Hi Cyagen I have a quick question: how are we putting an antibiotic resistance gene into a eukaryotic cell? The stem cells from the blastocyst are from a eukaryotic organism.. so I'd assume that antibiotics wouldn't be able to kill these cells anyways? Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding something. Thanks!!

Explained 100x better than my professor! Awesome video.
Thanks, we are happy it helped better explain knockout mice for you!☺
Perfect explanation
I saw something earlier about fat-prone mice and thin-prone mice and hairy-prone mice and bald-prone mice being created.
quick and easy explanation, thanks.
you are so good brother. thank you
Thank you ! very helpful and informative
Thank you very much! ❤️

I was actually wondering the same thing, why do we add neomycin, if eukaryotic cells don’t get affected by antibiotics.
Is there anyone here who can explain to me why do we always obtain heterozygous cells after homologous recombination?
Bcos AA *aa =Aa crossing over
If we do PCR of all ESC, how are we left with cells to be implanted in the new mice blastocyst?
Typically, one or more subcultures of cells can be made for analysis and selection of the correctly modified cells.

Very helpful. Thanks
Pls send notes of this

thank you!
Thats helpful.
Just wondering, are there technologies or drugs that can knock out Genes by simply giving oral drugs while being pregnant?
Nobody:
Pfizer: "Let's knock out humanity!" :D
Yeah, after I got the vaccine I stopped existing.
@@lucasjones3338 You will never have children.
@@Name-zd5fq pretty sure thousands of vaccinated people have already had children lol
@@KlearChristal LOL...let's see how long you'll laugh. :D
