Duck hunter here. I have a long tail on my 14ft boat and a prodrive on my war eagle. That prop should be between 1/4 and 1/2 of the width of the prop above the waterline. They arent made for high speed or acceleration the goal is to get it where you get right before rev limiter. The prop is designed for torque to get you throu shallow areas submerging it will bog it out. Even my 36hp will do the same i try to just keep the prop nut under the water line

Nice Idea. I camp on Lake Champlain every summer and I wanted to get drone shots this year, but I was worried about it falling in the lake. I also wanted to launch from the boat, but I was afraid I could have issues with landing it to get it back. I used your idea but with pool noodles, and sealed the ends. I have an HS360S so there is no landing gear out there for it, however, there is another type of landing gear for the HS720 that uses a rubber strap over the top. I was able to adapt this to the HS360S. I used a pool noodle, and sealed the ends with pool noodle foam cut to form a plug. Air is lighter than foam, so I figured sealed end pool noodle is better than solid foam anyway. The strap-over landing gear is shorter, however, so this put my back prop arms level on the foam. With the foam so close, it was obstructing the camera, so I cut away the inside edge of the foam in the front at an angle, until it was out of view, without cutting into the air chambers. I then made similar cuts to the backs of the pontoons for balance. It still floats basically as well as with the whole noodles, and looks more aerodynamic. I can take-off and land in the pool, so it is looking good for boat launches and landings next week. A quick run over with a heat gun on low, takes the texture out of the pool noodle foam, especially where it was cut, and makes a smoother sealed surface, then you can paint it and make it look nice, if you want. Final weight with noodles, glue (super glue to save weight), paint, zip-ties and landing gear: 35g. I put too thick a coat of paint on it, I think, as it was only 30g before the paint.🙃 Landing Gear: $10, Pool Noodle: $2.50,. I already had the glue, paint and zip ties.

Thats obviously not a real eye or it would have been eaten/decomposed beyond recognition. It looked like there was a helmet near the eyeball, maybe they are props. It also looks too "perfect" to be a real eye while missing a lot of organic details.
