Aida tells the story of a tragic conflict between love of country and the love between an Egyptian soldier and a prisoner of war. Radames, the conqueror of Aida’s country, is to receive the hand of the Pharoah’s daughter in recognition of his victory, but he is in love
with Aida. When, in planning to run away with her he accidentally reveals a military secret, he is condemned to death as a traitor. Aida joins him in the tomb in which he is sealed,
and they die together. The Triumphal Scene is a grand spectacle at the gates of the City of Thebes, where Radames is returning home, victorious in battle, bringing his defeated enemies with him.
This unforgettable afternoon of breathtaking music and soaring voices showcases some of the most beloved opera choruses ever written, performed by an exceptional group of musicians featuring San Jose Symphonic Choir, De Anza College Chorale and Vintage Singers under the direction of IIan Glassman, DMA, Conductor. Soloists Soprano Karli Sharp, Mezzo Soprano IIaria Sacchi and Tenor Raul Villasenor under the direction of Anthony Quartuccio, Music Director - Nova Vista Symphony.
