Good morning everyone and happy Monday! We’re in Fort Bragg, CA today to film the all-new 2020 Subaru Outback so stay tuned for videos on that vehicle very soon! We apologize for uploading this video so late after filming but it was almost not going to be uploaded due to an issue with an audio cable on our brand new Seinheiser wireless mic that affected this video and the 2019 Murano that was uploaded a couple weeks ago. We got this mic in April of this year, so it kind of got us off guard when we discovered a cable had already gone bad. We tried our best to match the voiceover to what was actually said during filming but you may notice that Sofyan’s lips don’t exactly match what was said at times. The faulty cable has been replaced but unfortunately with filming, audio problems arise occasionally 😔. We also wanted to mention that the 2020 Audi S8 has already been announced earlier this month for Europe and the US version should be coming soon afterwards. It’ll be equipped with a 4.0L 48 volt bi-turbo V8 with 563 HP and we can’t wait to drive that! It will also address our complaint about the mundane styling of this particular model. Hope that answers some of your questions and thanks for watching!

the Mercedes aren't "fllashy". their exterior designs are actually almost as boring s Audi. bmw aren't very flashy at all either, their exteriors just won't put you to sleep. This Audi's exterior design is completely underwhelming, very lazy, and just unacceptable for the class and price. It's obvious all the attention went into the exterior lights, safety sending tech and the interior technology. They forgot to make the exterior design a beauty. smh

What's the different between. Hid light and laser light at night time. I hate HID light behind me in a truck. They bright as fuck. So is laser light even worse?
@@fakedazzleful It's not. The problem with HIDs is that many people install HID kits that are not road-legal, and the headlight assembly in their cars is designed for halogen bulbs only... Moreover the US regulations regarding HID headlights (and headlights in general) are very outdated - everywhere else in the world, cars equipped with HID headlights are required to be self-leveling and have headlight washers to prevent blinding. Plus, the Adaptive High Beam technology that Sofyan mentioned is fantastic - I've driven many cars in Europe with AHB and it does make driving a lot safer.
arctic hound - Yes! A "SMITE" button that would send a small EMP pulse to disable another car would be PERFECTION! LOL!
style 20 in short, the laser light can put your headlights on full blast and shine everywhere and still not blind the driver on the opposing side and the driver in front
Another commenter said it looks like a Passat and now I can’t unsee the Passat in this car. And I wouldn’t want a V6 in my flagship car. A V8 or V12 is a must.

You never had 4-Matic Plus... I have Quattro in my W12 but 4-Matic Plus (the newest version) in my Merc is much better.
Always felt the A8 never gets enough attention from Audi even though it is it's flagship model! I feel like they could 100% blow consumers away if they wanted too. I agree it's not distinctive enough

What is the point of simulating the exhaust when it has real quad exhaust pipes. It annoys me to no end, it just looks cheap and lazy and it seems everyone is doing it smh
They made the A7 look awesome yet the A8 is so stale. Just a straight slab of sheet metal. With the S class and the LS looking so distinctive, this needed to be better.
Bro. The BMW 6 series , Mercedes CLS and Audi A7 are like their coupe version with a hatchback style. And it's sad but those car are the only car that look different from their brand with their wide body

Ahmad I think it looks great, not too exciting yet it has presence and looks expensive, and I guess that’s what they were aiming for, let’s not forget that cars in this segment are not supposed to look particularly exciting. The spec on this car makes it look a little bland, I’ve seen it in more exciting colours and different wheels and I think it changes the look of it completely, however the A8 has always been a conservative car.
Some people like the understated look.
I've 2 A8's so far. a D3 and D4 I love them and will probably get one of these next.

The beauty of this and most Audis is simple elegance. "Not flashy" is part of what I love about them. I have owned 4 Audis consecutively since 2000 and loved all of them ('99 A4, '07 A6, '15 A6, and '19 A8L).

@@shaanhaider6154 Haha! Traded for the A8, but I truly loved that car, and had zero problems over 100k miles from new. I don't know how long they last that way, but I can testify that its one hell of a fine car in every respect for the money.
I'm not saying it needs to be extremely over-styled but in its current state it looks like the rental car of full size luxury sedans.

Victor Moreira either the audio quit recording or there was some weird sound that ruined it so he had to re-record his voice and put it over the video. It happens a lot actually

Yamamoto Isoroku it is a good thing not disputing that. Just crazy to think that what was good enough 20 years ago isn’t today. Even like a v6 is not good enough even though most cars are built with 4 cylinder
Good points. Personally I’d prefer a naturally aspirated engine for smoothness and reliability over turbocharged, but that seems to be the problem with luxury markets these days. A car can’t just be really fast or really luxurious, it has to be both. It always makes me laugh when some of them are called “grand tourers” or “luxury cruisers” but they still have monster engines with well over the hp it would ever need.

Looking at this model in mid November, you can find new A8 with 20-25k off and drive off with a nicely equipped version in the mid 60s. That is a pretty good deal I think.
those interior screens and capacitive touch controls across the dash remind me of my 2015 civic. also the piano black is a yikes

The S class sells because of its name and tradition. People know the iconic Mercedes Benz Star and the prowess of the S Class which is why it dominates. The other brands simply cannot compete with the S class

Speaking of Autonomous driving: I just purchased a 2020 Subaru Outback Onyx Edtion, and it’s got the Eyesight with active Lane Centering. I realized after using it that Subaru is getting scary close to autonomous driving and no one is noticing lol. It will full on steer my around a corner.......... I tried. Did you ever get to test that out Sofyan?
Audi is all about stealth mode, not flashy but, subtle and with class. Also it’s not a sport car, it’s luxury so quiet and comfort is the target ...and yes I’ve loved my A8L
Audi can’t drive itself in city streets like the Tesla can. Self driving is the ultimate comfort while Audi is an obsolete blackberry that shoots out smelly toxic gas.

These grills are getting out of hand. So much space taken up where there could be more style cues and more of a unique look to that particular car instead of sharing a wide mouth grill like Lexus and Kias among others.
I like the conservative look. Although I'm single with no kids so I'd opt for the A7
I mean the a7 would make the better family car anyway lol
@@semahj it's sleeker with sloping roofline, not great for rear passengers by comparison. The A8 and A6 are better for families while the A7 removes practicality for style.
Jarvis Austin it has a bigger trunk. The slopping roofline is barely noticeable unless you're tall. On top of that the a8 doesn't have rear folding seats

You could also go for the S5 Sportback. I would pick the A7 over the S5 Sportback though.
The design is very conservative compared to the BMW 7 series and Mercedes S Class. Maybe you can review the Mercedes Benz S Class and the new 7 series and see how it compares to the Audi A8.

I got a ride on one of these new A8 L. Honestly I can’t say if is it better of a S class. It felt very solid, isolated from the outside and tons of space for the back seats. Old seniors prefer a conservative look, but I prefer the s class design or the Quattroporte. My complain might be that the dashboard looks always dirty with dust and finger print. the mpg though wasn’t bad at all, over 20 mpg.

Raymond Yeap This is larger than a Cadillac CT6. Outside of space and the 3D camera system there’s nearly no reason that I’d spend the extra money and choose this over the breathtaking Cadillac CT6 Platinum.

I am now going into my 9th month as the owner of a new A8L. The ride, interior and quality in my opinion matches that of the other 3 big luxo sedans. I wish that all wheel steering was available in America.

The L wheelbase is primarily bought by Sedan Service limo companies and they will not buy it if it has the coupe style roof because it’s all about the back seat for them ( most head and leg room possible). They Sedan Services also like wheels that hide the dirty brake calipers and rotors as much as possible. They also look for the quietest and floatiest smooth ride as well, exact opposite of a drivers car.

High beams on all the time should be illegal. It blinds people. A lot of new cars' low beams blind people too. It's crazy.
