C5!! The body lines are timeless and just look tough going down the road. I actually own a C5 2001 Convertible quick silver with red cherry interior w a white top. ( 1of 300 color combination) only 34 K miles 👍

I think my C5 rode better than my C7, and was quieter on the road. I Dynamated the entire interior on my C7. I was not concerned about the added weight.

I went back to my C6 from a C7, C7 was a better driving car but the C6 “feels” better. I do get what you’re saying about the Direct injected C7, not that much more power than my reliable LS3
I have owned 6 Corvettes. 1989 C4. 1995 C4. 1995 ZR1. 1996 Grand Sport with Red Interior. 2000 C5. 2017 C7 Grand Sport. I liked them all. I had a minor fortune in my 2000 with full Caravaggio Interior. I even had the roll bar covered in leather. Favorite. 1996 Grand Sport.

I've owned four C5s and two C7s. The only thing I liked about the C5s more was that they were less expensive. The C5s were slower, less comfortable (TERRIBLE seats in the C5), had weird ABS module and steering column lock issues, and most importantly, we're way slower, and floatier than the C7s. I loved them back in the day but I feel that they've been surpassed. I'm sure that if I couldn't afford the newer cars I'd still have one though, for the money they can't be beat ...or even challenged for that matter.
I currently own a C5 '02 coupe all black with only 2 options (glass top and chrome wheels). I also rented a '17 3LT Coupe Vette while in Las Vegas from Enterprise. Yes the C7 is a faster car but I like my C5 because it's mines I bought through blood, sweat and tears.
Funny when you say indestructible. At ~12K miles (we had upgraded heads and cam) one of the pistons shattered on our C5. The good news is we installed a C5R-427 to replace the engine and that engine was indestructible. We ran 20+ track events with zero problems. That engine is still running hard today. The guy who bought takes it to the track.
I agree about less expensive My 2001 was bought it in 2011 and had 40k miles and I bought my C 7 in March 2014 new and still have it 56 k miles now best things about C 7 is the seats and headlights so both manual 6 sp vrs 7 sp

I have a pewter 99 that I purchased when I came home from Iraq. The interior is garbage on the C5 that's my main complaint and the stock seats are worthless. But I didn't buy it for the interior I bought it for the engine and drivetrain. It's difficult to not compare when you have another vehicle that has better interior.

The C8 I have plenty of room. That’s probably what I’m upgrading to this fall. However… I’d rather have a C7Z. Never realized once you get the coin to afford fun cars. Certain ones I just don’t fit in.

I love my '02 Z06 to pieces, but the damned thing has had just about every single bug, glitch, gremlin, and issue that can possibly happen to a C5. I'm sure the C7 has its own share of issues, but from what I understand, a lot of the SAME issues the C5's had were ironed out by then. I'd love to drive a C7 someday, so I can comment on how the 2 compare.

@@Joey856721 Many of them are electrical, but some of them aren't. The LS is a tank, and extremely reliable platform, EXCEPT for the '02 model year of the vette, and SPECIFICALLY the Z06, had a run of bad valve springs, which will usually start collapsing around the 100k mile mark.
The McLaren F1 is the most iconic exotic car ever built and the people that designed the C5 must have been a fan because the resemblance is uncanny! '02 ZO6 ¿`_

For me, it's styling too. I looked at the C7, but it looks cheaply built with the plastic accents. I ended up with a C5 Z that is lowered with black wheels. Great car!! It still feels raw enough, but not overly raw. It strikes a nice balance between an old muscle car and the numbness of most newer cars. That's my opinion.
Hello Elijah. I have not owned a C6 but do like them. That generation brought us back the ZR1, made the Z06 (say Z six) a significant step up over the C5 Z versus C5 base and offered a Z06 motor in a non Z car. I would own one for sure!
I have an 81 vette and a 93 anniversary. I like them, but they are certainly not greatly built great cars. They look nice but feel very cheap. Chevy. Oh well.

I have a C7 grand sport and I just sold my C8 to some idiot lol. I do not like the C8 at all. Chevy missed the mark on this one. It's an ugly car now that I see them EVERYWHERE. To me, the look of the ass end is terrible. The wheels are ugly and not fit with the wheel well at all. They shouldn't have continued the corvette name. It's awkward sitting so far up front when you're used to sitting merely inches from the back tire. It's not a corvette. I am now buying all the C7's and C6's I can. I have a blue C7 z06 being shipped right now. Has 2800 miles on it. Now looking for a c6 grand or Z.

@@Corvette-Dan yes. I paid 89 and sold it for 105. I only put about 400 miles on it. There are many things I don't like about the c8. To me, 2019 was the end of the corvette. I would like to have at least one of every Gen. eventually.

Another fact to its way cheaper to upgrade the C5 than the C7. The LS parts are cheaper than the LT parts. Because of the technology difference.

I have a C7 grand sport and I just sold my C8 to some idiot lol. I do not like the C8 at all. Chevy missed the mark on this one. It's an ugly car now that I see them EVERYWHERE. To me, the look of the ass end is terrible. The wheels are ugly and not fit with the wheel well at all. They shouldn't have continued the corvette name. It's awkward sitting so far up front when you're used to sitting merely inches from the back tire. It's not a corvette. I am now buying all the C7's and C6's I can. I have a blue C7 z06 being shipped right now. Has 2800 miles on it. Now looking for a c6 grand or Z.

@@Corvette-Dan yes. I paid 89 and sold it for 105. I only put about 400 miles on it. There are many things I don't like about the c8. To me, 2019 was the end of the corvette. I would like to have at least one of every Gen. eventually.
@@BojaneBugami I agree, the c8 is Corvette in name only, I also see them everywhere around here, I get alot of looks in my c6 grand sport because these days are just not that many on the road anymore at least around here. I may also get a c7 in the future but not at the current prices
@@benfarr6049 I really lucked out. I got my c7 grand with 3k miles in December 2020 for 62k. That same car now is 76k. It's insane. I think people are realizing what treasures the c6 and c7 are.
