@@TheLookyus. Your welcome.
Cool
I was hoping to have an uneventful Easter, especially having a ham and mashed potatoes feast at my parents' house, but unfortunately, fate had plans for otherwise. Well, the Tuesday before Easter, my mom and I had gone to see Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in the movie theater (my first time setting foot in a movie theater since the pandemic hit), and later when I got home that afternoon, I had fallen ill with a stomach flu...I know since I had barfed at 3:00 or 4:00 AM, and threw up later that morning 20 minutes after watching vintage cartoons on MeTV (they're shown in an hour long show called "Toon In with Me"). As a result, all I wanted to do was lie in bed, sleep, and didn't have an appetite...I was drinking a lot of fluids (Coca-Cola (yes, Coca-Cola *does* help with a stomach bug), ginger ale, and Pedialyte. Yeah, I'm surprised grownups can drink Pedialyte when they don't feel good, even though it's intended for kids), and couldn't play a lot of video games, meaning after playing an hour or two of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and then terminating the game so I could rest my head. My appetite slowly came back Thursday morning, as while I was checking my emails, my tummy was rumbling (I need food...BADLY!), so I ate chicken noodle soup with oyster crackers, but not the entire bowl as I didn't want to overdo the soup. Then both of my folks had COVID, my dad getting it the Friday before Easter, and my mom getting it the Monday AFTER Easter (AUGH!). Even as I write this, my parents are back in the groove after being cooped up, along with yours truly. What did Tommy decorate on his Easter eggs btw? -Andrea
Wow sorry you had such a rough time! Glad you’re better!!! Tell me decorated the eggs with Crayola magic markers, it was that simple! So nice to hear from you and again so glad you’re feeling better now, take care!
Oh I forgot happy easter!
Has Tommy ever considered getting a house or apartment of his own? Has he ever considered getting either a full or part-time job? Does he drive? If not, Has he ever expressed any interest in doing so?
Hi Leanne, These are great questions! We have always followed Tommy's lead, ever since he was a small child. And so we always provide as many opportunities as we can, while trying to provide him with the best ways to communicate his feelings, and keep in mind that we need to always allow him to show us what he needs, and what he wishes, and then we try to creatively find ways to make his dreams and wishes happen! Having said that, so far, Tommy is happy living at home for the time being. Tommy loves to be with people- loves his family, and has always made it clear that he is happy for now living at home. Other options in supported living may be something we explore at some point, but not for now. As far as work- his training as a runner, skier, paddler, etc have truly been a full time job for many years, as well as his public speaking invitations! Tommy enjoyed many job placements while in high school in an Autism program here in Ottawa, but none of those placements led to a job after high school. But since his running career takes up so much of his time, he has not had time to think about finding a job yet, but maybe later! Driving is not something Tommy has ever expressed an interest in, and for many reasons in terms of safety, is not something that currently is an option. Basically, Tommy lives with one to one support in all his activities of daily living, for personal safety reasons, and his Autism Assistance Support Dog Tyrone works with him to also support his many safety needs. I hope this helps answer your questions! Feel free to ask if you have more questions! - MaryAnn, Tommy's mom
@@lookyus hi, I am also on the Autism Spectrum, but my verbal communication and cognitive skills are within normal or near normal limits, and my IQ is within the normal or near normal range as far as I know.
My parents have talked to me about getting an apartment, but I have been looking at jobs, and the companies I have been looking at will not say where they are going to place me (or even let me choose where I'm going to be) before I'm hired. IF I am hired. This means that I could be working just a few minutes up the road, or I could be working several hours away. My commute to work could mean a 1/2 an hour car ride to these companies' only location in my area, or a 5 hour flight to a location on the other end of the country.
I have been interested in driving, and my parents have talked to me about it. However, the only issues for me are with spatial awareness, but this can easily be worked around. Another issue is if I were to get into an accident, and the other driver was neurotypical, I would likely be accused of causing the accident, even if the neurotypical driver was at fault, because I am on the spectrum. Also, knowing when rules don't need to be followed is much harder for me than it is for most people. And with the way I have seen many drivers drive, I feel that this is an accident waiting to happen. Sadly, many drivers here in the US think they are the best drivers on the road, simply because they were able to pass their road test, and receive their license.
Today Is My Birthday
Are there any more videos from you guys?
There will be!
@@lookyus Thanks
Happy easter what happened to Adele
😥😥😥 On Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, Adel my third Autism Assistance Dog Guide Female purebred Black Labrador Retriever died with spleen cancer on a comfy blanket at the Bridlewood Animal Hospital at 7:00 pm. The vet’s didn’t give her any medicine. She didn’t need any medicine. She is with them now. We were there with her and she was calm and relaxed.
@@TheLookyus awww I am so sorry to hear that Adele was really cute though
Thanks ❤️ we miss her
Did you have a Happy Easter, Prince Tommy?
