Vehicle Carry Considerations

- In this shot from the hip video I try to cover all the bases on vehicle carry considerations. We are all different and we all have different priorities, as well as access to different capabilities and weapons. So, I display what I could possibly do with what I have and give some general guidelines to go by.

Hey thanks! Its the first video with the new camera. The old camera was amazing too, but this one just has that pizazz I wanted.
I was just saying it’s better then some 2 mil channels lol
@@HUNTERCOPELR well damn thanks for the compliment! 🇺🇲
I think another good point to mention is your vehicle isn't covered in stickers and exterior accessories that could cause attention, or worse, interest. I think that's a pretty important urban greyman thing to consider. Don't stand out, and just blend in. A lot of gun guys make themselves a target with this.
yea they do. itll be a video in the future. solid point.
All my gun stickers and 2a ones I’ve gotten over the years go on my ammo cans and safe
I have conscious thoughts of "I bet there is a gun in THAT vehicle" when I see that crap.
I keep all my Military, NRA and Weapon Stickers in the Man Cave and Weapon Locker NOT on the Cars because here in Central FL where I live there are many people with CWPs and many Vets like myself but you can tell which have guns in their cars then they CRY on TV when they have their cars stolen!
@@WoodLifeActual haha I thought I was the only one.
"a gun inside a vehicle that you are not going to be around... is a liability" Sage words. Awesome advise!
I found a baseball bat bag on clearance that holds rifles well.
I know some fellas that do the same exact thing lol good shit
agreed. i should have mentioned it. only thing is i dont have any or i would have displayed it.
ill do a follow up in the future. no worries.
Been using a baseball bat bag for my HK 91 for years. Threw in a little extra foam and GTG.
defending yourself with a bat is so much more bad ass

One technique to consider is using one of the dog hammocks in the backseat of your vehicle. It completely covers view of your floor boards, however when you open the back door you still have access under the hammock. I ride with my pup a lot and I keep the hammock installed as a method of concealment. Getting one that matches the color of your interior is even better (such as black for myself) Also, tint your windows with the darkest tint you can legally have. (or illegally if you like to live on the wild side, just be ready to pay a ticket) I work with the homeless daily and every day I encounter some other wild ass situation, So I think about this a lot.
I rock the dog hammock and it's for sure a game changer.
One of the biggest reasons I watch you is because you always give all these safety considerations and thoughts on responsible ownership. You don’t see too many people talk about those things and whenever you bring it up you have some fudds shutting people down. One of the bags I have is a bag I brought from REI, it’s a sling bag branded KAVU and I had someone stitch some straps in like the ones inside eberlestock bags and I just mount a holster on it for my 365 or my G19.
Amazon has a cheap $20 guitar case that has carry handles and backpack straps, with plenty of pockets. It fits my 20" platform with a full A1/A2 stock, a surplus wool blanket, my sidearm pack, and plenty of mags. I use it as my travel case and range bag, because it isn't obvious at all.
...people steal even the shittiest of guitars though...I dunno about a guitar looking case
@@langstonUSN why not put it in a fast release biosafe?
People would steal anything that may look of value, school related materials, music stuff, sports stuff, stupid stuff. People will steal anything they think will have some sort of value. The point is, is to have a bag that people won't question if there is a firearm in it, typically a bag that's on you somewhere out in the public eye. You're not gonna hide anything within a bag inside a vehicle and someone not wanting to know what's inside if they have the opportunity to get inside. You're better off not having that "pack/case" in your vehicle and have the firearm secured somewhere that's hidden or not easily found.
winner winner chicken dinner. Altho I use them primarily for bolt guns I can’t break down easily
Love the fresh approach to old subjects. Keep doing what you’re doing and you are going to blow up on here my dude! You have joined Plaid Daddy as my go to sources now! Thanks brother!
I appreciate that you don't have an obnoxious intro just straight to business and thinking.
That aside, I am waiting for the fdp-9 to hit the market for my car gun.
1- I couldn't afford something else until around the time it releases anyway.
2- I don't _really_ need it I usually have my M&P 2.0 compact on me in the car unless I am going on campus (private college I could be expelled).
3- I reeeeeally want an fdp-9
I also attend a private college. Can't even carry anything bigger than a multi-tool on my person. Not that it matters, my guns aren't small enough to conceal in my car or on my person anyways...
I put a line through that section of my school contract. School rep accepted the contract with the modifications and I took my pistol to class.
@@rbaconator I didn't own any firearms when I signed the contract a couple years ago, I bought my musket at the end of the first year and finally built an AR back in December. Really wish I had the foresight to try that.
Fun video! I definitely have a couple of thoughts.
#1. Based on my training and experience, I cannot strongly discourage enough having a firearm in a vehicle that isn't holstered on your person or locked in a container for a number of reasons. First, exactly like you stated, a weapon in your car does you no good when you are outside of it. Second, windows in a car mean nothing to a thief, and can be broken and climbed through in seconds, not minutes. Third, and often overlooked, in the event of a crash anything unsecured in the vehicle becomes a projectile especially in a rollover situation. Your fancy rifle can easily harm you while being flung around in the cabin.
#2 While not the most tactically popular, sedans offer a trunk that is often very secure without a large amount of effort. They are infinitely better to keep things you don't want stolen in.
#3 While weapons are sexy to talk about, much more important in your car are medical supplies, flares, water and food, and warm clothing/gear if you are in a cold climate.
Just realized who you are halfway through this video. Great information; great presentation. CZ Scorpion or Tavor SAR for me. Subscribed. Keep up the great work.
For about the last year since covid has hit I have been carrying around my truck gun. 10.5 AR pistol and I am keeping it in a old dewalt sawzall case. I work construction and had a sawzall crap out on me and figured I would repurpose the case so I cut out all the interior walls and sprayed some adhesive and put some foam padding in there. I also have two 40 round mags 3 30 round mags and two 20 round mags along with a 10 rounder in it. I have to have the law tactical folder on it to get it to fit but it does. It slides up under the back seat in my truck and I keep a tool bag in front of it so when I open the back door I can just slide it right out the side.
Great videos man keep doing what you're doing
The first option B is basically how I have it set up.
My second favorite truck gun so far was a Yugo underfolder in a tennis racket bag. Super low profile. Could drop a couple extra mags in there, easily.
As always, great content. I appreciate your channel. I purchased a Vertex Gamut 2.0. Inside is a 8" CMMG Banshee Mk10 10mm broke down. Waiting for my Med-Kit / IFAK pieces to arrive to finish outfitting it. Don't forget your IFAK when putting a bag together.
I'm just glad to see you bud! I'm loving the actual thought you have around security. I'm glad people like you are around because we need more! Keep in the fight!
Great video!
I have that gamut 2.0. Fits my 10.5/lawfolder/flash can.
23inches folded is about the limit for the vertx gamut 2.0
I miss Seattle. Lived there in the Golden years of the 90s. It's part of CA now, just tragic. Heartbreaking. Great video!
My state of Colorado has been conquered too. And people moving here from CA, OR, WA and NY by the bus full.
I keep my PSA 10.5" AR in a black
It has a padded shoulder sling and keep multiple mags, knives, and many other EDC items.
Good video 👍🏻 When putting a bag on the floor you can recline the seats back to break up outlines in addition with the jacket over it. You could also carry in your vehicle conversion rifles. I have 2 the Colt 901 older but still effective & a fairly new Sig Virtus this way you have the best of both weapon systems. In my truck have a go bag with additional gear but normally I just carry a primary & backup all the time, unless I'm going somewhere. I can always put my Sig Rattler or a PCC in a bag & throw with the rest of the gear. Really the choices are endless it's like you said whatever fits the user & environment.
I use a tennis bag to carry my tavor.
I've actually found a backpack at Walmart that is perfect for my 10.5" AR with a Sylvan Arms Folding Adapter on it. It looks very inconspicuous, even for a "hiking bag", and the main compartment is accessable from the middle section, which opens on three sides, like a vertex hot pull bag. I can fit the 10.5" in it folded, mag in and on safe, and nobody is any the wiser. It even has the built in rain cover rolled up inside it's own pocket on the bottom, which discreetly covers the muzzle device from poking down and being noticeable. I did add some rubber mat that I cut up, to help prevent that issue as well though. It also has enough space inside of it for medical, tournaquets , spare parts, a full loadout of mags and ammo, some basic tools for repairs, a pocket on the back that is perfect for armor, and snacks and water. Oh, and the straps are removable, and help on at the bottom by carabineer clips, so I can convert it to a sling bag and still be just as grey man with it. It's probably the best bag I've ever seen for less than the cost of a Gamut 2.0, and it only cost me $40.
Please find the tag or label and post here what it is. I'm sure many will grab it

First off, solid work last year, second off, rah, and third, your videos are some of the highest quality that I’ve ever seen. That fucken Recce video!? Damn bro, good work. Keep it up my g.
Im a big advocate for discreet carry bags over tactical cases and gun cases for transporting firearms in a vehicle. Another recommendation is also always carrying a loaded open carry or ccw (state laws differ) while transporting firearms. Its a good precautionary exercise because I found that depending on the enviroment you live in, some people will immediately pay attention to what you bring in and out of your home with the intention of victimizing you. In my case I was living in a stacks style apartment next to section 8 housing.
I just finished my bag\truck gun setup. It's a .300 Black Out with 7.5" barrel, 110 custom loaded A-Max or Leighi rounds. Vertx Commuter 2.0. It's good to 200+ Yards. I also carry a 10.5" 5.56 incase I need to change to that caliber. In the bag I have an IFAK with limited stuff, like gloves, hearing protection, and basic stuff like knife, light and that's it. I did not want it to weigh much.
Great vid. This is stuff I have been going over for my vehicle, and something I am looking at is utilizing the rear bench. It flips up with a pull-tab on either side, and has room to to put a rifle (or two), ammo and extra gear under the bench.
That hesitant "Fairly-priced" captures exactly how I feel about ammo these days...
Yeah... $800 for 900 rounds of 62 grain 5.56? $500 for 1000 rounds of Tula 9mm?
Ugh.
@@Kycirion Damn, its THAT expensive for you in the US already ?
I always thought that was a bit exaggerated whenever i heard someone complain about prices, but THAT.
Oof.
@@Intrepid17011 Trust me, it's pretty bad here right now.
@@crw4372 I just compared and it isnt THAT much better here in germany actually, i mean, 900 rounds will still cost around 450 € which is still 530 $, but better than 800 i guess :D

If anyone is looking for a cheap bag, that is still legit, check out the Kelty Redwing series. Kelty has a hiking and a tactical line of backpacks.
Personally I rock the Redwing 30.
Great video. Keep up the good work.
I picked up a couple Kelty Redwing 44 Hiking packs for use as “vehicle get home bags”, and I agree they’re a great value. $62 on sale at Dick’s.
The 44L is a great size for my wife and I, 5’8”-5’9”, carrying 20 and 25 lbs respectively. 15% of our body weight equals max load of 20-25lbs.
It wouldn’t make for a good EDC bag but I can’t speak on their tactical line.
I had an ogio backpack I stashed my usp in. I still have the bag. Super sturdy and it doesn't stand out like hiking and range bags.
My last project was a "Goldilocks" do as close to everything as possible rifle and I ended up with the SOLGW 13.7 as well with their NOX and a Dead Air Sandman K along with a 1-8 and I cannot stop finding reasons to love that setup! Great content, keep grinding. Bravo Zulu from another degenerate former DD!
Larue Tactical Convert MK II Bags is what I love the most .
I have 2 go too rigs . Technically only have 1 but the second will be done as soon as it gets back from ADCO. My Primary is 12.5" 556n Mini Recce Pistol With SBA3 , TR24R , SF Lighf and YHM Turbo K Can . I use Black Hills 69g Match King Hollow Point . PMAGS and Surefeed are my go too mags ..
Second Rig which will be complete next range visit will be 13.9" 6mm ARC with PLX 1-8× GRIFFIN MIL ACSS , Modlite OKW , and 30SDK with Pinned QD Brake. Barrel should be back by the end of the week . Then I can take it out to the range to confirm all my DOPE . It was originally 16". Super excited to have AR15 capable of extended Ranges . Realistically it's primary use will be 600 yards and in .
Husky tool bags are great too, also I use a Dewalt tool chest to throw all my range gear, tools for guns, oil and gloves, full plate carrier and targets with hearing protection...but it doesn't scream TACTICAL!
Good considerations.
One thing for sure, adjust your driver's side seat while in full kit minus a backpack and have your pack stashed right on the center console so you can just grab it and go. Have the straps facing to the left where you'll be sitting so you can easily slide your right arm into the forward facing strap. Find some way to secure the pack too so it won't fly around in a crash and be hard to get to or cause more damage but make sure you can grab it easily too without any extra movement. Just wedge it between the seats if that works. Practice driving and bailing in full kit with your rifle and you'll figure out on your own what you need to adjust. Make sure you're really comfortable too. If you feel like you need to take your kit off after an hour of driving you're not set up right. Wearing a chest rig is always gonna suck when driving for a long time and if it's got all kinds of unsecured crap on it something will inevitably get caught on something when bailing out. For that reason soft rifle rated armor is great if you can afford it then just store your mags in a drop leg pouch or something. Also magazines on your chest especially if you're carrying 2 per pouch (mostly unnecessary) can add way too much space up front especially if you also have your rifle between you and the steering wheel at any point.
Seatbelts, which are always a good idea and shouldn't be neglected, also will get caught on a rifle or chest rig. Always have a seatbelt cutter and glass breaker secured to your steering column. A fire extinguisher within hands reach secured by magnets or breakaway straps too.
Obviously don't drive with your rifle sling on that's a recipe for disaster, what you want is to be able to stick it to your right or left on the door with a magnet. Cinch the sling down and secure it with cheap rubber bands so it won't catch on anything. I say cheap rubber so you can just rip the sling open and shoulder it and snap the bands easy, don't use ranger bands.
Also really best to rely on a handgun for driving (or a CZ Scorpion 🦂 if you're cool 😎)
I’m rocking the same acss holosun with primary arms magnifier it’s awesome! Now just looking to switch to a 11.5 barrel and try getting into suppressors
I got a 300SPS from surefire. Took it 8 months to finish. Do your homework when buying one, you cant just sell it like a firearm if you dont like it. If you have multiple calibers, try to get a one you can put on all of them. I got a .30cal one and can put it on my 300blk, my 6.5creedmoor, and both my 5.56 ARs.

My 10.5 fits perfectly in a Wilson tennis racket bag 👍🏻
This is some good ass videos man!! I’m glad you’re blowing up!!!! Well deserved
The ar-15 is a versatile platform. You throw a drum magazine and a full auto thingy and it becomes a machine gun. You throw on a scope and normal mag on it and it becomes a sniper rifle. Remove the upgrades, shorten the barrel, put a collapsible stock, a grenade launcher and a normal optic and it becomes a main battle rifle. Shiii that's pretty cool
I like you added the section on choosing a caliber other than 5.56. For example, 7.62x39 doesn't lose as much velocity on shorter barrels(i.e. 10") and the AK is piston driven so a folding stock is easier and cheaper to add to the weapon system.
Love the quality of the content brother, keep it up!
I know you said you don’t have any PCC’s so no scorpions, but I carry my Scorpion EVO S2 Micro in my small backpack and no one ever thinks twice. Such an awesome vehicle option besides my P320 compact on my hip, best part about it is that they both take the same caliber so I’m not carrying around multiple calibers.
Dude brings you great content with great production and editing and some of yall whining like a cinema club at the community college. Don't want quality info I'm sure Nutnfancy has a three hour video about sporks you can watch. Keep up the hard work man, I love your videos.

“A three hour video about sporks” BWAHAHAHAhaha!!
Love the content. If that occasional grunt is due to a beta blocker or a few ACE inhibitors, get it changed. Your doc shouldn't mind. My vehicle: 10" .300 blk with other than law folder (dont remember the brand) with a cheaper but working LVPO. Sits in a school pack I got from goodwill so it was nice and worn in. Couple bottles of water, some sea rations, packable parka, hoodie, couple extra mags, lifestraw and fire start kit. My get home bag.
Running a 10.5 with a 1-6, visible green laser and a stream light. Generally only take it out when I’m traveling across or out of state, never leaves my side when I do. Pair that with my EDC kinda bugout bag with a plate and some gear. The struggle is having to break it down and then reassemble as said in the video. I guess the benefit is that I carry concealed as well so if there is a threat I can shoot moving to cover, pull it out then switch to the AR
yooo the quality of this video is insane

Something that most people don't know:
If you get into an accident and need towed, the police will inventory your vehicle and not allow firearms in it while being towed. They will take your guns and place them into 'storage' for you to retrieve later.
That SOLGW 13.7 is where it’s at man!
I don't have a SOLGW AR, but I assembled an AR with a Ballistic Advantage 13.7" barrel and it's a great balance of compact and modularity, along with good ballistics.
@@toddk1377 it definitely has become my do it all rifle.
Option 1: cheap $20 tool box, splattered with paint and scuffed here and there. It carries a disassembled 11.5" 5.56 with PA CQB red-dot. Option 2: Pelican case locked to the vehicle and locked shut. Mainly for travel and includes my MR920. Op 3: Same 11.5 in the under storage compartment. This is where the jack and lowering winch for the spare are. This would be for around town when my MR920 is already on me. My armor rig sits in a black backpack, nothing high speed just a drago 72hr bag. Being in a Military town helps. No one thinks twice about a molle backpack or multicam bag around town.
Excellent video, I just like to piggyback on what you said. Please make sure you REMOVE your gear at night and NEVER leave your vehicle in a area that's out of your view for long periods of time. District officers hate taking paper on a stolen guns from vehicles. The insurance companies make you file on your homeowner or rental insurance.
I think the important thing when storing a weapon in your vehicle is just be smart. Your car is not a holster or a safe. Don't leave anything in plain sight, make sure that if someone was gonna smash your window in, they can't just grab your gun and run. Like he said in the video, some days, depending on where you're going and what you're doing, it might just be better to leave it at home if you know you will have to leave your car unattended for a period of time. Plan ahead, use your brain, don't arm criminals by being stupid or lazy.
I use an old hiking pack that fits my 7.5" .300AAC with a sylvan folding adapter nicely without the can, pretty snug with the can. Usually has a room for a small trauma kit, a few spare mags and other items to make shitty times into less shitty times I live in Alaska so hiking packs just laying around in vehicles is pretty common. Great video.
I like the theater layout on your videos

Awesome video! I would love to see more demonstrations of vehicle maneuvers with your set up. If possible with a 16 inch and your 13.7. Speaking for myself, it would give a better insight on what might be best.
Awesome info. Definitely helpful for folks travelling with their firearms. Kinda what you go through, but out of sight and discreet is best.

I drive a 1st gen sequoia so I do have ample room to keep things, I have a felton 10.5" at pistol with brace broken down in a old electronic measuring instrument bag that I snagged from work with 4 mags in the foot well of the rear seat and then a c308 (hk91/g3 clone) with 10 mags in a pelican vault v770 case in the cargo area covered with various stuff like a pry bar, fire extinguisher (still in box, need to mount), and a blanket to make it not out of place as there is recovery equipment and other things in the back lol
But of course my setup is ever evolving and I am still doing setups in that rig as I just bought it a couple months ago, I might make a mount for the pistol to sit flush against the rear seat in the foot well and mount prolly a atv scabbard in the cargo area when I get molle hard panels like that grayman tactical panel in the vid. Drew up one to replace a cubby cover and then panels to mount over the rear quarter windows to hold things like a first aid kit, recovery equipment, and other odds n ends. So this will be evolving over time
id suggest darker tint and a gun rack. Better and more concealable.
Decreased velocity obviously also decreases the effects of terminal ballistics as well as the increase bullet drop. A bdc reticle compensates for the bullet drop but not terminal ballistics. Anything beyond 300 meters won’t take full advantage of the 223/556, but anything beyond 300 meters in a life or liberty situation you should just break contact.
As always killer vid and my two cents. Semper bro!
Tennis racket bags work great & are the ultimate grey man bag.
I don't even play tennis, but tell me if you think a guy with a racket bag over his shoulder poses a threat...
I recently picked up a Savior Specialist 30" SBR bag for my 11.5" 5.56 pistol. It's low-key and very comfortable as a back pack. I do recommend it. Keep up the great content.
When I was traveling around different states, I had my rifle next to the door covered by a blanket. When I had to leave the vehicle, I would chain it up under a seat (again covered by a blanket).

seconded. The most important/useful/dangerous/powerful weapon in the entire world is the one that is in your hands. SO FRIGGIN FIGURE OUT HOW IT IS GETTING IN YOUR HANDS
A lot of great considerations there. I tested a number of bags and firearms in my vehicle before choosing a dedicated setup. It still changes on occasion since I live in a city but have a rural property as well. If I know I’m gonna be rural occasionally I’ll have something bigger along as well but I always have my 11.5” Mk.18 esque clone with a Law Tactical folder. It runs well suppressed and unsuppressed. One thing I’m sure you’ll get a lot of hate on is “not having your guns properly secured in your car” this is the dumbest argument ever for a lot of people. Of course everything is always situation dependent but I’ve had a lot of really nice cars over the years and I’ve been carrying firearms on and off body in my vehicles daily for the past 15 years and never once has my vehicle been broken into and the same can be said for a LOT of people I know. I’m not in a high crime area most of the time so that helps but what helps even more is concealment as you said. Not having gun slogans and stickers pasted all over your vehicle and not having them laying out in the open or in an obvious gun case is another plus. I have mine in an inconspicuous bag that I can rapidly access from the front or back seat and when I leave the vehicle I usually lay a sweatshirt over it. If I have any other gear along I usually have enough low value clutter to cover it up with. If I have a lot of stuff, like when me and my buddies are on trips with many thousands of dollars of gear with. I have a tarp and some random low value tool belts and stuff that are usually in my vehicle anyways and we cover everything up with that. Keep up the great work, I’m loving your content.
Good stuff. I've been rocking that VertX Commuter sling you showed with a Glock 19 and some goodies. Don't have anything under 14.5, otherwise I'd find a way to snuggle a carbine in there too.
Really like your videos. I just wondered if you could make a "winter/snow" gear setup with jackets you'd wear and bags. With what's happening in Texas right now it might help people in the future.
🤣🤣🤣 Jkjk great video bro. I'm so glad you started these videos. Great advice. I usually put my Walther 9 in a Maxpedition pistol case and if I'm going to the jungle I'll throw my 16" AR in the mix. I use an Assault Systems bag because they are made in MO. My home state.
Been watching various firearms/gear channels for a good amount of years at this point, and I absolutely love this one. The discussions are prudent, frank, and well-produced. Plus, there is plenty of niche info in each one that many other channels just simply don't mention, like zipper placement. Keep up the good work.
Run a 8.5 300blk with a foldable stock as a get home/truck gun. I live a pretty urban environment that won’t require shots further than 150yds… get home to my work horse 10.5” 5.56 and 16” 5.56 with lpvo with offset red dot.
I carry a Glock 26 (9mm)in my glove box , 1911 A2 (10mm)on my person and a mini draco (7.62x39) in my backseat in my personal bag loved the video
ukulele gig bag works great for my 10.5 AR or 16 AK w/ folding stock
Yep, running the tactical Prius
Moving blankets are really good for hiding things
Representing Bolt Gunner! I worked with him great guy
Rocking just a bike, I don't carry a rifle/long gun all that often unless I'm going to work. In which case I usually just sling it up or break it down and put it in my 5.11 RUSH12 bag. But I'll be messing more with bags and options when I get an actual vehicle here shortly. Great video, got my sub and looking forward to checking out your other content.
Solid content from a solid guy
Wish vertx do another run of m81.
Love the videos brother! Wont say what I use but use a carbine that matches with my side arm. Same caiber and mags. But I was wondering if you can do a EMP big out vehicle and how to? Thanks in advance.
I'mma be a bro here and shout out some other places to get ammo...
Atlantic Tactical, who are a verified Safariland dealer. You will need to display credentials for most of the ammo, but it's in stock and it won't cost an arm and a leg and your firstborn son. I usually buy from them when I need 357 Sig ammo, but they're becoming more popular an option since their restricted ammo is usually in stock. Long as you got something, doesn't necessarily have to be military or police. They recognize security, instructors, corrections, the works.
Recoil Gunworks, who I have bought from since 2018. They are a local gun shop in Indiana run by a bunch of former LEOs who got their FFLs. They got the best deals on police trade-in Glocks and they get a ton of surplus PD ammo. They also sell to anyone, regardless of credentials, so big ups for that.
Lastly, Wilson Combat loads ammo but hardly anybody knows about it due to their guns. While they might not have the best deals price-wise, and the shipping is costly, they are top quality ammo with super fast shipping. I love running their ammo in stuff like .45 ACP, .38 Super, 10mm, and their XTP load is my go-to .380 ammo as well.
Ain't tryna detract from Rughi's video, but during this quarantine I figure I'd share this info since a lot of people be struggling nowadays.
well done.
I still think my setup of a Vertx bag (can't remember model RN) with my UMP clone works really well. It's a bit fucky since I'm a lefty and the sling bag is optimized for righties, but I can still go from chill to thrill in about five seconds with it on!
Give me my ar pistol, light tactical vest, 4 magazines, edc pistol and 3 pistol mags I’m good that’s enough for me to get home in any shtf and all can fit comfortably in my deck system in my f150 out of sight. The criminals nowadays will steal any bag long or short. That box you have is key no criminal likes to work if so they would have a job to begin with lol. Great vid!
I got the vertx gamut (maybe the 2.0 can’t remember) from BDU for waaayyy cheaper than anywhere else. I can fit a 7.5” pistol with a sylvan arms folder and a 6” can in the bag. It’s pretty tight that way but it does fit. I also can out an 11.5” with folder in there as well.
I use a good old gym bag, no one ever look twice or think twice.
I run a 8.5" 1:7 300blk ar pistol with a Deadfoot Arms SCW4, giving exactly a 21.5" OAL, in a Vertx Gamut Checkpoint, with about an inch to spare, no stretching on the zip or material, it can fire with tail hook fully collapsed, just slide it out, take it off safe, and fire. No unfolding necessary, still no time to draw it out? I can reach my hand in and fire while it's still in the bag, shooting through the bottom of the bag.
I'm not correcting you, but I believe you'll still gain velocity with a 556 out to 22 in. The minimum I would recommend for a 556 barrel in most situations is about a 10.3 or more.
I believe the sweet spot on 300 blackout is 9 inches.
Great content as always 👊
