Thank you for your videos. I visited Glencoe in 1993 and I must say that the area is amazingly beautiful. It was in winter time and I remember that the car we rented was totally frozen, well, not the car but the windshield , and doors. It took us 40 minutes to be able to clean the frozen snow and open de door. Great experience, I remember that some lakes and rivers were also frozen.

Very nice video of the "happy place" for this Scot and his wife. Love Glen Coe 😍. Tiny hint. Glen is a valley in Scotland, so saying Glen Coe Valley is like saying Valley Coe Valley. But what was VERY impressive was your pronunciation of Loch Achtriochtan. 👏👏👏!!

Ah thanks a lot for enlighten me about the word Glen! I totally didn’t know that 🙈😅

Loving your enthusiasm, and your appreciation of our country, and I am impressed with your excellent English.
Um, but, you are in Scotland where there is also the Gaelic language!
Don’t worry, most English people have no clue what either.
Your pronunciation of loch Achtriochan was near perfect.
But it is not a lake.
    It is a loch.
    And allt is river.
    Ard is a promentary
Strath is an estuary or wide glen.
A glen is a glen, not a valley,
Yup, it’s a new language for most, but it helps to know why Glenfinnan is a glen of ‘ finnan’,
Loch Alsh, is loch aillse, or foaming water, ( due to its fast tidal flow,) etc.
Each place name has been written down in english format, and is just a noise; a pretendy approximation of the true meaning in Gaelic.
So a loch is a loch. The English call it a lake….or failing, call it a lock.
Sorry to get nippy, and your productions are really good.
Many coastal places are Norse words too. Hey, vikings already!
    Enjoy, enjoy.
    Good luck and good travels.

Saying glencoe valley is like saying river Colorado river.
Glen is Gaelic for the English approximation of valley.
A wide valley is a strath in Scotland.
As in Strathspey, of the river Spey, or valley of the river Esk , is the water water; esk being the English approximation of uisge; literally water.
Uisge beatha means water of life.
Basterdised as whisky in the English language translation.
      Like eau de vie.
Modern spell check is an equivalent of the colonising English suppression of the Scots Gaelic place names.
