  • In this video, we dive into how to treat subscapularis trigger points, a lesser-known but crucial muscle that can be a big source of shoulder pain and discomfort. The subscapularis is part of your rotator cuff, and when trigger points develop in this muscle, it can lead to deep, aching pain in the shoulder, sometimes even radiating down the arm or into the upper back.
We’ll start by discussing the common causes of subscapularis trigger points, like overuse, poor posture, or repetitive movements-things that can sneak up on anyone, whether you’re an athlete or spending too much time hunched over a desk. Then we’ll talk about the symptoms, which can include restricted movement, weakness in the arm, and difficulty reaching behind your back.
Finally, we'll get into the good stuff-trigger point therapy. I’ll show you step-by-step techniques to locate and release these trigger points, using hands-on methods that can help reduce pain and restore mobility. Whether you’re a therapist looking to expand your skills or someone dealing with nagging shoulder pain, this video will give you practical tools to address subscapularis trigger points effectively.

Was on holiday and got a massage. I talked about the importance of TPT and PIR in regards to treating as she just done massage with some traction and static stretches. Did not know it existed and had been a therapist for ten years.

It's not that unusual. Whilst training standards differ vastly from place to place, in the main, massage therapists qualify knowing very little. It's when they start working that they learn through experience, from their colleagues, and hopefully through continuing professional education.
