I’d absolutely consider an engine rebuild with warranty. Pretty encouraging to see the solid resale prices and high mileage regardless of the engine concerns.
How the hell did that Army green truck get 163k miles in 3 years? $30k with a new engine is a steal. Dealer will probably go down on that price too. It'll be gone tomorrow i bet. 😂
Most people who are trash talking about the new model either never owned a Tundra before or the new Tundra. They're blowing it out of proportion as if every major truck brands don't have any major issues.
I’m a big Toyota fan. I have an 2011 Avalon I bought new with 182,000+ miles on it. Only thing that’s happened is driver seat leather is kinda thin and now torn due to wear, headliner coming down and dash beginning to peel. Also, the rear sunshade doesn’t work anymore. Its pearl white and had issues there but Toyota rePainted it for me. Love the car, butter smooth, changed o2 sensors that’s it, normal maintenance… with that said,how’s the interior on these high mileage trucks? Any owners here who can comment? I like the 1794 limited…. I’m also looking at gmc sierra Denali ultimate,ate with 6.2l v8. Thoughts?
It almost reminds of the 08-10 civics when the blocks were cracking. There are plenty of those civics approaching 300k might be one of the most reliable engines ever made.
Even with the issues that Toyota and the others are having trucks today go further with fewer problems then in years past. This is not surprising at all. Only a small percentage of the recalled units are coming apart. Even a few outside the recall have had issues. Change your oil at 500 miles, 2500 miles, 5000 miles and then every 5000 miles thereafter. My opinion is that oil passages are getting clogged with metal as these engine break in. The filter gets clogged quickly as well. Some mechanics recommend 3000 mile oil changes.
Change your oil more often with good synthetic more pure the better, is the cheapest maintenance in any car in most cases in your Turbo engines, 91 octane and you get the fuel efficiency and longevity, make it a level playing field, but give me a naturally aspirated big v8 for a truck and utility, it’s still better
No sir, just an avid supporter of military and first responders. The top of the board behind me is my friend Sam (FDNY) that died in the towers on 9/11, under that, my father, who is a retired police sgt and Vietnam vet. The rest is sent in from the viewers.
But Mark the internet said there are engines blowing up all over! Also the turbos are not supposed to last either 😂😂 Those odometers must have been dialed up!!! Conspiracy.
@@nickanderson5825 Very true I am waiting for my new engine on my ‘22 SR5 as it is recalled. However, the overall rate of failure appears to be much lower than the internet makes it out to be. 40K miles on my engine so far with no issues.
My 2022 SR5 TRD off road is at 97K miles already and still going strong.
I have the same truck with only 27000kms
163K miles is incredible in almost 3 years. That’s great to see and gives me hope for my hybrid engine.

No mine don’t, but there is a TSB (service bulletin) on the squeling brake issue. T-SB-0043-24

I am not a fan of the 3rd gens, but if you could find a high miles truck for cheap and then get a new engine, it might be worth it.

Received my 2025 1793 TRD metallic gray with 6.5 bed, compared to my 2000 1st gen Tundra, its awesome.
The 2023 with 154k is some serious driving. That’s about 6500 miles a month!

Do we know if any of these got new engines and were then listed for sale? Does a new engine reset the odometer?
They just started with the recall engine replacements a week or so ago. The odometer doesn’t get reset

My father had a 93 civic. He put 400k on it. Was a great car. It was still going strong when he sold it.
I have 22’ tundra limited with 28k miles with no problems and I can’t wait to get a 2025 new engine with 2022 tech
The good news is the tech didn’t really change between the model years 👍🏼
