Very Interesting,Portait is very loud & beastmode to my nose,elegant but loud.Every time I’ve smelled it on someone it filled up the room.Even the newer reformulation ,so to hear Eugene say it’s subtle is mind blowing.Also Kristo saying he doesn’t get the Rose is also mind blowing cause it’s front & center to my nose.But that’s the beauty of this hobby the different interpretations.Loved the review & passion for the brand,be blessed!
I'm wearing POAL now. Although I don't think it's a rose soliflore, I totally get the rose . To me it's a frankincense/rose with cloves and raspberry. That is pretty much what I smell and I love it.

Oh my God, this video comes at a perfect time. I've always wanted to hear about other people's thoughts on POAL and Monsieur. I also find just like Kristo that POAL gets pretty sour on my skin after a couple of minutes, but I've never been able to tell which notes have been creating this effect. I also completely agree with Eugene here when he says Monsieur is more about the "textured" patchouli, it's exactly the kind of patchouli I love, while the patchouli in POAL plays more of a supporting role to the rose and other notes.

I have some samples of POTL and I find to be a very comforting smell, but I’m not comfortable wearing out in public. I prefer to wear this going to bed. Very beautiful but leans feminine to me.

I love Portrait of a Lady but there are a few dozen fragrances I'd rather buy with my 350 bucks! I'm kind of addicted to watching you guys.
Monsieur is FANTASTiC though and could be my signature scent... I guess I love patchouli.

Im hooked in monsieur and musc ravageur, I want to try this but its much more expensive than all the others.

I am pretty happy with the 2 mentioned above and french lover but there are others id like to try before POAL like noir epices and dries notten im really interested in.

Serge Noir , for me , the opening was difficult.
DHS perfumes Châtaignes du Bois has a dirty , bit of smokey vetiver , which is very nice, then moves into
Black Tourmaline, a more approachable one, in the very far dry down.
Never understood the price of Black Tourmline . Just get a CdG .
No one mentions vetiver in Châtaignes du Bois. It's not listed in the notes.
So yes, people will not say , what's not talked about.
I was sampling a bunch of Chestnut and coffee's yesterday.
DHS perfumes Châtaignes du Bois does have the chestnut , plus a nice creamy sandalwood , beeswax to it in the opening.
I have a 10 ml of Black Tourmaline that I got for free from LuckyScent.
I've sampled Portrait of a Lady and it was nice.
Once again the hype, so when I sampled it I was like, well it's good, but .
I have Musc Ravaguer , and the clove perfumes well on my skin.
Very satisfied .
Will sample more from Fredric Malle .

This unisex not more female not more małe I think just in the middle, but some ppl say grandma or woman scent others say more masculine man 🤔, f that I wearing it today bro :)
Eugene, have you tried Slumberhouse Grev? Kind of light and refreshing, but has clove.
I get nothing but frankincense after 5ish hours from my modern bottle. One thing I never get from the note breakdown is sandalwood. Through out the perfume I get cedar or dare I say iso E super. Regardless I love wearing it and smelling it on clothes. Premiere Avenue is offering a 10% promo at the moment. I’m considering a bottle of Une Rose knowing I won’t wear it that much but it’s a real work of art.
Cody Mayberry I really wish I was able to pick up on more of that frankincense note but it’s more smoke than resin to me.
I found Portrait of the Lady to be underwhelming too. A blogger mentioned to me that the pre-reformulated version was a different beast. Maybe?
Agree Promise is a flanker of POL, but much better done! Amazing Fragrance!

Hana which is the past we use to paint our, hair, and kaafour this is the secret of that strange small not the clove as you think it a small as oriental specially from the gulf we can tall the difference easily that why I appreciate it but not love it becouse for us it's very difficult to accept this as expensive fragrance

A Not so great review, sorry guys. It was more of a quick comparison of frederic's malle fragrances.
Man heaps of frankincense off the top.. amongst the other suspects.. jumps out to me.
Phenomenal scent though. The hype is well warranted here.

Portrait is a great creation but the fact that everyone seems to have it in fragcom may make it less interesting (it does to me) but I am yet to see a "bro" wearing sth like POAL in real life, I put it in the same bracket as Tuscan Leather and Coromandel. They are so original and masterfully done but still appealing to most ppl. And man do the top leathers video and make it hour+ long
