@@jimmielin1141 Seems rather large for an interceptor. I cannot imagine this thing in a dogfight. Either China believes they found a way to get rid of dogfights once and for all, or it´s more of a very fast ground attack plane, like an F-111.
My take is that if a nation has the logistics of being able to produce its own planes that it always should. Decreasing dependency would be good for the nation and gives a lot more control and sovereignty

This plane is not a dogfighter, it's a interceptor, meaning it can't fight in close combat because it lack agility, but it can shoot missile from afar. It is the only stealthy interceptor.

it seems close to the stealth level of the F22, but it seem again(only my guess) it lacks the advanced thrusting the F22 and SU57 Felon have, both can do some crazy maneuvers in the air.
J20 has the capacity of doing that,but not in this airshow.Even J10 can do that kind of maneuver.

J20 engine are too smoky. They will be detected and destroyed quickly. China can't even build an engine they need Russia for engines

This plane is not a dogfighter, it's a interceptor, meaning it can't fight in close combat because it lack agility, but it can shoot missile from afar. It is the only stealthy interceptor.
YES! finally someone who knows aircraft! People are saying why the J-20 does not have thrust vectoring and why it does not look like a dog fighter.
China built the J-20 for intercepting enemy aircraft, intercepters throughout history always had very strong engines so that's why the J-20 comes with the WS-10B engines a stronger version of the WS-10 you might see on their J-9 I am pretty sure.
