Good route for your run out. About 3 years ago I walked along the Wyming Brook Drive from the Redmires Reservoirs (I had parked at Ringinglow) and did a cheeky wildcamp near the western tip of the upper Rivelin Dam. The following morning I took the main road to pick up the path to go up over Stanage Edge. As I walked (hated the road walk section) I could see up to the left the Head Stone up on the top. Not been back there since - but should do! Lovely area. Thanks for your video again, Take care, W :)
That's a very cheeky place to wildcamp indeed! I've been along the Rivelin a couple of times and have done a bit of volunteering in Wyming brook once before, but definitely haven't explored the area that much. Will be changing that for sure!
Looked a tough but enjoyable trail Jess. My biggest failing with long distance running was not taking gels on board etc. You can definitely feel when your body is depleted of it’s energy reserves
Absolutely, I tend to stick to a rule that if I'm out for more than an hour then I need to take some calories onboard every 40 minutes, then every 30 minutes if I'm out for more than 2 hours. Seems to work well!
Nice... Was just walking around there today, and thinking of doing a 10k loop. Scouted out this when I got in - Check out this map I created on AllTrails. www.alltrails.com/explore/map/foxholes-fccc649?p=-1 mostly on quick tracks with a bit of road and some muddy bits especially round the reservoir at the top... Not quite ready to run it yet - I'm building back up just on 5k at the moment. Anyway, thanks for posting!
That looked really challenging with all the mud, but really nice surroundings to be out in. Jealous watching that! 😁 All the best👍
It is a very nice route when you ignore all the mud 😂
