I was going to rant a bit About Amina (France) and my girls Chiara and Ira Losco, but then I realised I now have a new favourite runner up: Beautiful Mess (Kristian Kostov) is a song which just gets me. I'd gone off Eurovision at the time, but I heard it again last year and it's really beautiful. There's also a version using traditional Chinese instruments and it fits so well!
geminix365 yes the pas 3 years it's been yes 2016-3rd place was my winner only time I agree with odds since i've i started watching it in 2011 of who the winner should have been. Except from 2015 i didn't really have a favourite that year but i'm glad it won and it is my fav of 2015 now looking at my other favs. My top 3: 1) Russia 2) Poland 3) Sweden 2017-3rd place was one of my favourites but not my favourite. It was near tough. My top 3: 1) France 2) Moldova 3) Cyprus 2018-3rd was in my top 10 but i was only giving it 2-4 points but after it was live it moved up higher. I wasn't expecting Austria to do well but i'm happy they did. My top 3: 1) Czech Republic 2) Denmark 3) Switzerland
The three runner-ups that totally deserved to win (in chronological order): - Israel 1983 - Ofra Haza (R.I.P.) - France 1991 - Amina - Cyprus 2018 - Eleni Foureira
Mocedades is a group that all my family know them for my grandmother, they were very popular here in Peru. "Eres tú" and "Sanomi" are my favourites runner-up. I also like "Never let you go", "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" and "We could be the same"
Do one for the last places as well ;) ALOT of them and ESPECIALLY PORTUGAL THIS YEAR were sooooo UNDERRATED, but then their are also the hilarious acts like jan teigen and ofcourse my fav MOUSTACHE!!!😂😂😂😂
i was just about to say this! watching matt commenting the last places would be so fun! :) many of them are my faves, but the worst one without any doubt was switzerland 2004 and that disastrous celebrate xD
moustache was my favourite song from 2014 back then and still is one of my favs of that year because during that week of eurovision i couldn't stop singing the song. It definitely didn't deserve last but they lost proverly did because of the vocals.
The Swedish female singer of 1966 that you thought was so creepy is Lill Lindfors who later hosted eurovision 1985 in Gotherburg and "dropped" her skirt on stage, and then it turned out to just be a part of the act. She was also hilarious.
The singers of the 1959 song "Sing little birdie" look so genuinely fascinated by the singing bird. I see them and I think "I don't have the heart to tell them that it is perfectly normal for birds to sing".
Great résumé of all the runners-up... I usually violently disagree with these types of videos, but I thought you were very fair! I would've replaced the winners of 59, 66, 68, 70, 75, 83, 93, 94, 96, 98, 99, 01, 02, 07, 08 and 18 with the second-place finishers, personally, but that's life.
It's been over 3 years since this video was released and now we can say the UK has sent a great entry and secured our record 16th runner-up medal and who knows Manchester 2023 could be the UKs record 9th hosting gig should Ukraine be unfortunately unable to host themselves
So many good songs. The stand out second place getters that should have won are Iceland’s Is it True (beating Fairytale) and Cyprus’ Fuego (beating Toy).
The Shadows (UK 1975) were already a big name back in the day. They had many hits in the early 60s with instrumental songs like "Apache", "F.B.I." and "Wonderful Land".
The Eurovision Song Contest website now shows the 13 songs other than "Refrain" as joint second in the ESC 1956, but it's unlikely that could have happened. Until the ESC website started showing them as 2nd, they were officially "Unplaced". It's not known which particular song finished 2nd, 3rd, etc. that year.
Ofra Haza had a hit in the UK with In Min Aloo and guested on the Sisters of Mercy song Temple of Love. She did pretty well for herself and agreed she's awesome.
Isn't it amazing that Katja Ebstein took part three times and ended up always in the top 3? I like her first try most with that memorable fanfare in the song - exceptional composing idea- and her outstanding outfit that year, spacey.
Lindon ESC You mean Wunder Gibt Es Immer Wieder? Yes, that’s my favorite Katja Ebstein entry too, it’s such a great song! Please, explain to me the fanfare... Her outfit was spacey and suited the big silver balloons in the background.
Joylibelle thank you, yes, I mean that song. Unfortunately I can not comment on the fanfare, although I have tried to find out how this composition idea came about. It always baffles me when I hear the song. It seems so randomly placed. In the course of my research, I learned that Katja Ebstein was so nervous during the performance that she forgot to smile. It is also said that the ESC's Dutch organization treated the German team badly and that someone had said to Katja Ebstein that she was not welcome as a German. No idea if that is true.
Lindon ESC I don’t know if that’s true either. It would be utterly ridiculous if someone from the organisation said that to her, wouldn’t it? What I do know is that the Dutch conductor of the Dutch Metropole orchestra was a very, very nice man, and I guess that for artists, working together with the orchestra is the main and most important thing. A photograph in an old 1970 local newspaper, showed Katja together with Mary Hopkins (UK) and they looked very relaxed and happy. Katja’s song has a wonderful, musical arrangement with sounds of an organ, of violins and brass which makes the song sound impressively powerful, that suit the lyrics of hope.
It's entirely possible, though. Hell, it was 1970, the Dutch were still absolutely hating Germany back then. When Nicole won it was special above all because even Israel gave Germany 12 points. It basically showed that the world had started to forgive Germany for WWII.
1956: jk 1957: I didn't know this one yet. It doesn't sound bad but pretty forgettable 1958: A really cute song (better than the actual winner that year) 1959: I love how cute and creative this one is 1960: Great entry, would've been a good winner 1961: Not bad, kinda cute, but a bit forgettable. I'm sorry for the Brits for missing out on their first victory 3 years in a row 1962: Alright 1963: Pretty good 1964: Good 1965: Really good too, but Luxembourg deserved their victory 1966: Interesting performance, the song... not so much (but it's not bad) 1967: Sounds great 1968: Iconic song and I guess it should've won instead of Spain (even though La La La is a guilty pleasure for me) 1969 (Switzerland): Really good 1970: Cute, not bad 1971: Great song! 1972: Great, would've been a really nice winner 1973: It's a pretty good song 1974: LOVE IT! This would've been a much better winner (don't kill me) 1975: Pretty good 1976: Cute and enjoyable 1977: YES! Such a good song, but France was a great winner 1978: Good song, I'm not mad at Jordan tv for pretending this won instead of Israel (kidding, I love the actual winner even more) 1979: Really good, I prefer Su Canción over Tu Canción 1980: Love it! Great song (no bias) 1981: Another great song from my home country. Deserved! 1982: Great song! 1983: LOOOVE! Such a great entry 1984: Alright, meh 1985: I really like this one (your parents had a great taste in music) 1986: Good 1987: I like this one, it's enjoyable 1988: Pretty good but I prefer the winner 1989: Meh indeed 1990 (France): Great song! She has the same birthday as me 1990 (Ireland): Nice song, but France is better 1991: Beautiful song! Sweden deserved their victory but this one is great too 1992: Meh 1993: It's a good song but Ireland definitely deserved that victory 1994: Amazing song, should've won 1995: Great vocals but I don't love it as much as most people do (deserved 2nd place anyway) 1996: Beautiful! I love both Norway and Ireland that year but I think I prefer Norway 1997: Pretty good 1998: I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH! My shared winner that year with Finland 1999: Really catchy, much better than the actual winner 2000: Great song! It was a really good year overall. Estonia, Latvia and Russia are all better than Denmark imo (sorry) 2001: LOVE it! Denmark should've won one year later instead 2002: Really good and enjoyable. Better than Latvia! 2003: Awesome song! I love Turkey too 2004: Masterpiece! My winner that year, such a beautiful entry that made Balkan ballads popular. Zeljko is a genius 2005: It's good, definitely my favourite out of her three attempts 2006: I prefer Believe, but this song isn't bad either 2007: Iconic, but Serbia deserved their victory 2008: I prefer Russia but this song is pretty catchy and the staging is awesome 2009: Great song! Better than Fairytale tbh 2010: MASTERPIECE! My winner that year, even though I'm German (we should've won in 2011 tho) 2011: Such a beautiful song! I love it. Great comeback 2012: It's cute and fun, but overrated. Of course I'm happy for them 2013: Good song but 2nd is pretty overrated 2014: Beautiful song. It should've won! 2015: Much better than Sweden, I was so sad for her when these disrespectful "fans" booed her because she's Russian. And I thought our fandom was tolerant, welcoming and not racist. Sad. 2015 was a great year and I think Russia and (especially) Italy, Belgium and Latvia would've all been great winners 2016: Amazing vocals but I really dislike the song 2017: It's a pretty nice entry but I don't love it 2018: Let's just say this song really isn't for me. It was almost in my bottom 5 this year (prepares for hate comments)
1964 actually it was the Danish broadcaster DR (Danmarks Radio) who decided to delete the tapes with contest from 1964. Which is the same reason why there is no tapes with the Danish preselection from 1957 until 1966.
Matt you talk everytime the old "Chansonthing"! But the Eurovision was called "Eurovision de la chanson". So you can hear 90% chansons at this time. Today there is only 1-2%....with luck! Sometimes i miss the old days but it doesnt stop me to be a fan of this grazy challenge!
Some of my favourite runner ups, Bulgaria in 2017, that one was my favourite. So young and such a wonderful voice and song, Belgium in 2003, I don't care that the language was made up, it sounded wonderful and I love the style. Iceland in 2009, should have competed in another year.
My top 10 runner-ups 1. Iceland 2009 "Is it true" Yohanna (WHAT A MASTERPIECE!! MY FAVOURITE ESC SONG!! MY WINNER) 2. Malta 2005 (Chiara is a legend!!!! She should have won by far!!! That comes from a Greek ;)!!) 3. Malta 2002 (Ira Losco was amazing. So cute. She should have won!!!) 4. The Netherlands 2014 (It was perfect!!!! Way better that the winner) 5. Iceland 1999 (Selma deserved it badly. She was way better than the winner) 6. Solo (What an amazing!!!!! Alsou was my winner. Just perfect!!!!!) 7. S&M 2004 (Zeljko was amazing. It was definitely the best) 8. The UK 1997 (Rock Bottom!!!!! They were very good. They deserved to win) 9. Ireland 1984 (Not better than why me, but still better than this Swedish enter) 10. Ireland 1990 (How much I love ballads???? What a masterpiece!!!!) PS My least favorite runner-up is Bulgaria 2017.
I love Massiel España 1968. I am sorry.....🤞 The winner is Massiel, no Cliff Richard, I am sorry....Sir, Salomé 69 👇. Karina and Mocedades, bravo! 🤞. From Spain.
Cliff Richard is the only song still played frequently by the winner and him. I tend to think that the rumours about the contest being fixed that year must be true.
Very good job Matt once again. I hate it when you seem to like everything and all and most of all I hate it when we disagree [but we mainly agree (Estonia 2001, really????? :PPPPP)].
2nd faves that should have won IMHO: 1963, 1968, 1973, 1991 and 1996 ( Bettan's I evighet ( for eternity) was ethereal and magical and she is Norway's and Sweden's pride and joy). 2nd place faves that are as good as the first place: 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1976, 1979 ( yes L'm a child of the 70's!), 1988 ( what drama in that performance!), 1998, 2014, and this year! Here is a suggestion: maybe a recap of artisits who have performed more than once at ESC . Good examples are Udo Jurgens, 'Bettan', Katja Epstein, and Peter, Sue and Marc.
"Sounds like soft core porno music to me"😂 Spat my cappuccino everywhere Not often I disagree with you, but there is no way 'Better the devil you know' beats 'In your eyes', that is crazy talk Matt😊 I miss the orchestra's, they just added an air of class to the whole thing
I personally prefer Better the Devil you Know too. I was rather disgusted by Malta’s voting. BTDYK is a fun song, the orchestration is amazing but the best thing has to be Sonia’s performance. I used to loathe In Your Eyes, though I have really grown to it. As of now, Ireland is in my 5th place of 1993 and the United Kingdom in 2nd (Switzerland is my winner of 1993). I say this, but Better the Devil you Know is one of my favourite songs from the ESC. Though I do agree that I miss the orchestra!
I prefer the French runner up in 1990. I agree with you about Sonia. I wish Iceland had won in 1999. Hard disagree on 2004 but hard agree on 2005. I love Verka but I'm glad she didn't win....Shady Lady on the other hand. Hard disagree on 2013.
In 1957, 1958, 1959, (in 1960 winner and runner up were equally good), 1961, 1962, 1963, 1966, 1968, (In 1970 UK and Ireland were equally good), 1971, (in 1974 Italy and Sweden were equally good), 1975, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1989, 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 were the runner ups better then the winner
My faves: Switzerland 🇨🇭 1958 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1959 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1960 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1968 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1970 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1972 Germany 🇩🇪 1980 Germany 🇩🇪 1981 Germany 🇩🇪 1985 Germany 🇩🇪 1987 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1988 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1992 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 1993 Russia 🇷🇺 2000 Malta 🇲🇹 2002 Serbia & Montenegro 🇷🇸🇲🇪 2004 Ukraine 🇺🇦 2007 Ukraine 🇺🇦 2008 Iceland 🇮🇸 2009 Turkey 🇹🇷 2010 Russia 🇷🇺 2012 Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 2013 Netherlands 🇳🇱 2014 Cyprus 🇨🇾 2018 Only because these are my faves out of all the 2nd places doesn't mean I prefer them all over the 1st place that year😉
Though from what I understand it is still dispute if the 1968 voting controversy conspiaracy was real or not since it is mostly rumors. .www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2008/05/05/television/1210021065.html

In 1977 that was the late great Ronnie Hazlehurst conducting the orchestra with an umbrella! He wrote many memorable TV themes here in the UK.
I was going to rant a bit About Amina (France) and my girls Chiara and Ira Losco, but then I realised I now have a new favourite runner up: Beautiful Mess (Kristian Kostov) is a song which just gets me. yes, Edyta tried to come back in 2016 and finished 3 rd in National Selection
70's are just soooo amazing!Almost all winners and runners-up are fantastic songs... Best decade of Eurovision...
You should meke and for 3rd placers😂
I will :)
Better than the winners
geminix365 yes the pas 3 years it's been yes
2016-3rd place was my winner only time I agree with odds since i've i started watching it in 2011 of who the winner should have been. Except from 2015 i didn't really have a favourite that year but i'm glad it won and it is my fav of 2015 now looking at my other favs.

My top 3:
1) France
2) Moldova

2018-3rd was in my top 10 but i was only giving it 2-4 points but after it was live it moved up higher. I wasn't expecting Austria to do well but i'm happy they did.
My top 3:
1) Czech Republic
2) Denmark
3) Switzerland
@@ESCunited When are you gonna do that?
The three runner-ups that totally deserved to win (in chronological order):
- Israel 1983 - Ofra Haza (R.I.P.)
- France 1991 - Amina
- Cyprus 2018 - Eleni Foureira
Add 1968 and 1977 and 1982
Mocedades is a group that all my family know them for my grandmother, they were very popular here in Peru.
many of them are my faves, but the worst one without any doubt was switzerland 2004 and that disastrous celebrate xD
moustache was my favourite song from 2014 back then and still is one of my favs of that year because during that week of eurovision i couldn't stop singing the song. It definitely didn't deserve last but they lost proverly did because of the vocals.

Matt Munroe was a huge name in the UK and he sang the theme tune to From Russia With Love. More sort of Britain's Bing Crosby but a great voice.
It is funny that Nel blu dipinto di blu by Modugno wasn't even a runner up
The singers of the 1959 song "Sing little birdie" look so genuinely fascinated by the singing bird. I see them and I think "I don't have the heart to tell them that it is perfectly normal for birds to sing".
Another great analysis from ESCunited - thank you! :)
My personal favorites:
France 1991
Norway 1996
Iceland 2009
Belgium 2003
I think It would be interesting to know your opinion about the last places haha
Great résumé of all the runners-up... I usually violently disagree with these types of videos, but I thought you were very fair!
I would've replaced the winners of 59, 66, 68, 70, 75, 83, 93, 94, 96, 98, 99, 01, 02, 07, 08 and 18 with the second-place finishers, personally, but that's life.
Completely agree to me! 👍
It's been over 3 years since this video was released and now we can say the UK has sent a great entry and secured our record 16th runner-up medal and who knows Manchester 2023 could be the UKs record 9th hosting gig should Ukraine be unfortunately unable to host themselves
UK is long overdue for another second place finish.
All entries other than 'Refrain' is 2nd place, so you should react to all of them
The Eurovision Song Contest website now shows the 13 songs other than "Refrain" as joint second in the ESC 1956, but it's unlikely that could have happened.
8:50 R.I.P ofra haza😔😔😔 she died in 2000
Beautifull, Battiato & Alice, Cliff Richard(The Two), Mary Hopkins, Il Volo, Shadows, Alllisons, Imany, Katja Ebstein, Lena Valentis, Johanna, Chiara, Isabelle Aubret, 1968, Gigliola, Si, Common Linnets......
Well, the runner ups are quite good. Like your reactions! My favourites from each decade: 1959, 1961, 1972, 1985, 1996, 2009 and 2014.
16:07 "Iceland you should send songs like that next year"
Iceland: Ok we'll do the opposite,Send Hatari😂😂😂😂
I really like all of the 50s to 70s UK runners up and Manga.
My favorite runner-up is of course Edyta Górniak because I'm from Poland and I just love this song :D
Kokolop 02 Michał był był lepszy
The Cavca ale skoro nie zajął drugirgo miejsca to wybrałem Edytę
Kokolop 02 zajął drugie miejsce w moim sercu
Justs był obrabowany
No to me, just screming like a siren!
Isn't it amazing that Katja Ebstein took part three times and ended up always in the top 3? I like her first try most with that memorable fanfare in the song - exceptional composing idea- and her outstanding outfit that year, spacey.
Though what I consider Germany's most memorable entry ever didn't even make top 3. Still consider this a great injustice.
Lindon ESC You mean Wunder Gibt Es Immer Wieder? Yes, that’s my favorite Katja Ebstein entry too, it’s such a great song! Please, explain to me the fanfare... Her outfit was spacey and suited the big silver balloons in the background.

How many second places do you want?
UK: *Y e s*
React to the last places. This would be really funny :)
Uk are still 16 time 2n d place
Calm after the storm is my favourite ❤️ Cyprus was absolutely robbed this year, should have won over that idiotic chicken song

2008: I prefer Russia but this song is pretty catchy and the staging is awesome
2009: Great song! Better than Fairytale tbh
2010: MASTERPIECE! My winner that year, even though I'm German (we should've won in 2011 tho)
2011: Such a beautiful song! I love it. Great comeback
2012: It's cute and fun, but overrated. Of course I'm happy for them
2013: Good song but 2nd is pretty overrated
2014: Beautiful song. It should've won!
2015: Much better than Sweden, I was so sad for her when these disrespectful "fans" booed her because she's Russian. And I thought our fandom was tolerant, welcoming and not racist. Sad. 2015 was a great year and I think Russia and (especially) Italy, Belgium and Latvia would've all been great winners
2016: Amazing vocals but I really dislike the song
2017: It's a pretty nice entry but I don't love it
2018: Let's just say this song really isn't for me. It was almost in my bottom 5 this year (prepares for hate comments)
kjESCil i agree with 2018
Agree with 2010
@@carolinechristensen8287 the lyrics were really bad.. yes, she is good looking and yws, it is an upbeat sommer party song, but still the lyrics.
My favourite is still Iceland 2009. I love this song.
1964 actually it was the Danish broadcaster DR (Danmarks Radio) who decided to delete the tapes with contest from 1964. Which is the same reason why there is no tapes with the Danish preselection from 1957 until 1966.
Great vid! ❤️
I think Bulgaria should have won in 2017
Kris is the best 😃
Or rather in 2018 if not Cyprus.
NO
Ofra Haze died in 2000 from compications of aids :(
17:31 same 😂😂
I think you should listen once again to Switzerland 1963, this is a masterpiece
Some of my favourite runner ups, Bulgaria in 2017, that one was my favourite. So young and such a wonderful voice and song, Belgium in 2003, I don't care that the language was made up, it sounded wonderful and I love the style. Iceland in 2009, should have competed in another year.
Fun fact: Eres Tu made the Billboard Hot 100, actually peaking at Number 9 in 1974!
1988 "Go" Scott Fitzgerald 😊❤👍
I Agree with you.
I was a bit confused when you said fans don't like Verka. From what I see everywhere it's the opposite - it's one of the fan favourites
My top 10 runner-ups
1. Iceland 2009 "Is it true" Yohanna (WHAT A MASTERPIECE!! MY FAVOURITE ESC SONG!! MY WINNER)
2. Malta 2005 (Chiara is a legend!!!! She should have won by far!!! That comes from a Greek ;)!!)
3. Malta 2002 (Ira Losco was amazing. So cute. She should have won!!!)
4. The Netherlands 2014 (It was perfect!!!! Way better that the winner)
5. Iceland 1999 (Selma deserved it badly. She was way better than the winner)
6. Solo (What an amazing!!!!! Alsou was my winner. Just perfect!!!!!)
7. S&M 2004 (Zeljko was amazing. It was definitely the best)
8. The UK 1997 (Rock Bottom!!!!! They were very good. They deserved to win)
9. Ireland 1984 (Not better than why me, but still better than this Swedish enter)
10. Ireland 1990 (How much I love ballads???? What a masterpiece!!!!)
PS My least favorite runner-up is Bulgaria 2017.
Matt's telling Iceland to find themselves with another beautiful ballad with a dreamy staging. Well, and now we have Hatari. Isn't that hilarious
Fuego
Dami should have won. 1944 was an nteresting song, but Dami slayyyyyed.
Maybe reaction for Junior Eurovision winners? That would be so adorable
You should make 3rd, 4th and 5th places aswell
Except for your comment about Magna vs Lena, I agree 100% with everything you are saying 😃😃😃. Hello soul brother from another mother.
AND IT BEATS TO THE SOUND OF SILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCE
Matt you should do react to every eurovision winner
I love Massiel España 1968. I am sorry.....🤞 The winner is Massiel, no Cliff Richard, I am sorry....Sir, Salomé 69 👇. Karina and Mocedades, bravo! 🤞. From Spain.
Thank you Matt for reacting to all the runner- ups. In 2004 Lane Moje should have won
Cliff Richard is the only song still played frequently by the winner and him. I tend to think that the rumours about the contest being fixed that year must be true.
I thought that Mouth and MacNeal with i see a star was at the second place in 1974 🤣 but apparently they got third
15 for the United Kingdom. We’re good at being 2nd
Kieran Park Very great seconds indeed. But ‘Go’ by Scott should have won.
Very good job Matt once again. I hate it when you seem to like everything and all and most of all I hate it when we disagree [but we mainly agree (Estonia 2001, really????? :PPPPP)].
You need to sned this icland
HATRI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
16:10 LOL
Lots of great 2nd places but also lots of forgettable ones. This decade I like the 3rd places a lot more than the 2nd places.
I guess Eurovision means alot to you? It's nice to see an american who likes Eurovision.
He's actually German.
He just lives in the USA
2007 and 2012 yessss
Technically according to that book Walter Andreas Schwartz did finish 2nd in 1956.
Come on, Matt, you need to get up on that Eurovision stage and sing for your country! :)
He's american.
Good things for you sometimes are usually english songs. You tend to underestimate old songs in french wich are fantastic :-(
i really hope he should react to last places~ xD
Don't worry Matt, I also liked the UK song in 1988 better :D
We all missing Ofra...since she died in the 90's
"Sounds like soft core porno music to me"😂 Spat my cappuccino everywhere
Not often I disagree with you, but there is no way 'Better the devil you know' beats 'In your eyes', that is crazy talk Matt😊
I miss the orchestra's, they just added an air of class to the whole thing
Sorreeeee, In your eyes just never clicked with me. But yes, I miss the full sound of an orchestra as well.
Still mad that Manga didn’t win in 2010. SO MAD! :(
Polina and Eleni are the best imo
17:00 The real winner right there
I prefer Rullo & King, Zeljko, Manga, Farid, The Common Linnet, Polina and of course Eleni over the actual winner of each year.
Just my preference.
Edyta Gorniak.
Common Linnets is musically the best 2nd place ever. Better than 98% of the winners.
14:24 Is the girl on the right Chanee from Chanee and N'Evergreen (Denmark 2010)
I continue to Farid's "Hold Me".

Turkey 🇹🇷 2010
Russia 🇷🇺 2012
Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 2013
Netherlands 🇳🇱 2014
Cyprus 🇨🇾 2018
Only because these are my faves out of all the 2nd places doesn't mean I prefer them all over the 1st place that year😉
You should do one of last places!!
In 1999 Croatia deserved to win and in 1998 they deserved 2. place!
Did you know that Teddy and Bryan are brothers
think the correct plural Matt is "Runners-up".. Like " mothers in law" and not "mother in laws."
Tricky point of English, I know!
1980 GErmany: those were not clowns; those were pantomine artists..
The best runner up is Imaani - Where Are You
1988, 1989, 1995, 2000, 2006, 2008, BEST 2012, 2013,
Though from what I understand it is still dispute if the 1968 voting controversy conspiaracy was real or not since it is mostly rumors.

Spain songs
1979: Su canción
2018: Tu canción
LOL
Also screw you
