I had the amazing pleasure of spending some time with him...he is truly brilliant and just as sensual as he appeared on stage...a memory I will treasure always
Yes one of the most magnificent entertainers..ever! He went too early! Saw both broadway shows! He was mesmerizing! He lived on the Florida Coast and so did I! Had I known I would have literally knocked on his door Magnificent!
When the familiar violin intro for Fiddler on the Roof comes on, at 42:31 Anthony utters 'Oy vaiz mere' - which this audience obviously didn't react to, but it had me rolling in laughter, omg, what an entertainer he is!
This was one of the greatest concerts i ever witnessed.what your watching was a genius at work.other than the greatest entertainer that ever lived sammy davis jr.,anthony newley had an abundance of talent.he not only sings the songs,he lives the song.an amazing talent.
"storyteller" is a performance that cannot ever be improved upon or duplicated. Think about it....he's 50 years old, moves better that a 16 year old ballerina, and sings AND wrote it. WHO ELSE???
James greig,im ecstatic that you enjoyed anthony newley in concert.ive seem him live numerous times and was mesmerized.this performer was a total genius.not only does he sing the song ,he lives each and every lyric.newley had an abundance of talent and was a great performer.be safe.
Vicente Fernandez (All-time Mexican Ranchero Mariachi singer) replicated a similar 15-20 song concert effort in 1982 during a Veronica Castro Show (without taking a Break). BTW, after singing 'I promised you a love song' exquisitely, his story actually refers to his relationship to 'Gurney Slade' Actress Anneke Willis, his 17 yr old love, although he uses the name 'Sarah' in his side story.
He was referencing his friend Sammy Davis Jnr who made the song famous and who changed the lyrics 'you can even eat the dishes' to 'jews can even eat knishes'. Newley sings SDjr's lyric then too.
@@dottiepollock3679 ,the remark I made was accurate.theres no way Anthony newley was intoxicated when performing.he was in excellent form, and was composed the whole time.ive seen him perform in concert numerous times.this man is a complete genius and a special talent.
That's the reason for all the gyrations and theatric nonsense. Since he can't sing he gyrates all over and hollers loudly to get people to pay attention. I would have walked out of this show halfway through the first song.
@@Don-zo4vx ,anthony newley was one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived.he was blessed to have a great voice in addition to charima.theres only one word to describe anthony newley, genius.
Pure class. A truly iconoclastic and truthful voice and presence.❤❤❤❤
Pure talent and a genius entertainer.

Fantastic. I met him before he did a show at the King's Head in London. He was such a wonderful man and I'll treasure it for life
A one-off. I love him, especially The Man Who Makes You Laugh. Absolute genius. It's not always about a 'perfect' voice.
The orchestra here is amazing.

Yes, he actually lived down the road from me! Had I known, I would have camped out there!
What a wonderful, clever man.....so sorry you are no longer with us Tony. I really love your talent.....too good to grow old. We miss you.
This live concert, may be considered one of the best ever.watching newley perform, was observing pure talent and a genius.

Maravilhoso 😍.
In the dictionary, next to the word 'entertainer', it should say 'Anthony Newley'
Thank you so much!

Wow
Love the name Nudnick
His movements are as fluid as water (or liquor in this case)
Have you VDO of Juliet Prowse on The monte carlo show? She sing All that jazz. Please upload, Thank you
Did anyone hear him say "candy-jew"?

Sad to see him drunkenly phone it in like this, but I understand why.

@Dottie Pollock
Wasn't it tikielvis that mentioned the drunken comment?

I’m sorry his voice does nothing for me. Think he’s very affected
Affected ?
