- Fishing for Tench at Frensham Great Pond, on June 16th 2015.
Landed 21(ish) tench, averaging over 6lb for about 140lbs in total, including a personal best of 7lb 15oz followed by another at 9lb 1oz!
A fantastic session.
Loved the summary at the end chilled but buzzing at the same time, and even more appreciative of all the nature around. I love it when I get a wee visitor (Robin my fave)

Amazing fishing.one of my fav tench fishing vids. You must smoke some amount of budgie to keep that cool and calm. Great to see your new vid back this week. Getting out for my first session on Wednesday. 6s are special in Ireland 7s are rare. 8.2 is the record. Lol ... hope for some 5s and a 6 or two

going back to worms for my next trip, I got sucked in by the boilies and fake bait fads, I like trying new things but disheartening after a while. may even film it if I get round to it.
Always my first choice. Rarely do better on anything else. I think the wriggling and vibrations help them locate the bait. Let us know how you get on. I'm going to Twynersh this weekend for a carpy social, so I'll probably blank!
I'm going next friday, just a club water that holds a good head of tench, chatting to a baliff the other day who said fish to 9lb caught in matches which is always nice to hear.
What bivvy/brolly you using mate?
ESP lo-pro. Had it since they came out. 4-5 yrs maybe. Very good. 6ft long when packed, which is my only complaint, and not really a problem.
