I took a trip with my dad across florida, me in my 00 and him in his 17 challenger R/T. Even with his his fancy ECO mode where it only uses 4cl, he only got 24mpg! I love it!
Great vid. I felt lucky to have found my 02 ragtop w/26,000 miles for $ 24,000 just over a year ago. I'd been following the prices waiting to pay the house off before I bought it and I was about 6 months late before the used market got jacked up.
Just found your channel after looking for visor installation instructions, took me less than 10 minutes to install and thank you for the tutorial. I have a 98 pace car that I’ve had 5 years now, paid 8k for it and now have more than 206k miles. Took it on a trip around the perimeter of the lower peninsula of Michigan. This is my fourth and favorite Corvette.
Other things I love about my '03 C5: telescoping steering wheel - I can put the seat way back in a comfortable position for my legs, without having to stretch my arms out like a baboon to reach the wheel. That was a must. Also, I was fortunate that the prior owners did not wreck the seats so they are in great shape and are very comfortable. The C5 has an awesome owner community that is happy to give great advice on maintenance and repair issues. Finally, this is one of the most rigid convertibles I've ever owned. No cowl shake, no rattles, nothing but a glorious open-air experience. Agree with all your other points - in my opinion, this generation's looks are timeless. The edgy designs of the following generations will not age well.
Torch Red C5 coupe has timeless looks. Motor Trend 1998 Car of the Year. I ordered my 98 Z51 6 speed stick back in October 97. I still have it and still love its performance, despite now also owning a 19 C7 GS 7 speed stick.
I own a '99 Torch Red coupe with 46k miles. Installed mid range Borla's with new Continental Extreme Sport tires. The main dislike about the interior is the cupholder. I remedied that with an aftermarket cup holder attachment from Corvette Clips. Love my ride and yours Rocks bro!!
I believe Porsche posted a comment years ago about how sports cars shouldn't have cup holders, but I agree the one provided from the factory is inadequate
I would like to see a better solution for this, but considering Portia didn't even put cup holders in their cars until the mid 2000s I don't think it falls behind its peers
Can you tell me where you bought that amazing wing? I have the same car same color same year and I’ve watched all your videos on it probably 5 times each. I decided to subscribe and say thank you for the content Also what percent tint is on your windows? Would you go 5% all the way around?
Thanks for subscribing! ua-cam.com/video/1wEd9y-5500/v-deo.html That video sound have all the information on the spoiler I use (a link should be in the description). As for the tint, it's 35% ceramic tint all the way around (except windshield). It had 5% tint on it when I bought it and found it too hard to see at night. Hope that helps!
None at all! The only parts I can't seem to find for this vehicle are direct replacement shocks for the F45 suspension, though they're are plenty of kits to convert it to normal suspension
I pretty much copied your c5. I did up the hp from 350 to 425. Definitely want to change my seats soon. I still need to put in my touchscreen radio & bezel.
If you are looking for a C5 specifically, I wouldn't recommend getting anything earlier than a 2001. 2001 through 2004 are a little more robust, more refined, and more repairable
considerably more than what you paid for your Corvette I bought doing epidemic when there wasn't very many cars on the lot 😔 I paid about $31,000 for my c5 Corvette. which I think is a little bit. More than. I. Sure. of Paid. For. It🎉 only had 41,000 miles on it well it is a 50 anniversary Corvette I don'. Thing I will ever sell. My. Corvette
Just picked up same 03 anniversary edition coupe 6 spd 42k miles for $21k and I thought I overpaid. Lol love the color and interior color. Never will sale.
"You either love the pop-up headlights or you're wrong" - so true, so very true....
🤣🤣
Well, I'm never wrong... so: I love those headlights

The used car market definitely went crazy, C5s included!

That's awesome! I recently drove a 19 C7 GS considering upgrading, but it wasn't good enough to justify the price differential
I'm looking into purchasing a c5, thanks for your comment's.Very helpful.
I have one and I love it.

My one and only complaint is the cup holder

I got lucky in 2020 bought 2002 red on red z06 with 11,800 miles for $22,000
Good find!
I love my millennium yellow convertible 2001
Great cars!
10k wow I just paid 19k for mine 60k miles manual
They've definitely gone up!

It's a head up display. Not heads
Good catch! At least I didn't say VIN Number!
their is no more cheap corvettes any more lol
COVID definitely screwed up the market, but there are some inexpensive C5 Auto cars out there still
Just picked up a 97 corvette auto 120k miles clean title for $3900. Keep checking and have patience
Low miles not under 20k dollars
I would be afraid of a low mileage car that's over 20 years old.
@@4KMotoring got the Carfax with the car
