Watch the pomp and circumstance of the Changing of the Royal Guard at Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest of the Five Grand Palaces in Seoul, South Korea. In ancient times, the royal guards of the Joseon Dynasty performed the task of guarding the entrance to the palace where the king ruled the country. Since 1469 the ceremony has taken place and the present reenactment ceremony began in 1996.
