can guardian cannons.

Steel talons:
Titans/mamoth + railguns + adaptive armor + railguns accelerators support power + repairing apc = tonns of damage and hp
This is a really well editted and smooth video, it explains it very clearly and I'm willing to watch it even though I know all this stuff.

Firehawks can't get hardpoints if you're playing ZOCOM faction
Whoops.
:D
@@TheStrategistYT Zocom Firehawks had ceramic armor instead of Hardpoints
Compared to the generals in C&C Zero Hour, the changes are, to put it mildly, very restrained.
he is so underrated, this is like the only videos on this
One thing to note is that the Steel Talons Blood Hounds support power is different in the fact that they deploy with two Wolverines instead of APC's

I somehow love the heavy harvester from the steel talons!
You forgot how OP Steel Talons Mobile Repair Vehicle.
It can repair garison buildings that you control

I wouldn’t add any stealth tho as it’s nod’s thing
Hold it, zocom out right replaces hard points with ceramic, so the jet can't get hard points as zocom
I still think it is weird steel talon use the slingshot and not just an APC with a flak gun
