I got the NUX Amp Academy some months ago and I’ve got to say at first I was skeptical with NUX, but I absolutely love their equipment and the price is unbeatable for the quality and tone. This pedal has been quite exciting for me recently, though. Hope to get one of these by the end of the year!
Watching these makes me excited about guitar and guitar gear again. Such a great escape. I need me a Chapman, too many beasts to choose from- definitely going to be my gift to myself for my 40th next year.
Man, I had JUST gotten a Pod Go too. I’m gonna have to seriously think about this thing though. I had the old Nux Cerberus, which I loved, but I wanted something with amp sims.
A couple things Rob doesn’t mention here: First, there are actually *many more* types of effects for each category within the Trident…it’s just that three are ‘hard assigned’ to the toggle switches; those are swappable at the user’s discretion. Second (related), pretty sure that was a vibrato - or the vibrato side of a CE1 emulation - that Rob was using, not a chorus…hence the hard pitch shifting (vibrato) when he increased the depth. Really looking forward to the release of this - loved the Cerberus; this is essentially the Cerberus’s leveled-up, Super Saiyan cousin!
You are correct about the switches. And one other thing to keep in mind. The only similarity between the Cerberus and the Trident is the chassis/knobs/layout. Other than that, the Trident is a completely new product from the ground up! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it when you try it out for yourself!
Excellent video. The humor is great, as usual, but here's what I noticed. Unlike a lot of demos, you test gear the way *I* would. When testing a high gain tone, I hold the note to see how it sustains. Thank you for doing that.
I just love your videos, they make me feel all happy and fuzzy inside. The tones you're getting are fantastic! I'm quite happy with the MG-300 I bought last year, they make some great stuff. And I see, your transformation into a "Bob" is coming along well!
Bought the duo-time delay recently. It's extremely interesting. Pity there's no memories but it's got a looper and while in loop mode you can change the menu and unless your running in stereo you can just run one delay which makes more sense. 😁👍🇬🇧🎸
Nice demo! I’d love a mini version of this product and a version with an expression pedal. Great to see these types of products coming out with high quality tones and affordability at the forefront. 🫡
Hi Rod Great humour 😂 You mentioned you plugged into the Katana Return so I take it all that I was listening to was still the case, I’ve got the katana mki which doesn’t have the amp in is the return connection the same thing ? Thanks. Michael
I think the name of the company is pronounced "new X". That new effect you're talking about it sounds like the beginning of a Pantera song¿I'm not sure what song but it definitely has that effect! Pretty cool all-in-one pedal board You didn't show all the outputs and things it has, wondering if you can run it in stereo? Great demo as always. Hope to see some more stuff in the future I know you're a busy guy but I love your videos! PEACE BROTHER...
Thank you for posting! Very curious about this unit because I want a desktop WYSIWYG setup. Boss' last one was the ME-80 in 2014. The Cerberus had no amp modelling and no compressor. After years of watching you, I was very surprised to hear fwap in this video (the acoustic string sound in the room) and the whoofy muddiness of the room itself. I would have loved to hear a direct sound.
The vibe has flavours of Monkey Lord/Bandit days, and I'm here for it. Also Rob if you don't write a song with that massively wonky chorus effect I will never forgive you.
Practical question…can you see that screen and tuner with sunlight on it? Thinking from my point of view - cruise ship pool sets or festival gigs. It’s one thing sounding good but an absolute pain if the lights on pedal’s don’t show up or the screen - with regards to live outdoor performance the pedal lights being the more important in fact….?
Helo, I wanted to ask you a favor, could you tell me what amp model the Vibro King amp model is inspired by? I like it and would like to find it again on my Helix Floor thanks
So Rob with amps my fuzzface type fuzz goes right at the start of the chain - anywhere else sounds a bit crap. Where would i have to put it to sound good with this?
Nice demo!! Question: Is there a way to shut off the amp simulator with one of the buttons? I would use this mainly for direct recording but for the occasional gig I'd love to be able to shut the amp sim off and use a fuzz tone. Also have you A/B'd this unit with the Nux Cerebrus? I like the EFX pedal insert options of the Cerebrus but the Trident seems to sound fatter in all the demos I've seen
@@digitalchris6681 Too late. it just arrived yesterday :-) Have not had a chance to sit with it yet though.Thanx for responding albeit a little late. It arived just in time for me to try out on my new album which I am recording now.
Is it worth upgrading to this iver the mg300 if im not gigging? I didnt like the mg30 compared to the mg300, and i dont see the piint going to the mg400. This has me interested though.
It seems you have come a long way from the days of offering Star Wars figure giveaways (at least I think that was the give away back when I started watching).
@@RobChappers I love the telephone and other humor. Well thought out. Will there ever be guitars with those 'funny frets'? True temperament ? In your guitarbrand? Maybe something to considder. Or perhaps you can sell branded (with the right headstock) aftermarket necks.
Dude, I need this box! How many watts is it? Does it have a sweet spot? Is it transgender friendly? Would it go good with a Bud Light? Covid compatible? Can it get Eddy's "Smells like teen spirit" tone? Asking for a friend
You know what I'd like to see, an "influencer" actually Gig whatever the latest toy is, live with a Band, most of them are bedroom players, so probably couldnt, nobody is doing this, I wonder why? compare various widgets throughout the Set, have guest Pro's just plug in and give an honest unbiased opinions. go on do it, could probably sell tickets.
I gig with the cerebus if that helps. I do not use presets, just stomp mode. I turn the reverb on and then use that switch for the boost. I run it into the front of a fender bandmaster.
I had to cut out about five minutes of solid, laughing 😂
I am pleased to be receiving notifications coming from Mr ROb!!!!Chapperzzz :) I love learning from you brother!

That means a lot to me man!
That modulation effect was glorious. Inspirational!

The random riff generator effect is simply called "Vibrato". Like the Boss VB-2 :) 🤭
Nux have been amazing for the beginner for the last couple of years! Going from strength to strength 💪
Dug or is it digged this video format. Chappers seems very chill and happy these days 💜
I was blown away with the NUX MG-30 for under $200.
It's great. I have the little brother, the MG-300. It's so good.

NUX doesn’t disappoint. I assumed they were just the new Behringer, but I have been impressed by everything I have tried from NUX.
The insane depth sold me on this immediately
One of your better ones. Great humor.
I’ve been wanting one of these to mess around with ❤.. love your channel brother ❤

Thanks for covering this, just what I seek now if not too dark cuz I like airy ambient stuff.🎉 Need a white sparkly version.
Okay, now I must get one! Great Vibes 🕺🏻
The deep-depth on the Chorus would be like in the Synth-World, using the LFO to automatically modulate the Pitch Bend Wheel with Glide/Portamento on.

'Random Riff Generator' that's gotta be an ep
Thank you for the demo Mr Sutherland. It did indeed provide adequate evidence.
Excellent and new i inspiring chorus. Call it the South-by -North-South chorus
0:03 Mr. Sunderland.. Oh, that's a name I've have not heard for a while!
The Cerberus is also voiced a little on the dark side, especially the analog drive+distortion section and the stock 1960 4x12 IR.
Dude, I miss you with Lee. Hard to watch when you guys aren’t joking around together.
Hi Rod

Great demo and great sounds - thanks!
Good timing as I’m trying to build my rig
I don't understand why they eliminate tehe Od/Ds section that was on Cerberus. It's a game winner in that machine!
Wow you can even determine the wood species [mahogany]!! Never heard that through a digital modeler, perhaps only Yamaha DG series !

Yeah....I dont want to be judgey...but we can't tell much at all from the audio hear. And Rob Chapman should well know better than this.

That Chorus on full depth sounds like Steve Vai's Gravity storm
Whoa that's a cool addition indeed
YES they should make a seperate chorus pedal to emulate saxophone!! aaaahhh it has that tone i hear it aaaahhhhh! They could do it! Woooooow!!!!!
Seeing so many stories about how difficult it is to tour these days- is a clockwork tour or Chapman workshop is the works?
Not yet, but for sure we will - struggling to find a booking agent at the moment…

The chorus depth was hilarious! 🤣
The pedal shall be called "Mr Bigamy's DowwwwnUp"
Wow ... nuff said apart from great playing as usual.

Is there a release date for the Trident yet? I've been Googling it for a week and I get nothing. :)
Talk about “phoning it in”. 😊
I think you could hit up Adrian Belew for that sound! Befitting! But it does seem a bit dark. Can you not get that out with a bit of tweaking?

Trident or MG30? Which one do you prefer? Thanks

what kind of pedal expression that fit with Trident? Active or passive?
Really interested in one of theses... if anyone has purchased one and had some time to use it, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts!
New Pedal: Holiy Diver/Riser Chorus of the Angels :D
Hey Rob.😊
Hey
What's up with the splotchy paint job?
Anyone else hear Kevin Owens' WWE entrance music when he slowed down the Chorus speed and depth?! 😂 9:24

Great review, I want one of these bastards!
Why does the black finish have "bumps" all over it? Looks like they can't paint, not some sort of intentional texture finish.
I think it’s supposed to be a rough kind of finish… NUX definitely can make smooth product as well
NUX northernly southern chorus pedal
Hello?? Is that 44 double 4 triple 4 4?? Yes it is? I 've got my finger stuck in the rotary................. (You had to be there, 1970).

Can someone tell me if there is share library to trade patches with other users?
Is it out yet??
I hardly use the Marshall Amp on my board.

Can this unit control the Tonex via MIDI?
It would send/receive MIDI.
4 four linting hot retmix efektif
It's NEW EX you're welcome
I wonder if he kept calling it a preamp.. and said it was dark through the fx return.. did he turn off the cab sim?
Chaos Chorus

It is indeed all these things. And also... it doesn't smell of fish.
Wasn’t NUX the company that was found to have copy and pasted the code from another pedal maker into theirs?
After some more research it was Mooer, not NUX that directly copied the software.
