- The History of the Nike Air Huarache Spans more than two decades! Despite it's weirdness the Nike Air Huarache continues to make Nike's best selling list every quarter. Why is that? What makes the Huarache such a great shoe? How did this strange sneaker design become so popular in mainstream culture? When Tinker Hatfield showed the original sketch for the Huarache to Sandy Bodecker, Sandy declared it "The Sneaker of the Gods". If Zues were around today, he'd probably be rocking a pair of Nike Huaraches.

Still one of the best shoe purchases I've ever made. All black Air Huaraches for 70 bucks. Bought them to work in, since they were all black. Pretty soon they became my everyday shoe. It's light, comfortable, and never goes out of style. Now I'm practically a shoe fanatic because of that pair.
I had a pair. It was the most comfortable, and lightest pair of shoes I ever wore. It had this direct feel of like running barefoot.
Definitely one of the finest shoes ever!! The lightest pair i ever had were the Penny Hardaway’s!! So comfortable so light!

I think before the re releases I only saw like 1 or 2 huaraches around? I always rocked the huarache before it became trendy (I had them in 2015 but no one had em until a year later and everyone decides to rock em) and suddenly everyone started wearing. Same thing with the air force 1 in 2016. I was buying these since they were on the clearance racks for 40 quid for an all white pair. Everyone told me they were shit. 2 years later and now everyone's rocking then 🤷🏾♂️guess I'm always ahead in trends

@@jamrah8713 that's crazy same here I had the triple black in 2015 and Noone had em till a year later ppl were going crazy for them again. Only hurrache I heard of back un the day was in grade school in early 2000s mid top ones with the strap that were also hot at the time.
That product manager who signed the order to build 5 thousand pairs for the NY marathon was a real one, the MVP. That dude BELIEVED in Tinker Hatfield's design. When you have people believing in you like the way that dude believed in Hatfield, you are unstoppable.
People like that will always show up out of nowhere in the moment at your lowest and give you the right motivation you need to push through! I always love hearing Tinker's success stories!
I’m 35 and my dad introduced me to the Huarache in HS in like 1999. He had a pair and bought me a navy and baby blue pair. I was the first person at my HS with some and when I wore them everyone wanted some lol! I actually currently own an all red pair (Red Octobers) and all white! Classic! I have narrow feet and Huaraches work for me!
I played in the Huarache Air Flights back in 1992. I have a photo of me wearing them back in the day. Dope shoes and I picked up the retros!

I always thought the Air Jordan 7s were very Hurache inspired. They had nice inner liner that you slid your foot into. It wasn't neoprene but a similar flexible, form-fitting material. Very comfortable and lightweight.
Yep and the 8’s and 9’s has the neoprene inner booty too
Basically since they have the neoprene bootie, tinker is the creator of the AJ 7 so that explains that and in my opinion they are the most comfortable Jordan ever.
Just copped the Miami colorway Huaraches, love this shoe. Would love a history of the Nike Blazer or Puma Clyde/Suede!

I had the purple/black/white huaraches flights in the 90s. Definitely the most comfortable Nike. Since there rerelease a few years ago I now own 14 different pairs of colours. Love my huaraches.

I turned into Nike Sneakerhead with AF1. Then got obsessed with sb dunk lows, then air max 90s, but no huarache. I bought my first huarache 2 days ago (tan stussy) which is still being shipped. I am afraid i will be hooked on huaraches and will spend even more money now 😩

The main reason this is the best sneaker UA-cam channel for me is the lenght od the video. No more then 7 min and you get everything! Others would bore you for 10-15 mins. Keep it up!
I love the huarache. My wife bought me a pair of black and white huarache drif for my birthday and I think it’s the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

I remember the 1st time I saw the Huarache Flights John Starks and others had em on in the ‘92 dunk contest. I remember thinking “what the hell are those?” The day I bought the Jordan 7’s at launch I tried em on and was amazed how light and comfortable they were and how similar they were to the huaraches. Later Adidas tried to copy with their bb shoes with removable bootie/sock liner that came in different colors.

I mean, what i find more interesting about a pair of kicks isn’t the hype. It’s the storytelling, the way design gives you hints to the ages and the culture and the way you empathize with the stories they tell.

I had them originally way back when. The classic purple/black ones. I just got a new pair. So comfortable, like slippers. Better than slippers. Also, even though they’ve been around 30 years, they somehow still seem futuristic. Quality stuff.

Been using wuaraches since day one! Right know I got 2 in my house in miami the 2k4 black and yellow and the all black russian floral and in my hometown in PR I got 2 pair of the original 94 basketball original colorway and the spurs color way with icey sole! 💪🏽 in total I had like more than 9 pairs! Great shoe!

I got the Infrared colorway for the Huarache as part of the Nike Icon series for $69 (😂) at Foot Locker last Friday. They weren't kidding on it being a comfy sneaker! For narrow footers (c-width), definitely go up half size (full size and a half for wide footers!) as it will force your toes forward to the leather toebox. Just make sure to clip your toenails occasionally and preferably wear thin socks!
Not bad for standing all day when working on the hard floor for retail and walking is a great sensation with it and really is pretty light thanks to the air unit at the heel and forefoot with the soft phylon midsole playing a factor into it! I decided to go run in these for a 5km run. Thankfully, the air unit didn't give out since I weigh 147 to 150 lbs, but it still feels great to run in! It only felt awkward to run due to all that phylon foam on the heel giving a bit of a height on the heelstack and it was back in the days where people originally thought you have to land on the heel when in reality, you're supposed to land on the ball of your foot/forefoot.
Other than that, this remains one of Tinker's best shoe designs! If I see another Scream Green colorway pop on Nike, I'm nabbing those!
The first Huarache I got were the Blue/green joints, the back strap popped off one side in 10 mins flat.

This video pops up on my feed the day I’m about to break out a fresh pair of Huaraches black/lethal pink new emerald colour way. Got them from the Nike outlet at the Jersey Gardens mall in NJ. $74 with a further 30% off the price and then a further 15% with my Nike app discount so ended up at $44 only regret is I didn’t get more pairs but as I’m from the U.K. I was limited by my suitcase weight. Huaraches were part of my growing up in school and started to re-retro in 2014 and it was these Huarache retros that started me collecting sneakers. I have 200 pairs now and am into Jordan, Yeezy, Nike, Adidas, Human Race, Puma, Converse and Timberlands

Got them in neon yellow & magenta this week. These are everything Ultraboosts wish they improved on, since they arrived over 20 years earlier. Walking on air cells this soft, or whatever makes the midsole this soft, is really a treat. The leather is real soft, maybe because there's no reinforcing behind it - just the neoprene, but it also feels substantial for Nike leather. These, the AM95 and AM Plus/TN are the most comfortable shoes, probably of all time. Always fun and support my feet.

Man this is one of the few places on the internet where I see soany positive comments about Huaraches. Everyone everywhere else seems to hate the shoe. This was one of the first pair of sneakers I bought and that too in Toadstool colorway. I loved it so much. Thank you for not shitting on it.

Comfy but super warm. Not a warm weather kick
These shoes are really different and casual, but most importantly, SUPER comfortable, i own a pair of Air Max 720 and Huarache’s, and even if the 720 is not made for any type of sport, is “less comfortable” than the Huarache. Of course they are amazing shoes and super comfortable, but i think the Huarache are 1 step further. So proud i have them :)

@@NachoAverageFinds i never tried the 270, so i can't tell how much tall is it, but the 720 are like "descending" from the top to the bottom, and they really feel great, also for the fact that is padded all over the shoe.

No mention of the strap only Huarache trainer? I had a cast off pair from my dad as a kid, and wore them until my mom threw them out for me "as a favor". Missed the re-release and haven't seen them since.
I had a pair in 93, they’re the most comfortable shoe ever made. Even second to air max 90 which I still find are one of the most comfortable shoes.
Yesterday I was deciding between Huaraches or Air Max 90s….got the latter. I’ll still get the Huaraches though.
