He used to be in the bookies shortly before k.o.at home games.Lol.Still was amazing on the pitch that day.Pure talent. His own man.Did it his way.Its usually the mavericks with problems that are the crowd pleasers.Nice one stan.
What a brilliant player was stan bowles not so munch for us but brilliant player for qpr but i was big fan of him and all the greats in the 1970s like others charlie george tony currie so many good english footballers back then thanks bernard great vlog as usual
That was really interesting I never knew Stan scored 4 goals in two games on his debut. What City lost QPR gained and yes his temperament would get him into a pickle, but Stan the man had talent and he didplayed it brilliantly for QPR.
name just mentioned there earlier in the Blog , "Tony Coleman" wow loved him as a player at City, but he then got transferred to our enemies across the city (Sheffield Wednesday), another name not mentioned, a Sheffield lad called Freddie Hill who played for city after being transferred from Bolton,
Hiya Bernard, you are probably right mate, Freddie used to go to School with my older brother in Sheffield, Our Kid should have gone for trials the same day with Freddie But went fishing instead, as the story goes. LOL. Freds Aunt lived opposite mi mum & I would see him there occasionally. Seen him one Night as a sub at Bramall lane. Always had a soft spot for City as they were always playing second fiddle to Man Utd.Bit Like us & the Pigs (Wednesday), not that the Blades are in the same Class as City that is for sure. Go get that League again Bernard this year Pal. All the Best. By the way Tony Coleman, another Maverick of the day @@Bernard_Dinneen

He has even a stand at QPR after his name.
Thank you, he did and honoured there after a long wait with the stand naming, well deserved.

is it true that Sir Alf once said 'if stan would have been able to pass a betting shop like he does from midfield he would have had 50 caps'?
don't doubt it lol
