@@DreadGrimReaperhere Black hand trumps anything cheap cheap powerful infinity lol blue flam will take up entire base down in a blink the only rival is armored chopper carriers that splash damage that shoot out missles.... Black hand
I feel that Black Hand set themselves apart from regular Nod better than MOK does. The focus on Cabal and flame weapon is very distinctive, and the lack of stealth and airforce is also noticeable.
Interesting. When I was younger it was the opposite for me, especially because of the Cyborgs, Awakened, and Tiberium Troopers, but I see what you mean.
You also forgot that the purifier comes with a flamethrower attached to it, and benefits from the purifying flame upgrade like all black hand flame units do. Black hand commandos also start at heroic veterancy when trained, flame tanks also start at veteran status when trained. Any black hand troopers tied to militant squads also benefit from purifying flame. There's more changes there with infantry (MoK gets cyborgs, for instance), but this was a good start.
It may not be competitively viable, but lining the black hand purifiers up in a line and having them auto move comb through a turtles base with their blue fire is one of the most satisfying things ever.
Not having an air tower is so stupid and artificial excuse by game developer in an effort to make factions different. Instead game developers should have given these factions exclusive units and buildings.
Apart from the standard bike buggy the factions play very differently. Vanilla Nod has the popular mass scorpions with laser upgrade tactic. Black hand gets huge value out of massed basic infantry due to the cheap black hand member upgrade. MoK is imo the most difficult to play since its unique tactic is disabling enemy armor with emp of their basic and elite infantry. Its micro intensive and their completely lack of flame weapons makes it extra hard. Of course these are not the only faction unique tactics but just an overview.
Yea, black hand usually wants to flame tank rush or reckoner BH rush to try to end the game early. Due to how expensive purifiers are they struggle to keep up in the late game.
Fun facts: Black hand rocket squads can get tiberium infusion if you research it from a nod/mok secret shrine. Reckoners benefit from dozer blades (you missed this) Mantis in vanilla is the worst AA unit in the game. In 1.02+ it becomes one of the best. Beam cannons can use hammerheads for their reflector beam ability. Obelisk can be empowered by a maximum of 4 beam cannons. Black hand is one of the strongest factions in the game dominating the tournament and competative scene for years until its nerfs in r12. Its still regarded as a powerful faction.
Mok Awakened infantry benefits from the Black Hand particle beam upgrade. if the scanner pack research finishes the zone trooper railguns are instantly reloaded. finishing the extra hardpoints upgrade reloads firehawks and orcas mid flight even if they had expended all their ammo already. timed correctly several Avatars can share the same donor vehicle like a beam cannon or stealth tank. Steel Talons titan is the only vehicle in the game with 3 visible damage states.
The mantis basically takes the place of the stealth tank, it trades stealth, speed, and the ability to target ground in exchange for a much lower price tag, lower tech requirement, and stealth detection. Because, you know, a stealthless stealth tank would be a bit nonsensical.
Would you do this for the other factions scrin reaper 17 and traveler 59. And then GDI steel talons and zocom this is pretty helpful for a beginner like myself
@@TheStrategistYT Good luck with finishing school and your military career. I can't imagine how busy you're keeping! You should try "One vision" mode. Really cool upgrades and support powers, such as Nuclear component for the Renegades (this is the classic NOD called there). You can literally shoot nukes from Specter, or drop nuclear bombs from the Vertigo.
for units that receive different upgrades between subfactions (Venom, Shredder Turret) I think it would be helpful to have the number data in terms of what that does for their damage output if you could find it. Might be helpful for new players to know how impactful or not impactful those differences are.
Black hand harvesters cannot stealth, mok disruption towers are half price, the purifier costs 3000 instead of 2200 and only affects infantry like a confessor or voice of kane, the buffs do not stack. And i think the black hand and mok raider buggies detect stealth, not sure about that one that might be an R19 update. If barracks or research from opposing nod factions is obtained upgrades can affect sub factions that don't normally recieve them like black hand rockets recieving tib infusion from nod
I figured that saying that Black Hand doesn't have stealth covered it. I didn't write down prices to compare them until the GDI video (which I haven't posted yet).
After watching this video, I feel that Westwood and EALA really lost their mind by giving Nod tanky units like Reckoners, Avatars and Redeemers. In C&C3 and Kanes Wrath, Nod playstyle is identical to GDI. It takes out Nod's uniqueness out from the game and story lore. Because the inclusion of Reckoners, Avatars and Redeemers defeats the purpose of using Buggies, Cyborgs, Attack Bikes, Flame Infantries, Light Tanks and Stealth Tanks, where in C&C1 and C&C2 when playing as Nod you have to resort to hit and run tactics, this what made Nod's unique to the game, and what made Nod different from GDI. GDI on the other hand is mainly focusing on survivability and firepower. I hope future RTS developers will take notes from this case.
