I'll stick with the roof tent on my Hilux... Was thinking of something like this as a day-shelter, not for sleeping but putting stuff out of the rain or sun, and to keep stray dogs or monkeys off the food etc. The other big question is how easy is it to put it back down again?
It literally takes 2 minutes to take it down and put it away. It's great to leave it at your campsite while you are out doing things. It sucks to have to pack up your roof tent every time you want to take your car somewhere. (Unless you plan on not leaving your campsite).
I don't recommend that tent for rainy season, I bought one and its not waterproof. We got the same tent but different color. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO BUY TENTS IN SHOPEE OR LAZADA, WASTE OF MONEY
Too bad man ...water proof is highly recommended if it is not I change my mind to buy one what I can say is no thanks better look for heavy rain quality performance.
It has a rain fly...and I have a lightweight waterproof tarp that covers the whole area. The tent isn't the best quality, but it's great for the camper who occasionally camps.

How do I set up the canopy?
It's easy. It has plastic hooks on it. Just stretch it over the top and connect the hooks.

nope. not waterproof. setup this tent on our garage and it rained. everything inside got wet. :(
