Distant Horizons is a Level of Detail mod for Minecraft. Level of Detail meaning things further away become lower quality in order to save on resources. This lets you expand your render distance FAR beyond what is normally possible. 128 chunks is not even close to the possible limit of render distance with this mod.
Distant Horizons is available for Minecraft Java Edition 1.16 up to the latest version for both Fabric and Forge.

I keep searching the ENTIRE end just to find ONE end city, while you found like FIFTEEN while still on the bossfight island. This mod is insane.
It is so cool the other end islands around the main island.
The nether with no fog+Distant horizons looks more like Las Vegas (but you can see what they don't tell you unless you lose) than a creepy dimension where I lost a Unbreaking III, Fortune, Mending Diamond Pickaxe
Please test with vanilla render distance 2 with high DH render distance
Wheni use this mod I can see the outlines of every chunk and sometimes they turn completely black
could you do a tutorial on how to install
tutorial on how to use?
Not working on 1.20.1
Why do i get crashed when i try to run it?
How do I increase the render distance for the fake chunks??????
Is possible to play online in vanilla servers with this mod?
Yes, but you will only generate LODs for chunks in your render distance, so you'll only be able to see places that you have visited.
Does it effect fps
It definitely does. At least with the more insane render distances. I think running it at 64 or even at just 32 is still extremely worth it since doing so without the mod is basically impossible without a very powerful setup.
You can also mess with the mod settings to make it less intensive (if you experience stutters, try turning down vertical quality).
The mod is also compatible with sodium which gives an insane FPS boost compared to vanilla and optifine.
Barely. I can set my DH render distance to 512 and it runs at 200fps. It only lags if you're actively caching or generating new chunks.
@@SnrubSource me lags when I move one meter.
Riki
Forge?
it works on both forge and fabric
the nether is suposed to have a maximum of 12 render distance by design, its the way they balanced the nether, using more is kinda cheating.
