Just bought the 153 over the 152 for exactly the same reason. Some scopes in this similar price range can also save the wave form and you can also scroll through several frames. But you can't beat the 152/153 for the from factor and simplicity of use, which is important if you are just starting out trying to use a scope for diagnostic work. Enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.

Did you notice how slow the refresh rate is on the 153? 152 updates the screen many times faster. Easily seen on the longer timescales. I wrote an email about this to FNIRSI support but didn't get any reasonable explanation. Might be the CPU hitting it's limits with the 5Ms/s or something.

With my very limited use of the 153 I didn’t notice to be honest. But will take note. Thx for your observation and watching. 🍻

Dude it's terrible. Just got a 153 to look at aperiodic audio freq waveforms. It displays periodic stuff okay, try an aperiodic waveform it's basically unusable.
I'm hopeful the firmware upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 will correct it. If not, I'll stick with the 152.

@@BradKwfc Yeah agreed. DSO152 is much better for audio stuff.

Nice video, thanks for taking the time to share. As I am going to be a learner, do think the Fnirsi DSO - 153 is the way to go, as I was looking a the Hantek 6074BE ? Thanks again. Cheers

Depends on your intentions. 152 or 153 will provide a very cheap highly portable learning platform, draw back being it’s only single channel. First scope I ever had was the Hantek 1008. I learned a great deal from it and is also very reasonably priced. Portability is not great. So it really depends on what you plan to use it for. Thx for watching 🍻

Hi Gibby3340, the Hantek 1008 was also on my list for my first scope. Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. Cheers

1008 was great for me at the time. Painfully slow by today’s standards. 👍

hi. did you happen to test them to check the ripple on the 12v of an ATX power supply for a desktop/server PC? How accurate is it? I have several power supplies at home and wanted to see if they were good. thanks

It’s amazing how cheap they could get these things now. In theory, they should be able to do this on the Apple Watch? 😂 be a little hard to see how to use the magnifying glasses.
