My first chance to pitch and play with the Nightcat Hammock Tent. This isn't a full review but is my initial impressions of this interesting take on the hammock design. This is also my first experience of pitching a hammock!
I was sent this hammock for free but I wasn't paid for the review and all opinions are my own.

Nice job mate. This came at the right time. I'm looking at hammock camping so this was brilliant man. The forest green colour is brilliant. Really good. Think I'd prefer it as a hammock than a ground tent. Lovely 1st impressions video. 👏👏
Thanks Martin. If you are intending to Hammock camp properly get an underblanket and a regular tarp to give more coverage on a wet evening. The cover on this only keeps the sleeping area dry.

Niall, always mindful of bugs here in Ireland🦟😊 Glad to see there was no contorted gymnastics getting in to the tent😊 It does have a really low profile and the side opening makes sense. it does look like one to use in the protected space of the forest. Much cooler though set up as a hammock👍 It reminded me of the flying cars in the Jetsons (if you are a certain age)😊 Nothing like staring straight up at the stars🌟 Cool options and will be cool to see it in use👍

Hi Niall never used a hammock to be honest (can see the charm of that system)
But for me this would make a cracking alternative to a Bivvi as you said 👍😊 especially in the long winter nights (rather be in this than a Bivvi bag ) 👍

Hi Niall. good pros and cons review. I imagine you have a lot of "out takes" from this video, because it looked like it takes a bit of practice getting into a swinging bed 🤕. Looking forward to seeing it in action next summer. Take care 👍

Really enjoyed that. Nice, easy going video. No interest in hammocking for now tho - I like my space to putter around in the tent if bad weather etc

Thanks Miriam, it was surprisingly enjoyable just for those few minutes, I expected it to be a bit nauseating but not at all 😊

Yes Miriam, planning on going down. Travelling Saturday evening after work to avoid a stupid o'clock start and van camping at a spot Martin gave me. Spoke to Gary a couple of days ago and he's heading down too. We can always form a wee clique on the bigger group - I'm not a huge fan of big groups either but this would be really cool 😎 I'll drop my phone number below if you want to chat on WhatsApp or make arrangements. Nice film, thank you. I am curious though, as to why someone would choose this over NightCats own "Lay Flat" hammock?
Good point. I was sent this as a review product from Night Cat and it was the only model they had at the time. It was upgraded and they added a few new items to the range last year. Unfortunately this is the only one that I have tried and can't compare to the lay flat version. Thanks for watching though, hope you enjoyed it 🙂
I did, lovely spot.
If you can, get a look at the LayFlat....I am a hammock novice, not liking the banana principle! but have been quite impressed with it, you do keep flat and can side sleep. Again you can bivvi with it too....the vlogger "DIVUM" did a short film with the both of us using them in the wet and cold. They worked very well.
