  • In today's home vlog we try some of the allergy friendly treats and candy from our last trip to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney's Magic Kingdom! The treats were mostly really delicious. We definitely didn't expect there to be so many allergy friendly choices, we think it's awesome that they offer so many choices for different allergies. We also take Bandit to the vet for his annual exam and general check up. He's doing so good!! He's gained all of his weight back from when he was sick last year. We're so happy with his progress! We talk a little bit about ASMR, we got some questions about it from the Skyliner vlog lol. Then we work on the baby's nursery and put some of the finishing touches on it. We're pretty much done now so the next time we talk about it, we'll be doing the full tour! We can't wait to show you everything! Then we have a little pumpkin update, they're almost all rotten now, but the witch pumpkin is still going strong though! And we end the night with dinner at our friend's house, we didn't show any of it but we did talk about the vegan foods we tried. They were super good! We also have a little baby book haul, Jim and Nicole helped us start the baby's library for his nursery. We loved the books and can't wait to start reading them to him. We hope you enjoyed this relaxing home vlog. Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

I like Sandra Boynton books. Especially “Barnyard Dance”, “My oh, my oh, Dinosaurs”, and “Hippos Go Berserk”. Also P. D. Eastman’s “Are you my mother?” and “I’ll teach my dog a lot of words”.

Goodnight Moon - this book is a must! I remember my dad reading this to us so we created the tradition with our daughters. They are now 28 & 26. Still no grandchildren to share this with but we give it to all the little babies in our lives. They sell it in a tiny board book so little hands can hold it. It is about a little bunny getting ready for bed. It is a fun story for you and your little baby to share in the poetry of the words. Still to this day my daughters and I can repeat the lines together. Super Super Sweet!

    Anything by Eric Carle:
“Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?” was my oldest sons favorite. He would cry when I would get to the end because he knew it was done. I had to read it several times. There are more to the series like; “Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What do you see?” and “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you hear?” Carle also has a book called “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”

My daughter has been in speech therapy for the past 5mo. Brown Bear Brown Bear was the first book she read back with us and then to us. Also Snuggle Puppy was a book we read for a long time. She finally started reading it back to us, and was the book she finally repeated “I love you”. It was pure magic to hear those words come out of her mouth! “I Love You, Stinky Face”
    “Little Blue Truck”
    “Little Pea”
All are so much fun to read for the parent and perennial favorites for Teddy.
We also love Karma Wilson’s “Bear” books, which are brilliantly written rhythmic poetry stories, and *everything* by Ben Clanton.

Books are so fun!! Don't forget about heading to your local library for storytimes and book check outs when the little guy gets a smidge older! Anyway our favorites are, 'My Truck is Stuck', Click Clack Moo, Good Night Steam Train, Give a Mouse a Cookie, The Little Engine that Could, just to name a few. Also, check into the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and see if your area is a part of this program. If it is, your little guy will get a book every month from birth to 5. Again, your local library should know more!

Baby Beluga by Raffe is a favorite for my classroom to read/sing. Also baby sign language is very helpful to teach the baby. It helps with the baby's frustration when they are trying to communicate. Congratulations again!

For baby books: "Goodnight Moon" and "Pat the Bunny" were my favorites. Pat the Bunny is especially great because it's a 'touch and feel' book, meaning it has little interactive pages with different fabrics on each page. Great for newborns - toddlers.

The reason it specifies ancient grains is because those of us with allergies or intolerances to modern grains (which are generally genetically modified) can generally tolerate ancient grains as they tend to be easier on the digestive tract 🤷‍♀️
