They sure had judged him based on appearance & his humility. Pierce, or whatever his name, can be a pompous dude as I’ve seen when he’s interviewed folks. The look that he gives when Paul says, ‘I’m going to sing opera’, & then the look that follows when Paul starts singing, is priceless, like he’d gotten slapped. Amanda is even condescending even after he made her wet herself....’lump of coal turned into a diamond’, ‘frog turned into a prince’. She almost passed out.
Paul you are my hero for real. You grew up getting bullied which lead to you not having any self confidence. You were on the low end of the totem pole no one even seen you coming, yet you had the courage and strength to step on a international stage and blew everyone's mind. You are a role model man.
Paul comes out so humble and insecure to the stage, he becomes a lion when he sings and then he is the same humble man he was when he came to the stage. Amazing!
His first performance won it. It was in that performance his true self burst out of. Nothing quite matches that moment. The look in his eyes is special, it's the only time he has this look. It's as if he is in a trance, it's sadness, despair, determination, and retribution.
I can’t get enough of this fellow, Paul!!!! I just want to keep watching him and listening to him! As Simon says, he just wants Paul to do well or win or somesuch! That’s the way I feel! He is so humble and since he was bullied as a kid and fell and broke his tooth or teeth in the front, etc. oh, also being very much in debt I think when he came to the competition! I just want him to succeed, succeed, succeed! I think he deserves it!
Wow couple of years later I'm watching Sir Potts performing a Nussen Dorma wow !wow! really when God has decided its your time no one will take the spot light from you. God keep blessing you more, shame to the judging never judge a person by their appearance
I agree. I'm Mrs Darley and I'm a retired classical singing teacher. Some of my pupils are now professional classical singers in the UK but in all the hundreds of beginners I've thankfully brought forward, with God, I didn't want to believe any 'hype ' about Britain's Got Talent singer winner Paul Potts because the parents of my pupils were constantly telling me about how good his voice is. I didn't want to believe any hype in case it would be disappointing as I don't want any more disappointment. So, by 2020, Britain's Got Talent 2007 popped up on my screen and I thought, I'm retired so I won't feel the disappointment so much now. I had to protect myself from possible disappointment because I have Major Depression medically. So I took the chance on 13th June 2020 to listen to Paul Potts for the first time and I am so glad I did because now I have awoken to what my pupil's parents were saying all along! All good things come from God therefore for God to allow us to have this person with this voice actually glorifies God. Praise God that Mr Potts has wife and home and extended family. I only hope that he knows how blessed he is and that he is singing now to glorify the Lord! Amen +Jesus and Mary and Joseph+
I had heard Pavarotti's interpretation of this sublime song before. It always sounded technically perfect, but not as heartfelt as this interpretation sounds. So emotional. Being inspired by this even in 2019.

My parents instilled in me a deep appreciation for music, all genres of music. My mother lived classical such as this. I remember her and I cleaning house or making dinner for the family and wonderful singers like Paul Potts on the classical radio station back in Detroit were singing. I didn't get it back then, I just enjoyed spending time with my Mom. I lost my Mom on August 28th, 2001 to cancer, two weeks before the 911 attacks. I was in service at the time and home on emergency leave. I was recalled the day after New York and Washington DC were hit. And I won't forget the Pennsylvania field. But that was shadowed by the loss of my mother. I never really had the opportunity to grieve for my Mom. I listen to this beautiful music to thus day and for a few moments I'm connected with my mother again. I still don't understand what they are saying, but that's okay, I don't have to know. To my Mother, I get it now Mom. Over 18 years later and there is still a hole in my heart that can not be filled. I miss and love you so much Mom.
My beautiful dad and I used to watch this video together. We enjoyed it so much. I can't forget my dad either. I often dream about him and cry sometimes. My only comfort is my wife and little daughter.

Ive listened to every version of nesu dorma but only Paul's versión makes cry every single time. He sings with his heart and touches yours for a split second.
I love Poul, person who day to day struggle becomes a superstar ( at least for me) every time I watch his audition my eyes are dripping... best of luck, you deserve it Paul!
'Nessun dorma...' 'Let no one sleep...' No one would be after that. They would all have to be on their feet, cheering their heads off. Even Simon had tears in his eyes at 14:14
funny thing is. i already knew paul potts in bgt. then one day i just watched this movie on my tv without knowing is about him. the moment almost the end when he went to bgt im blown away , this is paul potts story!!
My favorite Aria from Turandot by Giacomo Puccini! As an executive music producer, I knew from the first time he began to sing one of the most difficukt Arias, he was going to win! Bravo Paul! Bravo!

For those of you who aren't opera aficionados or understand Italian, the last lines Paul sang "... All’alba vincerò! Vincerò! Vincerò!" translates to "At dawn, I will win. I will win. I will win." And Paul did. I always wonder if Paul planned it.

They didn’t learn from this, they did the same thing with a certain Scottish singer a few years later, can’t remember her name though……😉
