Batman: Gotham Knights for that Playstation 5 is a game that got nearly universally panned when it released 4 months ago. And because I'm silly, I decided that OF COURSE, I would go and 100 percent the dang thing. Here's Gotham Knights and the DLC 100% so you don't have to. Also the comic. There's a comic book.

FINALLY GOTHAM KNIGHTS HAS ARRIVED. There was a small scheduling mishap so this was originally supposed to be the first video of the year, but it is what it is. When I originally tossed this into the ring as a potential poll option, I wasn't expecting it to win, let alone take 40 percent of the vote. But well, I'm glad y'all picked it. Is Gotham Knights a trash fire like everyone says or is there something a little more? Also there's a comic. That's cool.
Let me know other deep dives and "100 percent" videos y'all want me to check out. There's a big one, Avengers that's gonna be getting it's final patch soon so... that seems like a good idea?? Bad Idea?? IDK
Can you do Avengers lol, I stopped playing after the boring endgame
Do Marvel's Avengers next also Guardians of the Galaxy
Review Marvel's midnight suns game
Video starts at 2:42
Mech Arena was a dance craze back in the late 90s.
It had a catchy song to go with it.
As mid as the game turnt out, I still think the idea of utilizing the Bat family is really cool, and I don't want that to go to waste because Gotham Knights fumbled the baton pass.
Oh bleep. Persona's format doesn't fit everything (couldn't really imagine SpongeBob or Spider-Man quite working in that format), but imagine the Bat Kids, post Death of Batman, working as an eight person Persona style turn based RPG unit out of the gate? That could have been HYPE.
Dick
Tim
Jason
Barbara
Cass
Steph
Damien
And, sure, why not have Harper Row, for balance?
I'm hoping and coping for a Ninja Turtles style Gotham Knights game, but it being good since TMNT is kinda of struggling as a franchise right now with the exception of the comics.
I think a part of the reason it got so much hate is because the last batman game looks and plays better than this
i always thought that what if instead of the bat family we get the titans game in the same format, it will be great imo
You tripping
Best part of Red Hood is how all of his ability descriptions try to emphasize how non-lethal his stuff is despite the gameplay being the total opposite. You get gems like "Red Hood plants a concussion grenade on grappled enemies, which then explodes into smaller cluster concussion grenades."
Does Red Hood prefered killing is opponents?
@@garibaldibritann1240 Storywise no, Red Hood is reformed and doesn't kill anymore.
Gameplay wise, Red Hood turns Gotham Knights into a 3rd person shooter where you try to headshot enemies as much as possible for massive crit damage bonuses.
@@jakesteel4916With non-lethal bullets.
@@prezmil4282 non lethal PIERCING bullets
I would have loved it if all of his weapons/abilities just had non-lethal in front of everything as a joke.
I'm surprised this game didn't leave off with a Damian reveal. Batman's family has to raise his secret son. Probably would have got people interested in a sequel.
If only they had more people on the team who actually had passion for what they were making and they didn't get railroaded into making this quasi live-service schlock. This is a great idea and would have been really fun to see
I will say I like how caked up Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon is. Wish I had more nice things to say about this game.
Hahahahahaha just started playing yesterday for the first time. Picked Batgirl as my first and got her to lvl 10 before I realized you could change characters AND level them up with gear from the other characters that you found. Batgirl does have all the cake haha. Haven't tried red hood or Nightwing yet. Robin does seem fun though. Enjoying his element use and not really liking his first bow staff special. Other then that it's a pretty fun game.
@@MiBrCo4177 I’m sorry but the gameplay is extremely generic
@@jamaaldagreatest2748 oh most definitely without question haha. However its fun for what it is. it's more then likely the fact that I've not played an open world game in quite some time.
@@MiBrCo4177 what a coincidence
I picked up the game 2 hours ago and ALSO picked batgirl
@@Lung-Stealer lol yeah I figured she would be a different play style... I was kinda wrong.
It definitely feels like it was supposed to be a live service game, but was changed at the last minute. Perhaps they changed that in response the reception of Marvel's Avengers.
It was, and they absolutely did. Such a fucking shame.
@@IzraelGraves is it? It's now mediocre instead of trash because of it
@@thatitalianlameguy2235 i think he means it's a shame they we're initially going down that path
at the very least hopefully they take this as a fail on last minute switches and not because it was the bat family instead of Batman
@@alonsomorales3249 You and I already know that they won't do that. The easiest excuse with the least accountability is the usually the one taken.
If they're dumb enough they might take it in reverse, aka "we should've stuck to our guns and stayed focus on live service."
My soul cried a little every time Arkham Knight was said in plural form so it cried an awful lot
Thats me whenever someone pluralizes "Attack on Titan"
@@SolidSnake240 that’s reasonable. There’s multiple attacks and titans.
Yeah same. And he called it the "Rocksteady trilogy" and called Arkham Origins a "spin-off".
He probably never played them and barely knows about the Arkham games.
@@TheFirstCurse1He didn't call it a spin-off. He said it was considered a spin-off. It not being included in the Arkham collection doesn't help.
@@captainmega6310 Same thing. And it's not a spin-off. It's part of the Arkham Quadrilogy.
The one cool thing about this game is the patrolling on different nights. The Arkham games were basically the four worst nights of batman's life, but going on regular patrols with long running crimes to solve is a great concept for a superhero game
Yeah that’s what keeps me returning to this game quite frequently. The city really just feels like a cool place to hang out and patrol around. The lighting and, color palette and the mood of the city is so engrossing.
Really cool idea, but the game itself is not good enough to support it.
@@flyingplantwhale545eh
Add that "one cool thing" to a bunch of its other cool things, like the dialogue/characterisation of the characters and the game was definitely a great if flawed bat family experience
@@biconditionals The dialogue and character writing was terrible what are you on about?
I’m glad people like Austin exist, to actually play games that people shit on and forget about and actually give them a chance
Well its not like this game didnt deserve the bashing it got.
I mean, so did the reviewers. No one in the mainstream reviewed this game without "actually playing it"
@@bikechan9903 you mean "actually play it" for 15 seconds and vomit out the same thing the internet is saying
@@yummynubs3646 both gamespot and IGN's reviewers spent 30 hours on the game before writing their reviews.
Is this one of those games like Days Gone where it gets "good" after 60 hours?
It really helps.
Batgirl's a tank because she hides all the damage in her bullet proof dump truck
I keep forgetting that this game even released, considering how little people were talking about it compared to the previews.
Nightwing leads
Batgirl does machines
Red Hood is cool but rude
Robin is a party dude
Yeah, this is basically a TMNT game

I'm just having fun and bein tired.
He must not have "muh kids"
Honestly just playing Jason and shooting my way through Gotham was a good time
Is it weird this video literally made me go buy it on Steam? Like...it's a video about how mid this game is and all I can think is "Shooting things as Jason looks fun".
@@Goldenkitten1 valid honestly. It's a fun time if you have the right expectations for it
@@LadySatya I think as an RPG nerd all the numbers don't put me off like I think it did a lot of the more standard action fans expecting another Arkham City.
This game sucks
That's pretty much the reason I'm gonna buy it, I've wanted a free roam Red Hood game for the longest time. Also wish we got a standalone Arkham Tim Drake game. I usually don't care for Robin ever but he really shines in the Arkham games
Think it’s gonna be awhile before we ever get a Batman game as good as the Arkham games if this is any indicator.
Well. That also depends on your opinion on detective games and grind-fests.
I personally prefer them to the Arkham style, even if this is not up to par I absolutely have enjoyed it more because that's my preference
@@humanistwriting5477 agreed, couldn’t finish Arkham knights because of the god awful bat tank missions, my friend and I had a great time running through this game together. If you weren’t expecting an Arkham clone it’s a fine game
It's funny you say that because I'm currently playing this right now and I'm enjoying it. The story is interesting enough to keep me entertained although I don't care much for the power level aspect of it because I feel like it wasn't needed. So it is making to go back and play through finally all three Arkham games and their entirety. I feel like right now I'm more enjoying that it's an open world beat him up game and I've not played one of them in quite a long time.
My best friend and I were so hyped for this game. We were pumped for a Arkham styled CO-OP experience and we had played really bad games before, so we felt we were adequately prepared. We preordered it on PC, but neither of us could have foreseen just how bad the performance issues were. I would get ~20FPS outside in the open world, and at some points it even dipped into the single digits. Once, it even dropped below 1FPS because one random enemy was slowing down the game BIG TIME during a fight. But inside buildings and underground, I would get a perfect 60FPS. The whole open world was woefully unoptimized to the point where I couldn't ride the bat-cycle without outpacing the world loading around me. I have a decent rig that is able to run Arkham Knight on ultra at a stable 60FPS, but it barely met the minimum requirements for Gotham Knights.
We were disappointed by the massive technical issues that held back the game. The game on its own is average with potential, probably getting a passing grade of a C, but the technical issues really kept drove our score further and further down. When they introduced that patch in early November, the game got very unstable. We learned that if either of us crashed, we BOTH had to close and relaunch the game, otherwise the game would still think we were in a lobby together. When we beat the game, it crashed on the credits for both of us. We uninstalled it almost immediately. We didn't even wait for the 4 player CO-OP mode to come out, so I'm glad you covered that in the video.
But you know that WB didn't have any faith in the game when it didn't get a season pass; hell, leaked screenshots from the Suicide Squad game shows that it already has a season pass. The way I see it is that WB had two options when it came to Gotham Knights: either give the devs more time to polish the game or to push the game out and move the majority of the team elsewhere. We already know what option they picked, so let's hope Suicide Squad is good enough to justify them sacrificing Gotham Knights for it.
Yeah, don’t put your hope too high for Suicide Squad: no actual gameplay in three years and at three months at the release, a leak that actually put together an awful plot and a battle pass, and this game has more red flags than hype.
If you really have to rely on the sole name of the studio and his previous success then something is pretty fishy.
Good thing you preordered so they know to do it again for the next game
Many theorized it was to be a live service but with how bad that avengers live service game went, they quickly tried to turn it back into a single-player game hence all the resources and crafting, gear score things.
Personally I've taken to sit back and watch triple A's shoot themselves in the foot over experiencing games just being alpha tested by the public, like many have started doing.
That is the issue at hand, they don't have more time. Atleast, not in the companies eyes the vast majority of the time. They say "I want Gotham Knights done in 3? years" and when that three years is up they can probably squeeze a delay or two but much more than that and they're bleeding money that could be spent on the salaries of workers on a better game.
Which even hurts it more so with reviews, you release a 60ish hour game and the reviewer who NEEDS the clicks and views right away only can spend a bit of time playing it before they uninstall it and move on to the next game on their to do list that is likely coming out when the deadline for them to be relevant or in the case of big review sites, actual deadline for the review.
There is also a massive echo chamber and more people like negative reviews than positive ones, because its more cathartic to see a thrashing.
@@TheMaskedWarrior92 They have a state of play for it today so here's hoping at 4PM EST.
Now I just want a Batman Beyond video game. It'd be so cool to have cyberpunk, batman, detective, super tech shenanigans.
They'd totally ruin Terry by trying overly hard to connect it awkwardly to the more popular continuities, but it could potentially be cool enough as to be worth it lol
I know it's completely irrelevant and I'm being super pedantic pointing it out, but every time you said Arkham *Knights* hurt me just a little bit ;)
I love these "I beat _ 100% so you don't have to" videos btw. Whenever you do one on a game I'm somewhat unsure about getting, it always helps me come to a decision.
Yeah I know I messed up. I sure said the word "Knights" like 100 times though.
I still plan on getting this one and you kinda solidified what I felt the game would be. A decent game which is fun to a certain kind of person. Especially if you don't go into it trying to force it into an Arkham mold. A decent 7. I agree. 7's have a place in our libraries. Don't always need a A5 wagyu. Sometimes you can enjoy a 15 piece from McDonald's
Honestly you’re spot on. It’s a solid 6 or 7 that reallllly got hurt by the inevitable comparisons to the Arkham series. Nothing I plan on redownloading but can’t hate
Man Gotham Knights' looks like something I'd really enjoy. You've sold me on at least giving this game a shot at some point if I ever get a nice PC or a PS5
"This game is at least a 7, but I would probably never play it again" is certainly an interesting take
To be super fair to myself, I *very rarely* replay video games. They gotta be like, my absolute favorites.
@@austineruption That's fair, and It was admittedly really rude of me to phrase it like that, so sorry for my rudeness.
I have mixed feelings about gotham knights character designs but man the harley quinn boss outfit is great honestly one of my favorites of her looks
That's for being honest about how you feel about the game. So many youtubers act like games have to define the art of gaming, or the games are trash fire. It's okay for games to be okay.
Sometimes, mid is okay!
@@austineruption
Not at $70 it's not
I think the only thing really bugging me on this review so far is Austin calling Arkham Knight "Arkham Knights."
I approve of the shout-out showing the reason people modded Batgirl's cape though. I do like that.
To be fair I say the word "knights" like 4 million times in this video so I'm probably losin it.
As someone who likes games with good itemization it's so sad to see it executed such that the most positive thing I have heard is "you can ignore it."
I like the costumes aspect, but it just feels arbitrary most of the time.
Arkham Knight is singular. Drove me crazy everytime he said Knights
17:06 LMAO i actually SCREEAAMED laughing with that bat girl zoom in + echoing "jason??" 😂😂😂
Coming from the future to say that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League makes this game look like a an actual game.
I reviewed negatively this game when it came out because I couldn't play it for technical reasons. Now that it has improved, I've beaten the game and planning to do new game+. It's been a blast, honestly, as soon as you don't see it as an Arkham.
I love Gotham knights. Especially the Batgirl stealth takedowns from above🤨
Ayoo? 😮
The characters having a shared level seems very convenient and seems like it cuts down any grinding a ton considering you don't have to level up four different characters
I'm not joking when I say it is so refreshing to have a review treat games fairly. I know I commented something to this affect in a past video, but it's so rare. I really do like your videos man. Good work!
imagine if spiderman had to unlock his webswinging and wallcrawling in his game
Certainly one of the games released last year
Arkham Knight, singular! I couldn’t figure out if the pronunciation was comment bait but it finally got to me
Don't lie. Nobody was looking forward to this. We knew it was going to be trash the second they showed the modern AAA flop purple/pink cover. Dragon Age Dreadwolf is next
Tim Drake is not the newest Robin. That’s Damien Wayne. And Jason Todd isn’t a zombie.
I get the feeling this was going to be a live service game, but the higher-ups put the kibosh on that when Avengers and some of the other live services started losing money
Got a cheap key for it and ended up having quite fun with it to be honest. Wouldn't play through it again or use NG+, but for one Playthrough it was totally fine.
I agree with Austin saying that there should be a sequel if they do it right...the game definitely had potential.
yea i think if they work on the technical side, give you what you got at the end of the game at the start of the next one such as traversal, scrap the rpg aspects (power level stresses me out if its not maxed gear lmfao) and tweak the combat a bit(please just ADD PARRIES), it has some serious potential
Dude, that final charming scene that you were talking about was shown as a trailer at one point I think. I remember that was one of the first things I ever saw of Gotham knights and I thought the whole game was going to be like that, which I was not excited about. Having it be bookended as the last thing is way way better than being the first thing you saw lol
“it’s boring but it’s good!”
Punching bags of the week and bandwagoning have become a massive problem. The unchecked negativity completely disgusts me and has caused me to stop looking at literally anything about any game until I'm done with it.
That’s what I do now
If it keeps me entertained a few hours every morning after work and all night long on my nights off
It’s a winner
I mainly played as Nightwing and Red Hood; and because of that, I had a blast. Finally being able to roam as Nightwing in Gotham was huge for me
8:24 is it just me or does Bruce look like Metro Man?
i really hope wb decides that suicide squad shouldnt be a marvels avengers style live service title, but recent rumors suggest that they wont
This game is a five and you would still be charitable
Why not try to see the positives in stuff, even if it's mediocre?
@@austineruption These kids have no experience with Daikatana or Drake and the 99 dragons. Gonna go install a bunch of cringe mods.
Heard that red hood had non legal guns and immediately never gave it a second thought
Low key one of the best Harley Quinn designs in any medium.
Yeah game burn out has happened to me too. I started Transformers:Devastation in idk, 2018 or 2019?? Dropped it after maybe 2 hours. But then finally came back and played it a lot over Winter 2023 and fell in love with it.
I see Austin's also being recommended all the based PC-98 music on UA-cam 🤣 Quality work as always.
Based is REAL
The party's not over until I'm defeated!
*Spin kick*
KO!
At least it's realistic. One spin kick to the face usually does end a fight.
I enjoyed the game, while I can admit it’s not revolutionary it was fun. I enjoyed playing as Batgirl and Robin, and it felt kind of nice playing in an open world like Gotham.
I absolutely LOVE The Runaway!!! He's such a perfect concept for a new DC Western Hero! He fits perfectly into the classic guys like Vigilante and Jonah Hex! It's a perfect fusion of that era with modern sensibilities for a cool superhero concept!
Vigilawnties! lol
You do great work Austin! Appreciate you taking one for us viewers for some of these games. Your "so you don't have to" series is one of my favs on UA-cam.
Its fumny the titles are called playing (blank) so you dont have to. But it actually makes me want to play these when i watch the videos
Holy shit I haven't gotten a notification on your account in a hot minute. Great video and really happy you reviewed this. I played it with a friend as our first game we played together in years and despite the issues it was a really fun and great time that ended in a nightmare fight where my friend who isn't as much of a gamer ended up saving the final hard mode fight flailing around like a madman and chipping her down. It's a great game and glad to played it. The sole thing I really wish is if it just had more. More polish, more content, more story. I know Suicide Squad is being done by another team, but I cant help but thank Gotham Knights for being that gateway game to get into gaming more with a friend I haven't had much time to really do anything with. It's special to me and sucks to see so many people dumpster it as hard as it is. It's what gets exhausting about the gaming community and the internet as a whole where it just becomes a never ending navigation of trying to avoid kicking a seemingly never ending amount of hornets nests over any and everything.
Happy belated birthday and the last time I think I saw a vid you had blue hair haha. Another cool thing Gotham Knights had unexpectedly brought to me is your channel and I'm sure a decent backlog.
If they removed the leveling this game could have been much more fun. The best about spiderman and arkham is that you feel powerful by the end but getting taken down by lvl 50 thugs is really humbling and quite the drag
I liked Gotham Knights a lot. It was fairly fun. Batgirl was my go to and she just felt super engaging, the story was fun, overall I enjoyed it.
Honestly, the mentality that a 7 out of 10 game is a bad game needs to die.
I wish that Tim was Red Robin and Damian Wayne was the established Robin. This would give us a new dynamic in the Gotham Knights.
Tim Drake may have the Adam Sandler look, but I still prefer it whatever they did to Jason Todd. Dude looks like every football player I knew back in High School. Dude looks like regularly listens to Alex Jones and Joe Rogan. Dude looks like he sells drugs despite having a trust fund. Dude looks like the human version of Knuckles in Sonic Boom.
Please do Fospoken next. That's definitely a game you should play so we don't have to 😂
I'm decidedly not a comic or superhero fan, and I can't really get into open world sandbox type games, but something about watching this game and knowing you can do the whole thing co-op has me more than mildly interested. I really want to grab a friend, rent or buy this for cheap, and just go at it for a weekend. It's too bad the overlap of people I know who are knowledgeable enough about Batman to explain things to me and people who care for these kinds of games is practically nonexistent.
I expect it to show up in a humble bundle eventually
It would be perfect for that, expecially if you could find a batman nerd to explain stuff, like you said.
Say what yall want, but gotham knights is INFINITELY better than Self-deletion squad:delete the justice league
One cutscene in the game has both players. When you're escaping from the mines and they're blowing up and youre being chased by the owl dudes. Your character opens up the door at the end and looks back before going through it. If you're with a friend, when your character looks back, your buddy runs through the door before you follow after him. Only cutscene in the entire game at least that I know of.
Now I really want you to play Marvel's Avengers. It would be very interesting to get your take on that game. Especially after seeing what you said about this one. I know the game is ending but it will still be playable so it would be interesting to see what you say.
Is it The best Batman game? No. But it definitely isn't as bad as people pretend it to be
Screw it, it's half priced on Steam right now and I was hyped to get this on release before all the negativity. You've convinced me to take the plunge.
I didn't mind this game at all, but I'm not surprised it turned up on so many disappointed games lists. I'll be honest there were multiple times I wanted to stop playing and go on to something else (Whenever I did I couldn't think of anything else to play so I kept playing.) As I kept at it past the opening hours however I couldn't put it down and ended up enjoying myself. The problems I have with Gotham Knights I just wish it wasn't so grindy and enemies weren't so bullet spongey even when you're level capped it was annoying.
On steam this game is currently on sale in honor of Batman's birthday 💀
Great video Austin!! I wanted to like the game but enduring the whole bunch of bugs at launch I was experiencing was too much, for the first time in my life I refunded a steam game...
By the way after playing Hi-Fi Rush I just want now a Harley Quinn game in that graphical style and embracing sillyness!!! it would be so cool!!!
BRRRRROOOO @austineruption Great Video... Im one of the small group of people who recognized that back track at 11:45 - Legend of Legaia is my life! love this music and song
Belated happy birthday Austin!
Thank you!
@@austineruption Happy belated thanks for the content
If you pay close attention during gameplay, you can randomly hear someone say something followed by “eh?” 😂
So I'm probably in the minority here, but the main reason I stayed away from the game was my concern that it would be geared towards a co-op experience. I don't have any interest in any kind of multiplayer in my games, and playing a single player campaign that is obviously meant to be multiplayer is frustrating as hell (looking at you, every borderlands after the first one). So I may have to check this one out. Cheers.
They did do one thing right, barbara the real "asset" on the team
What’s so sad is the now two different dungeons can be challenging and 4 player coop is fun….however good luck finding ANY online coop, let alone groups who want to grind some gear to upgrade other heroes who aren’t your main.
Calling Gotham Knight a 7/10 is pretty bold; I'd call it a 5/10 *at best.* Like, I know Origins is much maligned, but outside of the early technical issues I think it's pretty great - certainly better than Arkham Knight in some aspects. So you'd think that the studio that made Origins would be able to make another quasi-Arkham gam, but for whatever reason the entire damn thing is built around an open world stat-based lootfest with crafting mechanics and if anything that's a deathblow combo for any game. Add to that boring and weightless combat that lacks any sort of impact and you arrive at a game that should have been pivoted substantially and early on.
I’m at 16:10 and you’ve genuinely convinced me to go back and replay the game. If I remember I’ll update how it went
Thanks, because I wasn't going to play it.
🤣 you're not missing much at all
Man i was so disappointed with this game. I got bored a few hours in and uninstalled it. I got it on a digital psn sale and still feel like i spent too much money on this mid game.
Fascinating to see someone actually come away positive from this. Your point that we need 7/10 games is totally right. This also now has me curious if you're ever gonna do one of these for Forspoken which I can't help but compare to Gotham Knights.
I saw the backlash and was immediately interested, but that games got a season pass so I'll sit back and watch for now.
I would honestly pick the game up on a sale if it had a 60fps mode, also this game really missed out on having the ultimate rougelike mode where each night is basically you restarting but Gotham changes each time
I definitely think people who are more familiar with Bat family lore will get more out of this game than people thinking it's another Arkham game. Comic fans have been waiting forever for all these characters to come together. There is so much more story and substance to experiment with just Batman vs Gotham's rouges gallery. I'm sad for the mid reception for something I think was a step in the right direction. It would be amazing if they ever made a Batman movie that wasn't just another origin story.
The title feels like a challenge and I accept it
17:32 I don't really know much about batman stuff but it sounds like they took some traits from Punchline. She's the Joker's girlfriend and became an influencer
They really made Harley into Jim Watkins.
Quinn is far more likeable and trustworthy, though.
Couldn't disagree more. For me; the combat was unfun, and the "heartfelt" cutscenes came off as melodramatic. Not to mention interaction with the open world is pretty limited.
I was so hyped about this, I even pre-ordered it. That is on me. I didn't think this was game terrible but it certainly could've been more. When it works, the coop mode can make it much more bearable.
This could’ve been a good game,if they focused mainly on one character and I’d pick Nightwing to be the hero. Also to carry his mantle as Batman with the help of others.
It would've been much better if the Gotham Knights fought their personal foes instead of Batman's jobbers, Robin vs General Anarky,Batgirl vs James Gordon Jr,Nightwing vs his grandad Will Cobb would've preferable than Arkham boss Rehashes.
The court of owls was heavily featured in the snyder capulo run of Batman if I remember correctly. You saying it has not been featured outside og the films is not correct unless i misunderstood something
You find the most insane masochists on UA-cam
I'm with ya on Batman Beyond. It would be so cool to see it get a revival somehow
It’s weird to me that people are comparing this to Arkham Knight as though it’s the gold standard and not itself a mid game that had an awful launch, a boring as hell story, an ending you had to grind to unlock and a gameplay loop that was drowned in tedious tank missions.
Finished it, but had 1 major problem. I couldn't "feel" combat. In other games you hit something or someone hits you, you feel rumble in your controller, not this game. Only felt the slightest rumble from the grapple, and when big characters charge at me. Also could not get the last most wanted enemy to spawn. Anyone know if that's changed? Ps5 btw.
The rumble part actually did, as of literally 4 days ago! It was part of that newest patch. Should have been in the game day 1 but /shrug

I just want Arkham combat with Gotham knights characters, and maybe a blend of the environments? ;_; it seems like such an Obvious win, and I just kinda wish rocksteady was working on That instead of the suicide squad version of the "oh no the good guys are bad now!" cliche.
Dude with videos like this we may need to redefine the concept of "100%ing" things, as doing all of the game, then DLC, and even the comics is more like 210-250%ing this game (depending on how long the DLC was). But yeah huge kudos for going above and beyond with this, actually making me want to check it out plus the comics and such. Well done, man.
Cake of the year award goes to Gotham Knights.
I ended up liking the game enough to beat it but it’s a pretty uneven experience. Some stuff worked well and some stuff was forgettable. I really liked the linear section missions and each characters characterization felt appropriate aside from maybe Dick being a himbo too much at times. It’s an average game but not nearly as bad as people try to make it to be.
Game is still poorly optimized though.
Just got a patch yesterday with a big optimization update, big gains on PC!
This game was boring as hell which is worse than it just being "bad" imo
