I had an above ground pool for years. I did not know a thing about our first pool, so I just went to a swimming pool center where they had all the things I needed. They helped quite a bit. I recommend you do that. They can help you with the pool chemicals that you need, as well as what you need to operate and clean the pool filter. Oh the cabinets look new !! That old English , I love it . Think if it as giving your wood a drink , it will soak it up and of you go over it a few more times it will get in any dry areas that don’t get enough the first time . 🥰
Watching you and Kyle work together brings me so much joy! You remind me so much of me and my sweet hubby. We’ve been married 42 years, and love being together, whether we’re working on a project, or just sitting watching a movie. And we’ll be spending even more time together, because he’s retiring at the end of September, and we’re beyond thrilled. Keep doing what you’re doing sweetie!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey Courtney,I have had both inground( at the house we sold) and now an above ground pool, I love it. Anyway my first tip is Don’t take your pool down for the winter. Leave it up year round. When you open it up for the next use shock it ( sold at Walmart) and buy a floating chlorinater , this keeps the pool chlorine dispensing slowly . Test kits to test water. All this is at Walmart and the test strips tell you what you need to add to get your water correct. It is really easy to keep it up. Thank you for another great video. God Bless. Sending love all the way from Alabama, Chrissie ♥️🙏
You look so fresh, Friend! I'm so overjoyed for you, Kyle and the girls ❤ It's exciting to see things with YOUR home going well and coming together for your good and His glory 🙌 BTW, I'm not a beef eater, but those steaks looked DIVINE 💯 Tfs and love you!
Hey, sweet Courtney and Kyle. I love how your home is coming along. I'm so happy for you guys! That old english oil, my granny told me about long ago. She used to keep it in her cleaning supply stash. I always wondered why her furniture and wood items always stayed nice. She used to tell me that the more you use it over time, the better the wood looks. So you know this stuff has been around for a long time. 😂 The steaks I did get from Foodlion yesterday. My husband and I got the 4 pack for 20 dollars. That was supper today. We also got the crab legs for a seafood boil. 😊
Hey Courtney, First let me say Congratulations on buying your home 🎉🍾i remember when we bought our forever home( a double wide on 10 acres) i remember the feeling of I don’t have to ask anyone about painting or anything I wanted to do to the house, and knowing that it was mine really made me feel like I was “At Home Finally “ does that make sense? Y’all are doing great making your home beautiful. That old English is great and also good for the wood , tip get a sponge or a sponge paint brush and put it on with that . Anyway Thank you for sharing your Beautiful home with us. God Bless. Sending love all the way from Alabama, Chrissie ♥️🙏
It's just so nice that Kyle helps you with the girls and everything. Those steaks look delicious. My mouth was watering. It's nice that you are doing and making improvements to something that is yours.
on the pool you need to put a inflatable pillow on the inside so the middle is up so water can drain off the cover of it . we just put in a saltwater above ground pool we absolutely love it very easy to maintain . i know you plug it where the jet is and if it has a skimmer u put a stygian block in there . we put pvc piping on our pool so we can bring the pump in for the winter . i’m learning also as we go 😂
Watching you reminded me I need to do my hutch which I do once a year with Old English. I also use Old English Lemon Oil on my lighter wood furniture. My daughter built 3 desks with precut unstained lumber and used the old english as a stain and several coats of polyurethane and they came out beautiful. That stuff lasts a long time because you don't need much. For your spider webs: Dollar Tree has a roundish bristle brush (don't remember the proper name for it) but you get that and the handle and it is great for getting the cob webs. I get a lot in my garage and porch and it works.
Add more water to the pool and throw in shock treatment. If you have enough water in it you can get inflatable pool pillows to put under the cover so water will pour off instead of collecting on top
Congratulations on purchasing your home. We have a double wide manufactured home and have a similar testimony. I would love to share our story with you one day❤
Hey, If you may want your husband check the pool pump , just incase you need to buy another. The pool pumps are always cheaper online during the winter months . Also if you have to get a new pool pump go with a bigger pump than the basic one it came with. Remember the more the water flows (circulates) the less your chances of pool water turning green (algae) . Sand filter pumps are the best. I enjoy all your content 😁
Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll have him look and possibly just buy a sand filter for it I’ve heard they are a little pricey but definitely worth it 😊
You guys are just the best together! The wienies for the girls was perfection, I still do the skin and the slices for my grandkids. Never stop being this great couple !!!!
You need a "pool pillow" for the center of the pool (might need two for that big pool)...floats on the water. The tarp then covers that and water will run off the sides.
They have furniture paint pens that match the color of the wood. I used them on my bedroom set and it really works. Find them in the hardware section of Walmart. They aren't expensive. That Old English helped but didn't get all the scratches. This stuff will. You just put it on the scratch itself. But you made the cabinets look better anyway. ❤
For those stubborn spots on the cabinets where the Old English doesn't seem to color them in well, you can get a stain pen from Lowe's or Home Depot and try that.
@@allybiebs_ girllll I feel you, this has been one busy week I still gotta catch up on yours too I’ve been wanting to watch your fall decorate with me video 🤗
We have an above ground pool and the only way we can keep the cover on is using some spring clamps. We put them all the way around. You will want to drain the entire thing and vacuum it this spring.

I love to see couples taking pride in what they own and not take it all for granted. You show so much pride in where you set up home, even when you were renting y’all showed major pride. It’s a beautiful thing. 🥰 Love it💕

The pride I feel for him is overwhelming, I’m so very proud he has done better than I have in my life. I can now relax a little knowing he will be ok. I’m sure your grandparents feel that for you.❤
The little projects always make such a big difference. The bathroom cabinets look amazing! I have lots of wood & use Old English. Steaks look super yummy Kyle. Ribeyes are my favorite! ❤❤❤
@@HomeSweepHomeThey look fabulous! I’ve used the Old English scratch cover for years for the nicks and scratches, and the Old English polish ( comes in liquid or spray) for maintenance, usually monthly or so. I have a lot of old furniture so I like the liquid, but either would help keep all those cabinets looking really good!
Hi Courtney I'm a little late watching your video IV been visiting my grandchildren it was so lovely watching you and Kyle working together your steak meal looked delicious I loved the girls Halloween outfits so adorable take care 🥰🌹
Hi, i love watching you! I would put enough water in it so the cover will float on top. If not the cover will continue to pull the sides in and it may damage it. And sand filters are worth every dime.
Great job on the porch clean up. Since you replaced the screen Moonpie can sit and hear the birds and smell some fresh air now. That Old English sure worked miracles on that wood. Your little princesses are adorable. 🥰
Hey Courtney👋 Enjoyed this great video😊 Your cabinets look great.I have used that Old English furniture polish for years!! Its great!! Love the girlies Halloween outfit😊 Your supper looked delicious😋 Sending❤
You need to go to a pool store and ask them how to winterize a pool. We had a big pool for years and my husband did it. I know you keep it full and add a bunch of chemicals and float some balls under the cover. To hold the tarp up. That's all I know. But if you do it right you can open it and swim. If you do it wrong you have to empty it and scrub the sides down then fill it again. Which take like 2 days. And according to my husband it's hard work. 😊
Thank you so so much for all of the advice I really appreciate it I will speak to a pool store also and see if I can find some videos on UA-cam about it 😊
Those cupboards may take another coat of old English because they were pretty dry and beat up. I do my cupboards once a month with it to keep them looking new. I put it on and let it dry then wipe off. Takes just a few minutes. Love how you kids make your homes nicer than when you first move in. 🥰
I have used this for years and seeing you do thus reminds me before all the holidays get here ,I need to.do all cabinets and vanities! I do nit enjoy doing it but it looks so.goid after I do. Yours look new!

My son and his wife buys homes and flips them and they do it together. You and Kyle remind me so much of them! Sookie and sissy playing with DaDa was so sweet! I love to hear their sweet little laughs.🥰
Think hard about leaving dirty green water in there . One thing if the water in there freezes how much will ice damage the pool. My kids always empty and clean theirs out . They still do some cleaning in the spring but I don’t think it’s as much as it would have been. This is just my opinion, so just do what you think is best.❤❤
@@sandypittman8182 no I completely agree I really don’t want to leave it green like that I’m going to call a pool store next week and see what they tell me I can do about it 🥰
It just amazes me how well you and hubby work together. That’s the way all marriages should be. You guys are awesome. Your steak looked awesome too. Instead of putting it in the refrigerator for three hours to marinate, let it sit out for three hours. When you let your steaks, sit out for 3 to 4 hours at room temp , you have the best steak ever
How can I forget I wanted to say that first off Kyle you're doing a fantastic job on covering your pool like that there's really no right or wrong way of doing it Kyle's doing a pretty good job for what you're doing now. But I will say growing up I used to have above ground pool my dad would always maintain the pool but he did too is another tip you can do is take plastic milk containers fill them up with water and then get your string and tie it on the handle of The Milk Jug and then tie it to the top of the pool where there's holes in the tarp and then have them hang all around the pool and that's another way you can do to to keep your tarp from flying off and protect it but Kyle's doing a great job I love you guys so so much❤
Hey Courtney and Kyle, I just wanted to let you know what a chef told me once. You shouldn't salt your steaks until right when you are going to cook them. Salt draws all the juices out of the steak. It will make your steak not as juicy if you salt it way before you cook it. I love everything you're doing to your new home. As a mama and grandma, I am so proud of you both.
Salting penetrates the meat and draws the moisture out like you said, but then it creates a brine that essentially goes right back into the meat so that it doesn’t dry out. It is essential that you salt it 40 minutes prior to cooking, because it is a chemical process. Marinades are loaded with sodium. Seasoning our steaks with lots of salt is how we have been doing our steaks more recently, and they are delicious and moist 👍

I’ve used the Old English scratch cover for years for the nicks and scratches, and the Old English polish ( comes in liquid or spray) for maintenance, usually monthly or so. I have a lot of old furniture so I like the liquid, but either would help keep all those cabinets looking really good!
Salt water pools are great for your skin. No chemicals needed. Check ✅ it out .
Hi Courtney I'm a little late watching your video IV been visiting my grandchildren it was so lovely watching you and Kyle working together your steak meal looked delicious I loved the girls Halloween outfits so adorable take care 🥰🌹
Thank you so much I hope you had a good time visiting your grandkids 🤗❤️
@@HomeSweepHome your wellcome courtney i had a great time with my grandchildren bit tired now early night i think lol thankyou for asking 🥰🌹
Hi, i love watching you! I would put enough water in it so the cover will float on top. If not the cover will continue to pull the sides in and it may damage it. And sand filters are worth every dime.
That's a good idea! I think we will definitely buy one of those filters I’ve heard a lot of good things about them!
Great job on the porch clean up. Since you replaced the screen Moonpie can sit and hear the birds and smell some fresh air now. That Old English sure worked miracles on that wood. Your little princesses are adorable. 🥰
She’s going to love that 🥰
Amanda Payne cleaned her pool Courtney she made a fantastic job of it. take a look. it was amazing. 👍🏻
I will definitely check it out today thank you! 😊
Hey Courtney👋 Enjoyed this great video😊 Your cabinets look great.I have used that Old English furniture polish for years!! Its great!! Love the girlies Halloween outfit😊 Your supper looked delicious😋 Sending❤
Thank you so much 😊
You need to go to a pool store and ask them how to winterize a pool. 😊
Thank you so so much for all of the advice I really appreciate it I will speak to a pool store also and see if I can find some videos on UA-cam about it 😊
Above groud pools are so easy i was nee to our when we got it frw years back yall will get it ❤
I’m excited to be able to use it next year cause we’ve never had one 😆
Those cupboards may take another coat of old English because they were pretty dry and beat up. I do my cupboards once a month with it to keep them looking new. I put it on and let it dry then wipe off. Takes just a few minutes. Love how you kids make your homes nicer than when you first move in. 🥰
I agree it definitely needs another coat those poor cabinets were thirsty lol 😆
Go team!!! Teamwork makes the dream work. I love how you two tackle projects together.
Thank you! 😊
I have used this for years and seeing you do thus reminds me before all the holidays get here ,I need to.do all cabinets and vanities! I do nit enjoy doing it but it looks so.goid after I do. Yours look new!
Thank you I need to do the kitchen cabinets next 😊
Moonpie moonpie what are you trying to catch at the door.....you precious child......
I pray you get your fffuuuurrrrr friend soon......
She’s been after something lol 😂
Hey there Courtney - Happy Tuesday! Watching Sissy playing with her daddy was precious! Love those girls 💕
Also the steaks looked downright sinful - they were making my mouth water! I bet the house smelled so good! Have a great week.
It sure did! lol thank you I hope you do too 😊❤️❤️
So motivating!! That dinner looks delicious! We had our anatomy scan yesterday and baby boy looks good! 🩵
I’m so glad! I was literally going to ask you about it next time you commented lol that’s great news and I know it eases your mind a lot more 😊❤️❤️
@@HomeSweepHome definitely! 😊

Thank you so much!!😊
The cabinets looked great after the Old English! They do make wood filler crayons that will work & fill in some of those deeper scratches or worn areas. Food looked amazing! You are getting so much done.
@@lindaschneidewind8164 thank you 😊

Thank you so much!! And I will post one for y’all 😊
The bathroom cabinets look amazing. Even if your kitchen cabinets aren't scratched, they would probably also look even better with the oil rubbed into the wood. Your home looks more beautiful after each project.
I totally agree! I’ll be doing them soon 😊
Great video sweet Courtney! So happy to see y'all working on YOUR home!! I love your little family, Kyle reminds me so much of my seeet husband. He has stepped and taken on literally everything, on top of working, so I can rest and recover, and yes im slowly feeling better every day! Thank the good Lord! Teamwork and mutual respect is a winning combo so keep it up! Now, send him over to cook us one of those yummy steaks! Have a blessed week sweet family ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey sweet Courtney, Kyle, littles and Moonpie. You and Kyle are such hard workers and to be a young couple who isn’t lazy and works together to make their dreams come true. I feel we are all proud of you both! Your home is coming together beautifully and y’all’s hard work is paying off. Many blessings to you both.
I sure wish I had your energy. The last few days I have been so blah. ❤❤❤❤
Don’t worry I get like that too I hate when I feel like that 😮💨
Good morning. I just have to tell you. The more I see of your sweet husband the more I love him. He is just so precious. He reminds me of my sweet husband of 42 years. You both just bless my heart
Thank you so much he definitely does so so much for us it amazes me how much he helps me out at home with him also working 45+ hours a week 🥰
Loving the new looks can't wait to c what's next and I love the music you use what are the artist loving the shinny cabinets glad baby is better

Great video today Courtney your husband is a keeper your a beautiful family and home 🏡 love you guys so much have a great day 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Thank you so much!!😊
My son and his wife buys homes and flips them and they do it together. You and Kyle remind me so much of them! Sookie and sissy playing with DaDa was so sweet! I love to hear their sweet little laughs.🥰
Thank you so much if me and Kyle could get to do that one day I’d love that!
That made your cabinets look so good,if I was you I would do the kitchen cabinets to ,everything is looking so good 😊
Thank you i definitely am 😊❤️
Thank you so much! That’s a great idea 😊
There's a restaurant here that makes rosemary butter and spreads it on top when they serve the steak
I bet that is sooo good 😍
You should be able to pop your screen door out of the door frame and lay it down to replace the screen …. Makes the job soooo much easier
@@setxliving7257 I agree it would’ve been a lot faster lol
My cat, Buffy, loves the empty laundry basket on top on the dryer.
😂😂😂
How can I forget I wanted to say that first off Kyle you're doing a fantastic job on covering your pool like that there's really no right or wrong way of doing it Kyle's doing a pretty good job for what you're doing now. But I will say growing up I used to have above ground pool my dad would always maintain the pool but he did too is another tip you can do is take plastic milk containers fill them up with water and then get your string and tie it on the handle of The Milk Jug and then tie it to the top of the pool where there's holes in the tarp and then have them hang all around the pool and that's another way you can do to to keep your tarp from flying off and protect it but Kyle's doing a great job I love you guys so so much❤
Yes it will anchor the tarp down from blowing off and help leaves and other debris going in.
Someone else also suggested this I definitely wanna do it!
I loved your video today, you and your husband work so well together. Cute couple 😊 I enjoyed so much, I am watching for a second time 😊
Thank you so much!!😊
I used to do the exact same thing with hot dogs when my girls were little.
Good afternoon Courtney and Kyle and family and thank you for sharing your beautiful home
Good afternoon I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊❤️❤️
Hey Courtney and Kyle, I just wanted to let you know what a chef told me once. You shouldn't salt your steaks until right when you are going to cook them. Salt draws all the juices out of the steak. It will make your steak not as juicy if you salt it way before you cook it. I love everything you're doing to your new home. As a mama and grandma, I am so proud of you both.
Thank you for the tip I didn’t know that! 😊❤️❤️
@@ke3959 thank you for the tip 😊
Salting penetrates the meat and draws the moisture out like you said, but then it creates a brine that essentially goes right back into the meat so that it doesn’t dry out. It is essential that you salt it 40 minutes prior to cooking, because it is a chemical process. Marinades are loaded with sodium. Seasoning our steaks with lots of salt is how we have been doing our steaks more recently, and they are delicious and moist 👍
Either right before cooking or at least 40 minutes before cooking...the 40 mins will allow the salt to draw the moisture out and let it back in ☺️
Courtney and Kyle brilliant team work well done.👍👍👍
Thank you 😊
