Darksiders 3 is a much more challenging game, compared to the previous ones. The combat is slower, dodges are less effective and invulnerability windows were severely reduced. They were especially short on apocalyptic, but it was changed in the recent patch, which I didn't test yet.

I like how they acknowledge that the glow of the talisman reveals when one of the Seven is nearby, but she doesn't notice how it is glowing when it's just her and the Watcher. Neat bit of foreshadowing.
Yeah it was constantly glowing when the watcher was around.
Holy crap that's why? I though it was glowing because classic game sparkly glow effects, perhaps I played too much Darksiders 2
yeah i only realized it in my 3th playthrough that the talisman didn't glow in the fake envy cutscene until she teleported near fury. nice detail from the developers and maybe fury didn't realize this because she only saw it glowing from the beginning and more sins makes it glow harder maybe?

Lust KNEW the watcher was Envy! The way she looked at her at 36:38 makes me think that.

@@lprules619 That first sin was a fake, Envy (disguised as a Watcher) told Fury that the closest sin would be Envy so that Fury would assume the first enemy she encountered was Envy. She need Fury to kill bird Envy in order to get the Talisman of Sin, which was essential to her plan

This Franchise always had amazing character designs.

I was a little bored with some of the boss designs in their representation of each sin, but with sloth, they definitely got his mindset right, and had a different idea for design than I was expecting.
Makes me feel genuinely remorseful you can't get a game over where you end up sitting down with him, and never getting up (that's how he beats you!). That'd be a creative death.
Also why are Abraxis' Wings rotated upside down?
@@biorevolver123765 all demons have their wings upside down in this series. Samael and Lilith being perfect examples. I think it represents how they have fallen from the glory of Heaven.

Honestly, it's the most awesome concept of Lust I've ever see in fiction.
Not just a sexual sort of predators or bimbo. Something really deeper. The pure expression of desires, the tentation, the corruption. A vile snake with a poison tongue, who search deeply in you and give you illusions of your most secrets desires.

I know this comment 1 year old but I'm gonna say it anyways. The way lust is depicted is actually how it is in the bible or whatever. "An extreme desire of smth" so kudos to the developers for knowing what original lust supposed to mean.
Little note: The changed invulnerability periods aren't really a thing for apocalpytic. They are still a fair bit shorter than on challenging. The most difference it made was for the story mode, which got a severe increase in that aspect.
Lust saying that she’d give you envy’s location makes more sense after completing the game considering the “envy” you fight at the beginning isn’t even a real sin

@@raddude4334 Which does show some continuity problems. Envy uses the talisman on Fury and Fury doesn't vanish but when Fury used the Talisman on the Birb, she did.
But I am more curious as to how the Council let Envy disguise herself as the Watcher. I mean the game implied the Council released the sins to begin with, more or less a ploy by Pride to distract Fury (if it aint true at all) which if that is so, why would Envy storm the Council like that? There's a lot of questions DS3 brought to the already present table now =/ I wish they did more to flesh that plot out.

@@FatalFist that talisman could imprison a soul only when the body is wrecked and dead so if Fury isn't dead her souls is safe. that is a powerful artifacts who can absorb power as well so Fury was weackened by it. Envy was free from the start and was spying on the council, they knew she was there and they say or did nothing ablut it. She decided to cast an illusion on herself to follow Fury and help her killing all the sin and then take the power of the amulet for herself.

Or was there some kind of switch when Wrath killed Fury? But then, the first battle with Envy - her aura was white and not green like the others. What was the deal with that? Why the bird creature presumed to be Envy?

I hope that with the breaking of the seventh seal by Uriel in the first Darksiders, that Rampage returns to Fury's side. Given War was brought back to life when the seal was broken after Uriel fulfilled their death oath, plus Death's return after sacrificing himself at the Well Of Souls, it would make sense for Rampage to receive the same treatment in spite of what happened to her (well, to me at least).

The reason being that all the seven deadly sins are connected. None of them exist solely on their own. Each sin is connected to another.
Pride is apparently the worst of all

People tend to confuse pride with confidence. Pride in excess can be deadly , a great example would be people who are narcissistic or suffering from narcissistic personality disorder, as theyre blinded by their pride and self-righteousness , resulting in lack of empathy

I loooooove that they integrated minor elements of the usual Lust design into them, but didn't lean at all on sex appeal. Instead, they're portrayed as the lust for power and status. The things that motivate you, taken out of control.
As Fury explained before the Lust we know are human concepts. The Lust is the representation of our deep desires....can appear as he want anyone....that makes the Lust dangerous.
I like Abraxis the best, but I love Pride's design especially how different it is compared to the others.

After the pain of fighting gluttony I thought to myself the game wouldn't have a harder boss that him. I didn't want to be right.
Just finished this , I liked it , and like that it was more action based rather than some of the rediculous puzzles in the first two games .
I love that Envy is a vulture. That just really sells the image of an entity centered around the sin of jealous envy.
Then when envy becomes the finale boss she got a drastice design change with 4 arms could you explain why she looks like that n9w

@@cooper9617 I think it's their thing to change their appearance. Her final design in the final battle is a mockery of the 4 horseman, look at her mask similar to how Death's mask, armor similar to Fury, and the guns to Strife, etc.

Anyone else notice how Wrath threw the first fight to get the upper hand? He threw his weapon down. It didn’t slip from his hands like a defeated enemy would. Then he waited for his chance.
Everytime she points that artifact at each of the sins, I keep wanting to keep saying the name of each sin and treat them as Pokemon and tell them to return like she is recalling them into the artifact like a Pokeball

Okay, so War and Illidan Stormrage in World of Warcraft have the same voice actor, but he uses the exact same voice. That's pretty nifty and works well for both characters!
How do they make Lust sound like a mix between a man’s and a woman’s voice? Does he/she have 2 voice actors and they blend the lines together or is it just one voice actor who is REALLY good at sounding like both sexes?
It's the work of a single voice actor, Jason Spisak. Seems like he is just really good in that regard.

I just listened to him and i don't think he could do a voice like that natural but either way its good voice. Like everyone you think Lust going to be sexy but she's a cool and calm schemer baiting people with their hearts desire.
Jason Spisak, though he's not the first one to do this -- the person who voiced Lezard Valeth for VALKYRIE PROFILE on the original PlayStation did a similar job. It just shows the difference between a good VA and an AWESOME one.

I am amazed at how good you are at this game, people say this is like dark souls but to me its NOT. I beated all the bosses in ringed city and the base game without taking damage but I played darksiders 3 one the hardest difficulty and I died a lot on every boss but pride, much less do a no damage run, gluttony was the worse by the way I died 8 times before I beat him. I just really want to know how many times you practiced this, to get this good. The game had too many glitch for me to keep playing after I beat the game. Just really want to know if this is the type of game your good at and if so have you ever tried to do a no damage run of kingdom hearts. if you ever do one for KH 3 I watch it, anyway you got a new subscriber. Anyway if you can please answer back.

lapetitepatate1 darksiders one has a far greater combat system. Even that has bare bones variety compared to combat games but it’s far higher than darksiders 3. I hate what they did to this game.

Came here to see how in the earth can Gluttony get destroyed so easily. Took me around 10 times to beat him once on normal.
Yeah hardest boss in the game for me as well, especially the first part. Second part was a cakewalk though.

I guess it lacked style more than anything. I mean, she's supposed to be a fucking warrior of the apocalypse. Yet she barely feels like a superhuman fighter at all. In fact, her overall skill seems to drop, not increase over the game.
The last battle was pathetic. The battle with Wrath had way better coreography.
Kudos man 4 the work put into the flawless run.
I found the last envy fight rather.. poorly optimized. The devs could ramp up the difficulty a lot more in my opinion. I fought the boss numerous times without her ever using the pistols she has. Alright, she used them once but I do not know what triggers it. The boss is too clumsy, that's what I'm after. MORE DIFFICULTY!!!
Motorius Drax yeah. I died to her only two or 3 times the her attack pattern became way to easy to predict and dodge.

I’m getting dark crystal feelings from the very first boss
The subtle crush Wrath has on Fury is ever so mildly adorable. He is a physical embodiment of violent anger and hatred, and yet he FLIRTED WITH FURY upon seeing her going ham against enemies.
When I first saw this and saw that Jones was actually Strife, Rider of the White Horse I was actually very surprised I am going to guess that the other matters that the Council said he was attending to must have been to help the makers protect humanity and now he has entrusted that responsibility to Fury, the Horsemen and their game Darksiders just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the good work Makers of this game
I think Strife is gone rogue and learned about council conspiracy. So he works against council.
I love how every game is different. DS1 was simple and small bits to explore. DS2 was a full rpg with amazing loot and more to explore. DS3 is was more like dark souls. Now all we need is DS4 and see how they do it.

The voice of The Lord of Hollows sounds very bombastic. In terms of intonation, it almost sounds like Unicron's voice from the Transformers Generation 1 movie.

I think it is just so he doesn't take up too much space. I quite like the change in how lust looked. Most go for some sexy or overly sexualized character. So the change felt nice.
Abraxis is one of my favorite bosses character wise, but his fight was really boring unfortunately. :/

btw, I came here for the hollow lord. I always spare him because I heard that theres non reward whatsoever for killing him, and seeing this makes me really wonder why one would kill him. his death animation is literally identical to when he dies be natural causes at the end of the "spare" option, except fury does not get a reward for killing him. like srsly? nothing?
