Great dig Tom. I really love to watch you dig up and immediately identify these bottles. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to all in our Tom Askjem Community x
I love the old labels you show that would have been on the bottles,& the history you tell about how the bottles got there is so interesting! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, your family,& friends!🎄🎆
Happy Holidays, Tom and crew! Thank you for another great video. I really appreciate all that you do to bring them to us. The original pictures and history that you share is really interesting.
Another excellent video and this pit was loaded! Thanks for taking us on the dig with you. Looking forward to next Saturday, to watch another one of your videos!!
I have watched so many of your videos, love them. so many great finds. Being a old lady it drives me crazy when you are in a smaller hole and you throw chunks of glass back, I worry you are going to hurt yourself. But I wish I could do this, love the old bottles. Merry Christmas honey, hope it a blessed day❤
Tom, love your vids. Great way to escape the troubles of the world. Have you ever considered using something like this to find digging locations: "Stainless Steel Soil Sample Probe and Combined Probe Rod, Adjustable 17-32-48 Inch Probe Tool with T-Handle"?
I find it interesting to hear about these "long gone" places and see what products they were using. Liquor seemed to be the favorite medicine, lol. Merry Christmas,Tom,🎄 and don't party too hard we want to see some more digs.🎁✨
Tom, At age 78 I am very impressed at the broad extent of your knowledge of all kinds of antiques. Many years ago, I collected 1880's-1910's bottles and jugs. But also branched out into many other antiques. Were your parents collectors of antique items? Also, I might add that those large cylindrical batteries that you often find in privies, were likely used in those old Ring Type Oak Box Telephones. It was the power source for sending ring tones and voice conversations down the telephone wires.
We had the Rawleigh salesman coming around to our dairy farm quite often in the 60s/70s. The farm was in a small country town in New South Wales, Australia!
I want the blue cat head!!! So cute! Neat! I love the camera closer to the ground i can see 😊 someone needs to go threw the dirt you dig up with a metal detector.
I would also love to see your bottle collection in a video. It might be in a question and answer format, like when you interviewed with the Metal Detecting guys. Do you ever go to Bottle shows?
The thing that strikes me about the seeds is: not only could the human digestive system not break them down, they haven't returned to earth after being buried for over a century.
Ok... how many people want to go back in time and collect a bunch of obscure Hutchinson bottles and bury them in a pit, with a note that says "Jusf for you Tom!" ??? ANYONE???
I would love to see a video your bottle/relic collection.
Tom adressed this many times. Most of his collection was sold to fund other projects
He only has a few high dollar items, which aren't for sale.
Great dig Tom. I really love to watch you dig up and immediately identify these bottles. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to all in our Tom Askjem Community x

It would be interesting to see the owners reaction. Do you ever ask them Tom?
So much fun 😊merry Christmas 🎅 and a happy new year🎉do you find marbles? 😊
I would also love to see your bottle collection in a video. It might be in a question and answer format, like when you interviewed with the Metal Detecting guys. Do you ever go to Bottle shows?
At 22:06, some of the Schram jars were a more traditional bale lid. They also had another early lid that was close to a metal pop off type lid.
TOM. 😊😊😊😊😊 YES
🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄
Happy Holidays, Everyone!
Merry Xmas Tom
Awesome Earlville med
Isnt it time to dig in the SOUTH??? Warm weather agrees with you! ☀
Merry Christmas 🎁
What do you do with all the bottles over the years????collect or sell?love your show..tomas
Donates to museums, gives some to the landowner, once in a great while keeps one and throws back in the pit what no one wants.
Hotels and bars and RR pits should be sifted. Gold and ailver
Tom finds a rare bottle CA 1880 and says: “Oh, that’s nice” Me? I dig a 1976 Orange Crush and do cartwheels for half an hour.
No gallery this time? That's surprising. I know you had to have kept the soda bottle.
I just watch waiting for him to say “this pit is loaded”.
Merry Christmas
, merry Christmas to all
The thing that strikes me about the seeds is: not only could the human digestive system not break them down, they haven't returned to earth after being buried for over a century.
Convenient dumping place 😂 yes. Yes I would say you’re probably right.
I enjoy these videos but miss seeing the old photos of what was originally on the site (when available).
You have been busy this season. I sure hope your wife goes with you. Best of Holidays
Why is that ?
He doesn't have one, but if he ever does let's hope she loves this hobby as much as he does!
@MarciaShackelford-st5bt I'm sure she will!!
Absolutely love your show. It’s really teaching me a lot! So… how many times do you think you’ve said “undigested seeds”? 😂 Kinda grosses me out 🥴🤢🤪
well dun. some fine bottles.
Undigested seeds. 😂
Cool 🫘
have you found coins in those outhouse pitts
🙏🎄✨🎆👍💕❤
😊😊😊
You passed up the metal ring to the lid of the mason jar...
Ok... how many people want to go back in time and collect a bunch of obscure Hutchinson bottles and bury them in a pit, with a note that says "Jusf for you Tom!" ??? ANYONE???
prohibition was 1920 to 1933 so not many people drank back then.1920 is also when women started to vote.
Good dig Tom.If I send you some money can you send me like 5 lbs of seeds? thanks'
Anther fake video
How is it fake??
@oregoncoastadventures5826 That's my question too.
😂 how about learning how to spell instead of saying it's fake.
This man is very reputable
What are you talking about?
