Sad story. Every time I hear seizures it reminds me when I was 8 and my dad felt ill so he casually sat on the stairs. Then whilst I was getting changed for school I heard a this and my mom scream. She called an ambulance and he got taken away before I was headed to school, late, in tears begging my mom to go with my dad. At the end of the day I visited my dad. My mom told me about his stroke. Being I had been diagnosed with JRA at 5 the doctors said it would help with the arthritis. I remember having a couple flare ups one after the surgery another when I was 10 then nothing more till my adult years and even then not many
My doctors thought I had JRA until they did the test for it and it wasn't that. I have juvenile Fibromyalgia (im 14) instead which is very similar so I at least a little bit understand what you went through. I'm glad the flares have lessened. I hope mine do.

I am big on having tonsils out at a young age. As a child, every few months I’d get strep throat, and went into Scarlet Fever 3 times. I had chronic tonsillitis for 11 years, I missed TONS of school, and my tonsils were visibly swollen and were constantly oozing smelly puss. They wouldn’t take them out until I was 16, and it was a MISERABLE operation. That was 4 years ago, and I have been sick maybe twice since. I wish I had it done at his age!
I got my tonsils out in 1992, because I had constant sinus infections and ear infections. Didn't have any effect on my sinuses or ear infections. Then my tonsils grew back. Found out earlier this year. I want a refund for my botched surgery!!!
My bro had his out he was prob 6 or 7 maybe cant remember. thats crazy theywouldnt take them out. seems it would be better to remove at young age if they are causing constant issues
I understand Adams situation 🥺 I've ultimately had like 10 cases if not more of strep throat within a couple of months in 5th grade and pretty much lost half of 5th grade almost. Because I would get a case of strep and be sick for about 2 weeks. Be fine for about 2 weeks then another case. And it happened for a good solid few months back n forth of being fine and then getting sick. So I had to get my tonsils out

@@grayskindablue Actually no, eating regular foods actually stops infection happening. You just have to have the correct medications in order to be able to eat properly. Because I couldn't eat that's what caused my severe infection which caused me to bleed to death literally in my bathroom sink whilst my mum had an ambulance sent out. They're supposed to discharge you with dissolvable diclofenac which are pink anti inflammatory tablets you disolve in water and drink. I wasn't discharged with them I was discharged with codeine and paracetamol and had no food what so ever the whole week after my tonsillectomy. As soon as I was discharged after the bleed with the correct medication I was able to eat properly because the diclofenac numbed my throat and I was taking paracetamol which was liquid form which also helped. That is why they say eat normal foods, it's much more common for children to have a tonsillectomy and bounce back straight away, it's worse for adults which is why they refuse to do it unless you've had tonsillitis at least 4 times in at year. I had it about 20 times in 1 year from 2013-May 2014 I suffered monthly with tonsillitis sometimes even twice a month I would get it, at one point I ended up with glandular fever because of it and I was still going to work with children despite hardly being able to talk.
Wow, that’s so weird to me lol. I was told by my doctor when I had my tonsillectomy that I wasn’t allowed to eat any bread for the entire week! I survived off of popsicles and baby food, and I ended up losing more than 10 lbs by the time I got better
It's interesting. Some of these types of shows parents are balling their eyes out when their kid has a bit of anaesthetic for a couple of stitches so they don't move. And then you have parents like this, who are talking about their kid having traumatic neurosurgery and they're the parents that deal with the surgery situation the best.
Seizures are really horrible! Poor child😞I have about 10 seizures a day & it’s due to my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) easiest way to explain it, I am basically allergic to gravity like sitting & standing
"dear NASA, I hereby apply as a permanent space station resident, as I'm allergic to gravity and everyone should be able to live in a pathogen-free environment. thank you" 🥴
It looked as though one was crowding over the other lobe which can cause seizure activity. I didnt really understand exactly on that one either but it is amazing what medical science and the human body can do!
Poor Girl. Any tips on being a NICU nurse? I am age 12 and I am studying on how to be one. I can deliver a full term and a premature infant. Please make a video on this. Tell the kids I said hi!!!! - kailey
Chris Ketchum do,well in school take a lot of math and chemistry and biology ...get good grades ...I’m a RN in the USA and you have to have excellent grades to get into RN school
You in Great Britain are so lucky to have the NHS, also it proves you can have excellent care without 100% private pay. In America the insurance companies own our healthcare to the absolute detriment of so many people.
I wish these parents wouldn't talk about their child's mortality or possible mortality in front of them....especially like they're not there. They act like they can't understand what they're sayin' or don't care if they hear what they're sayin' which is worse. Insane! Also, 3 of the 4 children I have had their tonsils and adenoids removed, and they were released to go home about 30 min after the surgery. I wonder why they keep them another night there, but they don't do that here.
I always found it best to inform my children on what's going on...they have a right to know what's really going on with their bodies so they'll understand what's happening. My girls used to scream & cry when they didn't know what was happening so I started sitting them down & explaining things to them & they never cried or got upset from then on. The nurses & Drs loved my kids because they were very calm as long as they could watch everything.lol Kids understand more than you think & it's their body's so they deserve to know what's going on. Imo😊
even as someone with moderate chronic illnesses it was so normal hearing possible risks, scary possibilities, those kinds of things. sick kids know they’re sick; it’s inconsiderate and frankly cruel to keep them in the dark.
Anyone knows the cause/origin of a tonsil? Is there no permanent cure without surgery? I am sure it is not genetic since I never had tonsillitis before I was 14. Is pollution, sour diet and dust the reason, as Delhi is a very polluted city, and I was there since I was 9 in 2010. I really hate tonsil, the night after the attack is torturous, I need to add ginger in my water to drink it when that happens.
I am sorry but that is not known as inflation of the brain my daughter has this hemimegalencephaly as well and what happens when the baby is developing in the womb half of the brain develops wrong and it can cause seizures. Now I dont know if cbd can cure this but I have heard that no known seizure medication can cure these seizures from happening. And in most cases the surgery is a last resort doctors try everything else to help the child.
@@sheyennemerritt3215Yes and no, cannabis in itself is not a “drug" much different than any other drug you would give anyone for an illness, it's the common misuse of it as a recreational drug that made it illegal and stigmatized, now, I don't think it can “cure” all illnesses specially genetic ones, but it has legitimate medicinal uses in some of it's forms and for some conditions it can really be the only medicine that works. Demonizing cannabis has led to some places where children with certain disabilities can be legally prescribed with it but they can't go to school because the system thinks their life saving medicine is a danger even if it doesn't get them “high”, just allows them to function. Kids can get high with glue too and the health risks from that are way worse than cannabis use- even recreational use of cannabis, but glue isn't illegal for them to use it at school despite the fact that they don't need it for their bodies to function and it has no medicinal purposes.

Wow, that’s so weird to me lol. I was told by my doctor when I had my tonsillectomy that I wasn’t allowed to eat any bread for the entire week! I survived off of popsicles and baby food, and I ended up losing more than 10 lbs by the time I got better
NO YOUNGSTER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH HAVING SEIZURES
My step mom has had seziures since she was born. It's scary af to see it
I had a very bad seizure back n 2010 and was rushed to the hospital and I'm medication for it now thank God
Oh the poor little girl so sad
Laura is a cutie pie
Not crying (damn onions)
as of 2020, Owen is 15 years old
I hope it’s not something that serious for me having seizures
It's interesting. Some of these types of shows parents are balling their eyes out when their kid has a bit of anaesthetic for a couple of stitches so they don't move. And then you have parents like this, who are talking about their kid having traumatic neurosurgery and they're the parents that deal with the surgery situation the best.
Maybe they have gotten more used to it.
I'd say it's because 1. During stitches a child can feel it you can see there pain 2. Could be used to it 3. Parents aren't in the room during surgery
Do not know when can he go home from the hospital

I had to get my tonsils out too, had all the same symptoms including vomiting.
So was the tumor going to or likely to come back or was there a very small possibility? Because apparently the answer depends on whom you ask
Seizures are really horrible! Poor child😞I have about 10 seizures a day & it’s due to my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) easiest way to explain it, I am basically allergic to gravity like sitting & standing
"dear NASA, I hereby apply as a permanent space station resident, as I'm allergic to gravity and everyone should be able to live in a pathogen-free environment. thank you" 🥴
I noticed the first little girl has her hands on her face .Poor little one looks lost 💔😢On her face alot .
I am PKU PKU helps control my seizures
For the little girl question was it just one side that was causing her seziures?
Millisa Gable looked and sounded like it
It seems that because both sides where abnormal they were both misfiring so they took the worst of side
Yes it was just one side, so they took it out.
I think it was that one side pushing against the other that caused them.
- kailey

You in Great Britain are so lucky to have the NHS, also it proves you can have excellent care without 100% private pay. In America the insurance companies own our healthcare to the absolute detriment of so many people.
It’s in Ireland
@@Yukki_roblox24 Ireland is in the uk.
Stupid tories are slowly privatising our NHS.
@@danielledewitt1 Not the Republic of Ireland, the NHS is only for the UK, the Irish have their own health care system.
@@alisonsmith4801 Well I’m in england uk.

@@colleen_dallas that's scary lol
you know if we didnt have doctors then everyone would be sick.
Imo😊
Cynthia Rodriguez id be concerned if they were released 30mins after the surgery.
My parents have ALWAYS told me everything when it comes to my healthcare. I have numerous health issues.
even as someone with moderate chronic illnesses it was so normal hearing possible risks, scary possibilities, those kinds of things. sick kids know they’re sick; it’s inconsiderate and frankly cruel to keep them in the dark.
Why do you think God allows little children to go through such terrible ordeals?
I got my tonsils removed too when I was like 4 lol, I was so happy to get surgery for some reason
Weed helps seizures
It never helped me but It can help some people
Queen I take cannabis oil for mine.
RISHAV BHOWMIK its an infection
hemiumeglifvkefliy otherwise known as inflammation, the same as ALL conditions, which Cannabis Cures!
Not to mention that IT'S AN ILLEGAL DRUG and NOT TOLLERABLE FOR A CHILD TO CONSUME IN ANY FORM. JESUS CHRIST, DON'T GIVE DRUGS TO KIDS!
This music is sooooo annoying.
How long day have to miss school how long is the surgery how long did she been a serizuer every how day do not know when he getting out from the hospital to go home he can have a milk shake are a smooth are jelly are a ice cream his class meat can visit him at the home are in the hospital he need a get well soon gift
all these british couples are either 50 with 2 year olds or 14 with newborns, what has happened and why do they all look so freaking old to have kids that young..
British? It's the Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin, IRELAND. So most people are probably Irish.
Those kids are ALL clearly loved, wanted and cared for well. So what does it matter how old their parents are?
Sit down Jessica, stop typing, engage your brain...or maybe not, just stop. Idiot.
Jessica Anne I’m British n had my kids in my 20s these are Irish 😂 😂
Jessica Anne - these are Irish people. These series are filmed in 🇮🇪.
