Like the owner said. This amp sounds like an angry bee! So instead of shoving the old overdrive in front of it, I payed tribute to one of my favourite bands ever ENTOMBED!!! Might not be what you wanted but fuck it I LOVE ENTOMBED!

Oranges have an incredible clean and are great for rock.
I hear way too many people saying that the TT is a "one-trick pony". I've played Weezer, Sabbath, Mastodon, Between the Buried and Me, Periphery, and just about everything else through my TT head, and it all sounds incredible. All you have to do is know how to dial in the amp (it's not hard, there's only three freaking knobs), roll back your guitar volume, and maybe run a boost in front of it to tighten it up for heavier riffing. This thing is easily my favorite low-wattage valve amp that I've ever played.
I agree that it sounds fantastic, but I want an amp that I can use live. I use the clean channel quite a bit on my mesa, and I need to have two completely seperate channels to really be able to play live. And with the 3 knobs that you talked about, sure it is easy to dial in, but it isn't practical for live application IMO. Maybe if you spend your entire show on one sound, maybe boosting it out front with a volume boost for solos, then maybe you could use it, but if you need cleans at all, you can't really use one of them live.

I use it live all the time with a volume pedal to roll back for clean tones.
Alex Wright Hello! i have this pedal and its working good! you can play in smal clubs and not problem with the sound. Its only 20 wats but dont worry, if you have a nice effect pedals and a good sound enginner you gonna make a good show :)

@Sulcuscentralis Note that a substantial amount of the grit is coming from the bass guitar in this video, guitars aren't distorted a whole lot.

This amp is amazing. I just used it on a 10 day tour playing miced and un-miced shows. It's loud enough for anything. The other guitarist of my band has a mesa dual rec and I had no problem competing with it.

It does, for it's uses. Personally, I've tried the Marshall MG50 at it sounded great for what it's worth.

If you're going to be playin August Burns Red, I definitely think you should check out a Fender Deluxe Reverb. That amp is about as metal as metalcore.

Did you bought it? I love the sound of Orange producs but unlucky i cant afford them. They seem so calid and agresive to me. I love that sound...
@15viceandvirtues I'm considering Peavey 6505... It can simply deliver the sound I'd like to achieve. I'm heavily into 80s rock/metal like Ratt, Dokken, VH or Motley Crue. It's obvious that 6505 fits well into heavier music, but I can't find reliable amp with reasonable price that is dedicated to something I want to play. Most amps on the market are dedicated to rock n roll sorta stuff or death metal sound. It's hard to find something between, so I'd choose 6505 because it's modernised 5150.

I still LOVE my TT! Boosted, it's great for dirty blues and with the right guitar, capable of some BLS style stoner sludge. Sabbath, of course, is definitely awesome as well on the Orange.
you may wanna try out the evh 5150 iii mini or the blackstar ht line ;)
