I farmed for the Kirin Tor Familiar back in the day. It took a lot of effort but it was a cool pet. It's rather large and occasionally does the arcane explosion animation.
The lore story behind what Windle Sparkshine does is kinda sad. "Windle and his wife, Jaxi, were the parents of Kinndy Sparkshine, the young apprentice to lady Jaina Proudmoore in Theramore Isle. Although they missed their daughter, Jaina often allowed Kinndy to visit Dalaran, as it was only a simple teleport spell away. When the Horde began threatening Theramore, Jaina stopped by the home of the Sparkshines and assured them she would do everything in her power to keep Kinndy safe. However, Kinndy was one of those who died in the Attack on Theramore Isle. Jaina, the sole survivor, met with the Sparkshines at A Hero's Welcome and spent the evening talking with them. When Windle left to put the lights on, Jaina accompanied him. The Kirin Tor had granted Windle special permission to have a glowing image of a laughing Kinndy show up above the lamp posts when he lit them." But i'm not sure if this backstory was added after Wrath or it was planned from the start.
When you jump into the well portal for the Dalaran sewers, theres a sleeping "Washed Up Mage" behind a grating (you can see him briefly in the video behind WillE at 2:18) that gives a quest for the cooking recipe for "Kungaloosh". To unlock it you need do a few quests in Sholazar Basin: - Need an Engine, Take an Engine - Venture Co. Misadventure - Have a Part, Give a Part - Wipe That Grin Off His Face - Dreadsaber Mastery: Becoming a Predator - Rhino Mastery: The Test - Some Make Lemonade, Some Make Liquer - Still At It - The Taste Test Not sure how obscure this quest actually is, but its something I didnt learn about until I started playing Wrath private servers lol
