  • If you want soft ends on your dreads, and the tails keep getting sucked up into the dreads, this is how you comb them out! Adding conditioner helps too.

    I'm about to blunt all my ends. They're 10 years old and I'm having too much breakage.

      Generally, in older Dreads, breakage is caused from weak spots that happened during different growth, phases, or maintenance phases. The way they were started, if there was any interlocking, if there wasn't a lot of back combing done, if they were made too hard too fast, blah blah blah… Those can all create weak spots. Maybe that's what your breakage is from?

      I can't think of any negative aspects of blunted ends. I love them. Some people say it's more manicured or masculine looking. I think it's finished looking. It's a matter of taste. No functional benefits to having loose ends tho.
