We have a group called Needles and Natter for our local community and its great- a lot of natter and some needles!!! No pressure to do any sewing knitting embroidery etc and it’s great.
Okay, that magnetic tool from Harbor Freight is awesome. I do have the magnetic small parts tray that I use to hold my pins and when I need to I will bend down a hover the tray over the floor in my work area but that's painful for me because I have back issues that make life challenging enough. That tool would make my life so much easier. THANK YOU!!
I have one and it is fantastic. I use my parts dish to pick up pins that are scattered on my table. I even painted it to match my room. They have the best sewing stuff for cheap. Hard to believe I used to get impatient when my late husband wanted to browse for hours in there.
Thanks to you and Michelle for hosting on Saturday. I had a lovely time... next time I'll actually bring some sewing with me! Hanging out with fellow garment sewers is always fun... and sadly all too rare. Thanks, too, for the WAWAK review. I see them all the time but have never ordered from them. The nativity scene is adorable and the sheep you were working at are perfect in that fabric.
Love your cute striped outfit, darling look on you! What fun for your daughter and you to renovate and redesign her floor plan!! We did that very same project in Dayton with our daughter, after she purchased an 1896 house. It took many long weekends over the course of a few years to upgrade the kitchen and baths, as well as redesigning the second floor to include a "new" master suite. Fortunately, the house sold for a price we never dreamed of, which then allowed she and her husband to pay for his physical therapy school loan!! All that work two decades ago, while she was a young single, was so worthwhile, never mind all the joy we experienced helping her!💯 Enjoy this next week and all that your summer holds. Then come back safely for all of us to reconnect again! Many hugs!💖
Very cute striped outfit. It looks comfortable too. When you held up your rotary cutter it looks like the blade is on the side for a left handed person. Maybe you are left handed. If not it will cut better if you change it to the other side. That magnet thing looks cool. I might need one of those. Thanks for sharing.
The striped outfit is super cute! I had such a good time Saturday - I'm so glad you suggested it 😍I'm bummed that we forgot to take a group photo though!! OOH - I need that magnet thing! Thanks for sharing!
A hint for sewing around small pieces like the nativity set, draw the shape onto the fabric but don’t cut out. It’s easier to sew on a drawn line on a larger pice of fabric rather than following along the edge. I get much smoother seams and it’s much easier to guide.
Hi Jen, your striped outfit is lovely. Was wondering though if you changed the way the stripes went, so the top goes vertical and the skirt does horizontal; just a thought. Have a great time away with your family ☺
The top rides up because the bust dart is too high, and space has not been created for your cup size. A bust dart should point towards the apex of your breast. Also why dresses and tops appear to have a higher front hem. Now that being said, most people won’t notice😊, just us fitting nerds.
Thanks for the video. What happened today is unexceptionable. Our country needs to stop this violence . Pray for President Trump and his family 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
You are very encouraging, thank you for your videos that inspire me to learn more.
I'm so glad!
The sewing group is a good idea.

It was so nice to meet you! Hoping we can do this next month again. See you then!
My hubby bought me that magnet last year and I love it.
Yes to the elastic! Never any reason for a drawstring on anything!
The striped outfit was cute and looks very nice on you. Enjoy your trips and your family.
I'm glad you mentioned the tip about the pockets. I'm getting ready to sew in pockets on a knit. Great tip.😊
Glad y'all had fun! I like the first outfit you showed us. It looks like the perfect run around town outfit. I am a frequent needle changer too.
Putting elastic in the waistline now - and how is it no surprise that you are also a frequent needle changer? I think I must be psychic - 😂😂😂

Fashionably late. 😉 Adorable, striped set! Sewing for kids is such fun - especially grand babies! 😘💗

Thank you! I never thought of that - didn't realise they made them left and right handed. Switching it now!
I always stabilize my edges. If I don't have knit interfacing available, I just cut off a piece of salvage and use that.

I know, I'm kicking myself too! Next time! xox
I love pintucks💕

Being old I want strips diagonal 😂

I love that pintuck pattern. I have not seen one in years. Question, what pattern is on the manikin in the back? Happy Sewing
That's McCall's 6959, a wrap dress in yellow linen, on the dressform. I haven't finished it yet.,
I really hate I couldn't be at your social. Maybe some day.........
