I read this book last summer, though I started it a long time before (took me some time to get through it). It’s heavy but substantial. The ending was superb! I’m a Muslim btw, so my one critique was his defence of Christianity in comparison to Islam was very short (one/two sentences from my memory). I wish it was more thorough only because I’d like to know why Feser decided upon Christianity over Islam.
I think it's good to try to keep a lighthearted approach. You and I might see the depth to these arguments, but in my experience we can only do so much. I remember listening to Karlo Broussard say on Catholic Answers - the Son of God himself came down from Heaven and taught the purest truth of all time - no flaw, no mistake in reasoning - and they crucified him. I remember that and it helps me stay the course :) Thanks for visiting my channel, Gabe!
well if ur argument is that complex things require a creator then surely the creator of such complexity must be even more complexer and requires a creator as well it's ur argument cant u understand????but u like to do special pleading fallacy don't u
Great - don't be discouraged when you begin reading. You might have to take a few cracks at it before Feser's arguments begin to sink in. This book is gold and a useful reference after you've read it.
Unfortunately, the book is filled with incosistent arguments to prove that Realism is an adequate model to explain the reality. Concerning the "secularism" he criticizes, fallacies are used to validate some of his views. For example, he says that homossexual marriage is metaphysically wrong, which is a nonsense. The only positive aspects of this book so far it is the explanation of aristotelian and tomist metaphysics.
Fantastic review. Edward Feser is the kind of serious thinker we need right now.
Thank you for the comment - highly agreed! I hope to review additional Feser books in the future!
@@SearchingTheArchives You could review some G.K. Chesterton books too. 'Orthodoxy' is absolute genius.
THE AUTHOR WE NEED BUT NOT THE ONE WE DESERVE
Very good presentation. Aristotle and Aquinas are the way out of the dark of the modern world. Feser is a great guide. The lights will go on.
Thank you! I think so too!
I have many books of this great philosopher and i think, this particular book is very high level of philosophy and theology.
Thank you for the comment Bakari - I agree this book is very high level!
Wow new subscriber here ! You have given me food for thought. Something to ponder on.
Thank you for the nice comments Paula! I'm happy you're a new subscriber and I hope to continue producing content you'll find worthwhile !
Very good review. I just finished the book and came to watch what people are speaking about this book. Cheers from Brazil.
This is a really good review of a book everyone should read if you want to literally understand reality. Cheers
Thanks Tom! I appreciate the kind words!
@@SearchingTheArchives Simple justice my friend. I wish I had done such a review. Imagine the west waking up to what we threw away. Cheers

Dawkins refutation of the first cause argument was literally who created God? Like wtf it’s a FIRST CAUSE argument. Like how does Dawkins not get this
