    Also side note on the tires: They are the Falken Wildpeak A/T 275/60R20. Have about 30k miles on them now, and been great so far. Have done great on mild off road trips, beach trip, and good in the rain. There are lots of options out there, but for me they are a great value, I would buy again.

    I learned after my first change to use tinfoil to cover the rack/crossmember and roughly form a funnel in it. The oil pours itself into the pan while you undo the filter. When done the truck is clean. Thanks again for another vid. 👍🏼🇨🇦

    Oil change went good. My ‘13 Laramie Longhorn has a 7/16” Drain plug. The oil filter was a living hell with the HD Tow Package. Good Video 👍🇺🇸

    Do you run your oil a pacific milage or do you change your oil when the truck tells you to change it?

    • @PhatPharmacist

      I go by the oil life meter on the truck, works well

    If I have a flexible panel air filter instead of the kind of filter in your video, I just skip that step and clean out my air filter?

      Unless it’s a washable or reusable filter, recommend to replace with new filter.

    for 120k, which i assume is well over 200k by now that RAM is def taken care of. I currently own a 2013 Ram 1500 and it has 126k miles and oh boy, you can tell it's been through a couple things. Though, I can't really complain because I got it for a decent price.

    How often do you change your oil buddy? Beautiful truck by the way

    • @PhatPharmacist
      @PhatPharmacist  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks. This truck happens to have an oil life meter that alerts me when time to do oil change. But Ive been averaging about 5k to 6k between oil changes.

      PhatPharmacist okay great deal then you still used Mobil 1 or do you use other brands as well?

    • @PhatPharmacist
      @PhatPharmacist  4 роки тому

      Classic Jay I tend to use Mobil 1 in all my vehicles for years, never had any issues, so been good product for me. My Lambo is a recent purchase and I’ll be doing an oil change on that too, using Mobil 1. Prolly make a video for the channel, so will see how complicated that process is.

      PhatPharmacist okay good deal do you think amsoil is worth the hype in our hemi engines?

    • @PhatPharmacist
      @PhatPharmacist  4 роки тому

      Classic Jay that question unfortunately can’t answer as I have never used Amsoil. Although I have heard good reviews. I think The new Oil technology of today is way better than it was 20 years or so ago, so I’m sure there are other solid options similar to Mobil 1 so kinda comes down to cost and one’s preference.

    Fyi the mobil super synthetic is the only one that has the MS- certification ram recommends.

      There are a few high end synthetics that have the Chrysler ms-6395 I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

      What filter u guys use? I just got one of these trucks. It says the mopar filter but it doesn't say it's for synthetic oil

    • @jakemason9436
      @jakemason9436 4 роки тому +1

      Wix 57060XP and Fram XG10060 both are premium for synthetic. Oil is pretty "clean" when I change it at 5-7000 kilometers. I don't push my oil change in a hemi. I try to use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum most if the time. (buy it when it's half price). It actually meets/exceeds Chrysler specs.

      Im a proud owner of a 2009 1500. 5.7 Hemi I was told it hold 7 quarts but when u change the oil u can use 6 because not all the oil gone drain out of the motor. I would reccommend checking the dip stick after 6 quarts just to be safe.!!! GO PATRIOTS LONG LIVE T. BRADY THE GOT DAMMM GOAT😎

    If the truck has 120k miles why are you using a very thin oil? Why not use 10 40 thicker high mileage oil?

    • @biz4twobiz463
      @biz4twobiz463 4 роки тому +1

      Because the Owners manual says to use 5w-20. It is irrelevant to the number of miles the engine has. Keep in mind, the thinner oil reaches the top of the engine and other vital areas quicker (cold start ups where most wear happens)...and easier. Stay with the recommended oil...and the engine will reward you!!

    • @rauleascobedo2

      whit hemy engines you have to use thin oil because of the stupid mds sistem

    Mobile 1 Sythetic (psst it's not sythetic, it's a group 3 refined Petro oil) and I hate that they are allowed to lie to consumers and get away with it.
